Dabi walked you to your house despite your begging him to just see you off at the corner.
“Thanks.” You muttered hurriedly as you turned and quickly went inside.
Dabi just watched you go before walking on down the road.
“Hey.” A voice said lowly as Dabi passed a house a few doors down from yours.
He looked to his left to see who it was that had called to him.
“Oh, hey Todoroki.” He replied blandly as the duel haired guy stepped out from his front gate.
“Why were you with Y/N just now?” He asked, his heterochromic eyes holding a suppressed emotion… was it jealousy?
Dabi eyes him calmly before responding.
“I left school late and saw her leaving on her own.” Dabi stated nonchalantly, “walked her home to make sure she was safe.”
“Thanks but that’s my duty.” Shouto replied darkly. “You don’t need to do it again.”
“Hooo?” Dabi replied with a smirk and a raised eyebrow. “Do I sense jealousy?”
“Stay away from her ok?” Shouto said lowly through a clenched jaw.
“No can do.” Dabi replied with an air of cheeky smugness, “I happen to find Y/N quite interesting.”
Shouto narrowed his eyes and was about to reply when Dabi cut him off again.
“If you have feelings for Y/N I suggest you let her know.” Dabi said with a smug smirk as he turned and walked off. “Or else someone else may just come in and whisk her away.”
Shouto growled as he watched Dabi casually walk away.
“I don’t like this guy…” He thought.
“Mum! I’m just going to Sho’s house for a while!” You called as you quickly ran to the front door.
“Be back for dinner, ok?” She called back. “Why are you going there so soon? Have you done your homework? How was school today? We haven’t had a chance to talk.”
“Umm, he’s invited me for dinner, no I haven’t done my homework yet but I will do it I promise.. what was the next question? OH SCHOOL… uh… yeah fine and umm can we talk later tonight?” You replied, pausing with your hand on the open door to wait for her response. “Why are there always 300 questions?! I’ve told him you’re not home too so that’s why I’m not coming back for dinner.”
“Oh! Ok…. be back by 9 then!” She called in and almost worried tone.
“Ok, thanks Mum!” You yelled as you dashed out the door and ran down the street to Sho’s house before she could bombard you with more questions. “She’s always so on edge!”
You bounced up to the front door of a Shouto’s house and rang the doorbell.
“Hey auntie Rei.” You greeted brightly when Shouto’s mum answered the door.
“Hi Y/N,” she replied sweetly with a warm smile. “Come in.”
“Thanks.” You replied.
You walked in past her and your heart leapt in your chest when you spotted Shouto standing in the hallway, his gorgeous eyes watching you as you walked towards him.
“H-hey.” You said, trying not to sound nervous.
“Hi Y/N.” He replied, pushing his hands into his pockets. “Want to see my project? I’m almost done…”
“Oh sure!” You replied, following him to his room.
You walked in behind him and bounced over to his bed and flopped down, trying to refrain from grabbing his pillow and hugging it while burying your nose into it
“Ugh man why am I so nervous!!”
“Here.” Shouto said, holding his new project out to you.
“Oh wow! Sho it’s even better than your last one.” You complimented him as you took it in hand and looked it over.
“I saw Dabi walk you home.” Shouto suddenly said.
You nearly dropped his project in fright.
“Uhhh, ummmm.” You stuttered, heart suddenly leaping out of your chest from fear of being caught out.
“I don’t like him.” Shouto said darkly. “Keep away from him ok?”
“W-why don’t you like him?” You asked nervously.
“Because…” his voice trailed off and he turned away from you. “Nevermind…” he added, “I just don’t like him…”
“Umm ok?” You replied, handing Shouto his project back.
He took it from you and stared at the floor. “Hey….Y/N…. this weekend…”
“Yes?” You prompted.
“The food festival is on.” He continued, still staring at the floor.
“Oh! Yeah I love the food festival!” You squealed, “I love their [favourite food]”
“Well… did you want to go with me?” He asked softly, nervously fiddling with his project before putting it back on the desk.
“Sure!” You replied, “sounds awesome.”
“Ok.” He said, looking up at you with a small smile.
“Wait why is he smiling like that?? Is this a date?? DID HE JUST ASK ME OUT ON A DATE??”
You stared at him, wondering if you should clarify the weekend outing as just a friends thing or as a date.
“Is everything ok?” He asked, seeing the strange look on your face.
“Oh! Y-yeah I’m good.” You replied with an overly wide smile to hide your nerves.
You were super keen for the weekend and finally it came.
Making your way to the front door you pulled it open, intending to leave and head down to Shouto’s house but as you pulled the front door open you nearly smacked right into him.
“HOLY!” You gasped in shock. “Oh! It’s you Sho.” You said with relief, sighing as you patted your chest to calm your racing heart. “You scared me! I was just leaving to come over to yours.”
“Sorry Y/N I didn’t mean to scare you, I thought I’d come over here to pick you up…” he said in his usual even tone.
You looked him over, he was dressed up a little and you looked down at your own outfit.
“Shit, should have dressed up a little more…” you thought as looks back up at him.
As if to read your mind he cleared his throat and glanced to the side.
“You…. look good Y/N.” He said softly while scratching his cheek. “You always look good but you look really nice tonight.”
You blushed heavily.
“Ohhh you’re just being nice.” You said with an embarrassed laugh.
“I’m not. I’m being serious.” He said looking back at you and locking your in place with those gorgeous eyes of his.
You panic laughed as you stalled to try and find the best reply.
“Well let’s get going, hey?” You finally said. “Ugh, why am I so AWKWARD?!”
He smiled softly and the two of you headed off down the road.
The food festival was being held in the park just near your houses so it was easier to walk and you both talked as you went.
