The next few weeks were much the same. Bakugou would stop by every day and say maybe one or two sentences to you before storming off. It kinda became the norm.
You were enjoying the job and your boss really liked how you handled the shop and was giving you long and longer shifts. Finally he gave you the closing shift which required you to finish and lock up at 11pm. A late close but you were elated that he trusted you enough to close up shop and keep the spare key.
The day progressed as usual. Bakugou stopped by for more gum and you now had an almost unspoken rule of having the gum he like waiting on the counter for him so all he had to do was walk in and pay.
He gave you a small nod before leaving this time and you smiled. Happy that you had gotten more than a grunt out of him.
11pm rolled around and you did one last check of the shop to make sure it was tidy and free of spills on the floor then turned off all the machines. You had just finished locking up the till when you felt your fingers going numb and fuzzy.
“Oh FUCK! Not now! Please not now.” You froze and stared at the desk. Panic setting in about the impending seizure that you knew was about to happen.
You heard someone bang on the door and your head snapped up. It was Bakugou and he looked … angry?!
“Why the heck is he here? And why does he look mad?!”
You heard him yell something but as you went to open your mouth to ask what he said you blacked out, tumbling to the floor and immediately going into a fit of spasms.
Bakugou knew what was going on the second he saw you freeze and brace yourself on the shop counter.
Why was he outside the shop so late? He had had a premonition that something was going to happen and he just couldn’t shake the feeling that you were somehow in danger so he wanted to check on you.
He timed it perfectly.
When he saw you collapse he wasted no time in blasting the door down with his quirk (he quite enjoyed that part, let’s be honest.) and raced to your side. He quickly slid his hoodie off folded it, putting it under your head so you wouldn’t concuss yourself when your head thrashed back and forth. He then moved stands and such away from you so you wouldn’t kick things over and timed the seizures so he could give the relevant information to the correct medical staff.
He reached for his phone and called the ambulance, directing the operator with excellent authority. Everyone he spoke to was very impressed with his skills. He watched the paramedics handle you and put you in the back of the ambulance. You had stopped convulsing by now and were resting unconsciously.
He watched them take you then turned and slowly headed for home.
When you woke in the hospital the last thing you remembered was seeing Bakugou at the door of the store.
“What happened to him? Why was he there?” Was he mad at me?”
You picked up your phone that was placed on the stand next to the hospital bed and replied some frantic texts from your parents before flicking through your messages and pulling up your last interaction with Bakugou.
You scowled when you saw it but went ahead and sent him a new message. Your unhappiness at the previous texting interaction causing you to send a very short message this time around.
“Hey. Thank you for calling the ambulance.” You tapped out.
Almost immediately a message we back. “Yeah ok.”
You frowned. “How difficult is this guy being?!”
“Umm… what were you doing outside the store so late?” You probed.
There was a bit more hesitation this time before the reply came back.
“Does it matter? I saved you didn’t I?”
“Yeah well true but still… doesn’t answer my question.”
You didn’t really know where to go with this conversation so decided to just let it go since he was being so difficult.
“Yeah true. Thanks.” You sent back. Not caring if you came off as rude. He was being rude wasn’t he?
“Rest up.” Came his reply.
Your eyebrows flew up in surprise. “He acts all tough and uncaring but then says something surprisingly kind on the end.”
You shook your head. Why did he have to be like this?!
Another week and you were back working. You were more than a little curious about this Bakugou Katsuki that kept coming by without really saying much. You heard that he had paid your boss back for blasting the door off it’s hinges to get to you. You were quietly touched. Was he kind underneath after all?
“Hey uh. What school do you go to?” You asked him one day.
“You should k-.” He stopped. “UA.” He said, looking away and shoving his hands in his pockets.
“I’ve heard of that school before?” You said.
Bakugou frowned then softened. “Come by sometime.” He grunted before leaving. 6
“Come by? TO HIS SCHOOL?!” You blushed. “Why would he want me to come to his school?!”
You thought about his invitation and decided to take him up on his offer. The next afternoon before work you found your way to the school. Everything seemed so familiar.
You found yourself in front of the gates to the school and looked up. “This place is huge!” You thought, stepping onto the grounds.
Your feet carried you through the building straight to the doors of class 1-A. You didn’t know how you ended up here but it just felt so natural. The bell rang sharply and you jumped, looking left and right wondering if you should hide.
The door opened and a green haired boy walked out, almost bumping into you.
“Oh I’m sorry Midoriya.” You said.
He stared at you. “H-how do you k-know my n-name?!” He stammered. You froze.
“How do I know his name?!”
