Alternate ending 1:
“In the name of the father…” You prayed silently. “This is not going to end well..”
Shouto squared up and took a few steps forward so that there was not much space now between the two boys and you held your breath.
“Shit! Someone needs to stop them, no… I need to stop them!”
You went to open your mouth to say something then all of a sudden Shouto threw hands.
Dabi stepped back and blocked Shouto’s punches so Sho dropped lower and shoulder barged Dabi right in the chest, winding him with the force of his impact.
Dabi dropped his elbow into Shouto’s middle back and the duel haired heartthrob recoiled slightly before redoubling his efforts and forcing Dabi back further until he was back first up against the locker room wall.
“YOU DID IT!” Shouto yelled at Dabi as he wrestles with him, “I KNOW YOU DID IT!”
“Did what?!” Dabi replied back in an almost bored tone as he kicked Shouto off. “Steal your g-.”
“BROKE MY PROJECT!” Shouto hollered angrily in Dabi’s face.
Dabi tilted his head at Shouto curiously, refraining from throwing any more punches or kicks.
“What do you mean?” Dabi asked calmly.
“I know you broke my project Dabi, give it up, you have the perfect motive.” Shouto panted, slightly out of breath from fighting and from the adrenaline spike. “You’ve been after Y/N this whole time and so you broke my project to make it look like Y/N had done it out of spite, then you drove a wedge between us. That’s why she has been acting strange…”
Your eyes widened with fear and Dabi glanced at you over Shouto’s shoulder.
“Is… is he going to rat me out? So Shouto did suspect me, and he DID think it was out of spite… just like I feared…” You clutched at your chest in a panicked your heart student started pounding. “Shit… do I speak up now?”
You and the rest of the onlookers waited in baited silence for the answer.
“Yeah I did it.” Dabi said in a cool, aloof tone. “What you gonna do about it?”
Shouto’s face darkened again.
“I knew it!” He growled.
Your breathing hitched in your throat. “Fuck… Dabi just took it for me.”
Dabi looked over Shouto’s shoulder at you.
“It was me Y/N.” He said bluntly. “I broke it.”
You stared at him blankly for a few seconds.
“Wait… what? What do you mean?” You asked, confusion washing over your face when you saw he was serious.
“I was in the classroom just before you and accidently broke his project but I put it back on his desk and balanced it just right so that it would look like it was still together.” Dabi stated plainly. “Then you came in…”
Your eyes widened.
“What?!” You whispered harshly. “Y-you… YOU FUCKING BROKE IT THEN FRAMED ME!”
Just then the two school captains came running in and stood between Dabi and Shouto.
“ENOUGH!” The principal yelled as he entered the room. “DABI! TODOROKI! MY OFFICE! NOW!”
The captains grabbed Shouto and Dabi and walked them off towards the principals office, both boys glancing back at you with slightly different expressions on their faces as they were forced to walk away.
Dabi was looking at you with an almost apologetic look and Shouto was looking at you with an expression that was just as confused as yours.
You and Dabi connected eyes briefly as he walked off and you still had that look of disbelief on your face.
“Why did he???”
The principal told everyone to resume what they were doing and you followed orders, slowly getting your books from your locker, still mulling over what Dabi had said.
As you headed towards homeroom you suddenly ducked off towards the principals office.
“I need to know why? I need ANSWERS.” You thought as you started to run, ditching your books in a nearby janitors cupboard.
As you snuck up to the office window you peaked in just in time to see the principal call Shouto into his office, leaving Dabi unattended in the waiting room outside.
You waited until the principals office door had closed then you knocked on the window. Dabi looked over, then got up and sauntered over with hands in pockets, before pulling the window open and leaning down.
“Hello, pet.” He jeered.
“Why?” You asked, your brows knitted in confusion, “why? Why did you do that? Why did you let me think I had done it? Why did you blackmail me like that?! What was the purpose?!”
Lightening quick Dabi grabbed the front of your uniform and yanked you towards him. Your lips connected heavily, making out furiously through the office window.
“I told you that mouth was annoying and every question was getting the same treatment.” Dabi said lowly as he pushed you back from the kiss. “That’s your fucking answer.”
“That’s a shit answer.” You spat back, grabbing Dabi’s fist from your top and throwing it off you as you yanked yourself away. “I want to know why!” You hissed.
Dabi sighed and hung his head.
“I…” he paused and looked away while still looking down. “I wanted a toy, something to pass the time. I was bored and this game was so much fun but then… I went and fucking caught feelings like an idiot, didn’t I. So sue me.”
You were going to tease him but when he looked back up at you with those turquoise eyes it left you speechless. Those emotionless eyes now held so much emotion. You had changed him.
“Well I hate you.” You replied with a blush. “You’re a complete asshole and I can never forgive what you did so as repayment you have to be MY pet and do whatever I say.”
Dabi gave you a lopsided smirk and licked his bottom lip. “Good. Guess I can live with that punishment.”
“Glad that’s sorted, you fucking owe me big time.” You huffed, looking away and desperately trying not to smile.
Dabi let out a low snicker.
“That’s a good girl.”
“It’s master to you.” You snapped.
Dabi chuckled deeply again and turned away from the window.
“We’ll see.” He said casually over his shoulder before walking back to the seat in front of the office and sitting down.
You left with a shake of your head and a hidden smile and found your books in the closet before going to class.
After school you told Dabi you needed to talk to Shouto and you left with your duel haired man. Your stomach churning as you tried to formulate what you were going to say to him.
Shouto was quiet as you walked side by side.
Not knowing how to bring it up naturally you just tackled it head on.
“Sho we need to talk.” You blurted out.
“Yes Y/N?” He asked in a monotone curious voice.
“Sho, I did something really really stupid and I don’t want to hurt you by telling you what I did so I’m breaking up with you.” You said as tears rolled down your cheeks.
Shouto stopped walking and stared at you. You stopped too.
“Does this have something to do with Dabi?” He asked solemnly.
You nodded, still crying.
“Did you do something with him?” He asked
You nodded again, trying not to sob too much.
“When?” He asked.
“Last night.” You bawled, lifting your hands to cover your face in embarrassment.
“Y/N.” Shouto said as he pulled your hands down so he could look you in the eye. “I can’t say I’m not disappointed but I knew you were already developing feelings for him.”
“W-what?!” You sobbed, looking up at him.
“If I had gathered courage and asked you out sooner he may not have had his chance but I left it too long.”
“Yeah but I shouldn’t have gone to him when I was with you already.” You wailed. “I’m so stupid!”
“Y/N, we aren’t even official yet?” Shouto replied softly. “I haven’t even asked you to be my girlfriend yet… and you never actually responded to me kissing you, you never confessed back to me…”
“You’re being way too understand right now Sho, why are you being so nice?” You sobbed.
“I just want you to be happy, Y/N.” Sho replied gently with a soft smile. “If Dabi makes you happy then I will be happy.” Then his expression darkened. “But if he hurts you…”
You snort-laughed and wiped your tear stained eyes on your sleeve.
“You’re too good for me Sho.” You said with a broken smile.
“I’m still here for you Y/N, I appreciate your honesty in telling me straight away and not trying to hide it.” He said, “and if you ever get sick of Dabi…” he added with a slightly mischievous tone.
You laughed, “you’ll be the first to know.”
“Good.” He said with a sly smile.
