Dabi eyed you for a minute, silently, before cocking his head and speaking.
“Sure, I’ll keep it secret, it can’t be helped since you’re asking so desperately.” He said, a hit of smugness in his voice.
“Oh my god thank you so much.” You nearly cried, tears of relief welling up in your eyes as you placed a grateful hand on your heart. “You’re so kind.”
You walked towards him and stopped in front of him, bowing slightly in gratitude before stepping to the side and intending to walk past.
“Hey now, hold up.” Dabi said as he shot an arm out and placed his palm against the opposite doorframe to block your path. “I didn’t say I would keep quiet for free.”
You looked up at him. There was a different look in his eye now and you swallowed thickly.
“W-what do you mean?” You asked softly with a lot of apprehension in your voice.
“I mean, you have to do something for me in return for my silence.” He said with a devious smirk.
“A-anything!” You blurted out suddenly, “I’ll do anything, please…please don’t tell him.”
“Anything?” He asked with a quirked eyebrow, an ulterior motive brewing in his tone of voice.
“Y-yes?” You replied hesitantly, realizing you had put yourself in a potentially risky situation should his request be… unsavory.
“Good.” He said lowly, “then from now on you’ll be my pet.” 2
“Pet?!” You squeaked. “What does that even mean?”
“It means, I’m your master and you will do everything I say.” He said lowly with a sneer.
You trembled slightly.
“Uhhhh ummm…. look Dabi I don’t really like the sound of this?” You replied suspiciously.
“Oh don’t you?” He asked slyly, “well then this can be easily fixed, I’ll just have to tell Shouto about your-.”
“OK! Ok I’ll do it…” you replied urgently. “Anything.” You said as you lowered your head in shame.
“There’s a good girl.” He coo’d lowly, “I’ll see you tomorrow my pet.” He said as he patted you briskly on the head before turning and leaving.
You stood there with fists balled up, glaring angrily at the ground.
“How fucking dare he!” You growled. “I’ll teach him to treat me like that!”
And with that you marched out of the room and back down to the lockers to get your stuff and head home.
“Oi, what took you so long?” A bored voice called to Dabi as the devious ravenette exited the school building.
“Just getting myself a play toy.” Dabi replied, sniggering as he sauntered up to his friend with hands in pockets.
“What?” His friend asked in a deadpan voice.
Dabi chuckled deeply. “Caught a chick breaking her friends project, she asked me not to tell, I told her it would cost her.”
The friend sighed brokenly. “You’ll never change will you?”
He turned and starting heading to the school gates.
“C’mon Tomura.” Dabi jeered, lengthening his stride slightly to catch up to his friend, “you can’t tell me you wouldn’t have done the same? It’s so fucking boring around here, I need something to make life interesting.”
The friend called Tomura sighed. “Keep me out of this though yeah? Who knows how far you’ll go.”
“Relaaaax.” Dabi sung, “I’m not gonna make her do anything deviant.” He said with a smirk as they walked side by side out the gates.
“You’ve always been a good liar.” Tomura said bluntly.
The next morning you walked slowly to the corner where you and Shouto usually met to walk together to school.
He was there.
“H-hey.” You said anxiously as you walked up to him, one arm rubbing the other nervously. “Umm about yesterday I-.”
“No Y/N, I need to apologize, I didn’t mean to hurt you, it just came out… badly.” Shouto said as he hung his head.
“N-no it’s ok, I’m sorry I snapped at you.” You replied.
He looked up at you and you smiled weakly.
“Friends?” You asked.
“Friends.” He confirmed, returning your weak smile with his own weak smile.
Your stomach churned as you remembered the events from yesterday, the sight of his smashed project vividly in the forefront of your mind.
“S-so uh… sports class this afternoon…” you said, starting up a random conversation to get dialogue flowing between you two again to clear the awkwardness.
You continued to chat as you walked to school, the tension easing as you went.
By the time you reached the school gates you were feeling better…
That was until you saw Dabi and remembered your deal. Your face fell as his turquoise eyes locked with yours.
He smirked slightly when he saw you and winked.
You hastily dropped your head and refused to acknowledge him but Shouto saw.
“Did that guy just wink at you?” He asked as you both passed Dabi.
“W-w-what?! N-no?! I don’t know him!! It was probably someone behind us he winked at, maybe, I don’t know.” You rambled, laughing anxiously as you babbled away.
“You sure?” Shouto asked, eyeing you suspiciously. “It definitely looked like he winked at you.”
“N-no no no no it wasn’t at me I swear.” You lied, waving your arms defensively.
Shouto didn’t say anything more but you got the feeling he was suspicious now.
“Great. Another thing I have to try and hide.” You groaned to yourself as you got your books and headed to homeroom.
You entered the classroom and took your seat, still thinking about how best to avoid Dabi for that day so that a) Shouto wouldn’t get suspicious and b) Dabi couldn’t ask you to do anything potentially embarrassing.
“Morning pet.” A hushed voice said from behind you as they passed your seat.
“Fuck, what’s he doing here? Is he in my class?”
You turned your head slowly and stiffly to look to your left.
Dabi shot you a devious lopsided grin and sank down in the seat beside you, leaning back on the chair with one arm draped over the back slightly so his posture was open towards you.
“What are you doing here?” You asked in a deadpan hushed tone.
“I’m your classmate.” He replied smuggly, “what? You didn’t know that?”
“Nope, couldn’t have cared less which class you were in to be honest, the further away from me the better.” You replied briskly.
“I’d watch that mouth of yours, pet.” Dabi replied with smug warning. “I wouldn’t talk to me like that if I were you.”
“Ugh.” You groaned internally as you remembered the predicament you were in. You couldn’t afford to be a smartass right now.
“Sorry.” You hissed through gritted teeth, not looking at Dabi. The word almost looking painful as it rolled off your tongue.
“Mmm you can do better than that.” He hummed haughtily. “See me after roll call.”
You clenched you’re jaw angrily and shot him a side long glare but didn’t respond.
He smirked at your defiance. “Looks like I need to train you, you’ve never had an owner before obviously.”
You were seething by this point. Who did this guy think he was?! No WAY were you going to play this game, this was demoralizing!
