“You can’t go after him, Y/N, he’s unhinged,” your colleague begged when he saw you putting your hero costume on.
“I can’t let him run around out there causing chaos unchecked!” you replied firmly, “I’m the only one who has a chance of taking him down.”
“I know,” he sighed heavily into his words, “but still. He will kill you given the chance.”
“I actually doubt it,” you replied, zipping your costume front up, “because he had a chance last time… and didn’t take it.” You stepped past your colleague and headed off out the door and down the hall.
“Be careful!” he shouted after you, “if you need back up, just holler!”
You put your hand up in the air without looking back to let him know you had heard him, but he and you both knew that you wouldn’t call for backup. You never did.
Taking to the streets, you walked off in the direction of Bakugou’s lair.
You knew where he usually hung out.
The old oil riggers made a fantastic sound when they blew up, and that’s exactly what he like to do… blow things up, so you decided to check there first.
Thankfully your quirk could combat his explosion quirk… you had a sand quirk.
You could throw copious amounts of sand from the palms of your hands and it worked quite well for anything fire, spills, or chemically related emergencies.
The last time you had gone up against the villain Bakugou, you had almost had your face blown up but weirdly enough this kinda thing did it for you.
The guy was an unhinged hunk of hotness with a foul mouth and sexy smirk to top it off with, and when he had had you pinned under him, momentarily, the last time you had gone head to head, you couldn’t help but feel weirdly attracted to him.
He didn’t wear much for his villain costume and his abs had detained 90% of your focus- which is probably why you ended up getting caught by him in the first place but today was going to be different! Today you were going to catch him and have him behind bars.
It wasn’t a long walk to the end of town and the closer you got, the more on edge you became.
Was it nervous energy coursing through you?
Or was it the excitement of seeing him again?
You didn’t have much time to check and recheck your internal questions as before you got to close to his hideout, an explosion blasted from your left and you jumped sideways to avoid it.
“Should you be out here on your own, hero?” A sinister, hot voice, rasped in your ear.
Now, you thought you had jumped sideways and had managed to avoid the explosion, but what had happened was villain Bakugou had shot an explosion from his palm at the same time that he had jumped over his own explosion and had landed in front of you and smacked you back first up against the rough iron wall of one of the oil rigger sheds nearby.
“You’re coming with me today,” you replied back, trying not to show that you were a bit confused at how you had been caught so quickly.
“Ha!” he laughed in your face, his crazed red eyes tearing shreds into yours, “don’t underestimate me. You know damn well you can’t beat me in a head on fight… or do you have a death wish today?”
His face was so close to yours now that the sweat from his nose brushed off onto yours.
You swallowed thickly and slowly let sand out of your palms as you stared straight back into his eyes.
“If you can kill me, then that’s on me, right?” you replied in a challenging voice, “what kind of hero would I be if I allowed a villain to beat me?”
“Allowed?” he pointed out the word that had gotten to him the most, “you think you’re so good, don’t you?”
“I don’t think… I know,” you replied smartly, stalling for a little more time so that you could accumulate as much sand around him as possible so that when you ducked away from him you could collapse the sand around his legs, up to his knees, to lock him in place.
“Cocky,” he snickered, raising his hand to the side of your head with his palm crackling, “well goodnight hero. Sweet dreams.”
But before he could blast you, you knuckle punched him in his rock hard abs and ducked away then forced the sand to collapse against his legs as you barrel rolled out from between him and the wall.
You got up and looked back to see…
An empty area filled with sand.
Your plan had failed.
And Bakugou was nowhere to be seen.
“Oh hell,” you panicked, head whipping around to find him, “I didn’t hear an explosion?! Where did he go?!”
“Sleeping on the job, hero?” A voice suddenly called from right behind you as Bakugou dropped from the sky and blasted you from behind.
You tried to get out of the way as quickly as possible but he was too fast, and you were barreled forwards by the force of the explosion as it blasted into your back.
As you were falling, you twisted and shot a reem of sand back at him, temporarily blinding him so you could get away a bit more.
You can’t run from me, hero,” he hollered, “come back and fight me, you coward!”
He threw attack after attack at you, laughing maniacally as he maneuvered his fine tuned body with his detonations, keeping you moving until he finally cornered you, jumped you, and pinned you to the ground with one hand on your cheek while he laid his knee into your ribcage.
“It’s over for you… you lose,” he growled, his palm starting to heat up rapidly.
Fearing for your life, you used all your strength to get him off you, but it was no use, as sudden pain ripped through your face and you blacked out.
When you came too again you were lying on your side with hands and legs tied, in, (you were guessing), one of the warehouses there.
You tried not to move too much so that he wouldn’t be alerted to your consciousness and listened to the sounds around you to locate him.
After only hearing silence, you hesitantly opened your eyes and looked around.
He wasn’t there, so you activated your quirk and pushed sand into the rope ties so that it would wear away the smaller fibers and sever them… which it did, then you worked at getting the leg ties free but all of a sudden Bakugou appeared again.
In a fit, your body clicking hard into fight mode, you went mad, using your quirk for anything and everything possible to save yourself, then and only then, were you able to match Bakugou in speed and almost power as you hurled your sand at him.
You felt like you may just have had the upper hand this time around, but Bakugou had far more stamina… and had it not been for backup (on your end)… you may have ended up tied up again… or even dead.
“Get on the ground!” you heard the unmistakable voice of your colleague call out to Bakugou as a team of heroes infiltrated the warehouse- Bakugou, as you may have suspected, promptly ignored his warning call and sprang at you again.
You fought him off and surrounded him with a sand whirlwind to block his vision temporarily while your fellow heroes moved in and caught him.
“Y/N! You’re bleeding!” your co-worker gasped when he got to you.
“It’s ok, it’s mine,” you said wiping your face with your hand.
“That’s what I’m concerned about,” he deadpanned.
“This isn’t the end, hero,” Bakugou snarled from where 4 other heroes had him detained the second you removed the sand storm. He had your blood on his hands, and various marks and bruises from your fight together, as his intense eyes stared you down.
You confidently walked over and got up in his face, boldly pressing your lips to his before pulling back and smirking at him.
“Sorry baby… but you lose.”
