Touched Chapter 81: The Perfect Rainbow Visitor

“I’ll be back in to check on you later, Y/N,” the doctor said with a smile, “congratulations on your little one.” 

“Thank you.” You said as you awkwardly picked up your baby and cuddled him to you, his white wings falling open over you. 

Little Hiyoko buried his face into your hospital gown, eyes shut and mouth open, as he rooted around to try and find a nipple to attach to. 

“W-What’s he doing?” You asked as you watched him trying to find something. 

“I… I don’t know? Is he hungry?” Hawks asked, looking over the bed rail.

“Umm? I’m… I’m not sure?” You replied.

Just then the nurse walked in.

“Hello, Y/N,” she said, looking at your chart. “I believe it’s feed time?” She said gesturing to your little wiggly bundle. “Do we have a name for your little bub yet?” 

“Hiyoko.” You said proudly, “Hiyoko Takami.” 

“That’s a beautiful name.” She said happily. “Shall we feed him?”

“Oh… he’s hungry?” You asked as you looked from her back down to him. 

“Yes he’s looking for a nipple.” She said with a smile. “Let’s get you set up for feeding then, hey?” 

Hawks sat back and watched with wide eyes as the nurse instructed you on how to breast feed Hiyoko for the first time and in no time he was attached and feeding beautifully.

“He’ll feed for a while now.” The nurse said gently, “I’ll be back later.” 

She left and you smiled at Hawks.

“Look at me! I’m a mum!” You said proudly.

He chuckled.

“You’re doing amazingly.” He said looking down at your boobs. “Gotta say, I was jealous of that nurse copping a handful as she was helping you get him attached though.” 

You snorted.

“Mmmmmm.” He hummed, staring at your swollen boobs. 

“These aren’t for you!” You replied, “these are for Hiyoko.”

“Can I have a turn after he’s done?” Hawks asked cheekily.

“No!” You replied with a playful pout.

Your winged hero chuckled and leaned in to kiss you. 

“You did so well baby, I’m so proud of you.” He said as he stroked your hair and looked lovingly down at Hiyoko. 

“Are you looking at the baby or my boobs?” You asked with a deadpan look on your face. 

“Well, like, they’re right there so…” Hawks said. 

You laughed.

Later that evening after you had finished feeding Hiyoko, wrapped him in the blanket again, and put him back in the crib, Hawks got a call from uncle Anthony and Brian. 

“Hawks here.” He said as he answered the phone. 

There was a pause then he smiled. 

“Yes, yes she’s fine, and he’s fine too…”

Another pause.

“Hiyoko Takami.” He said as he looked up and gave you a wink. “Yes sure, come around.” He added as he ran his fingers through his hair. “Ok, see you soon.” 

He then hung up the phone and looked at you.

“They’re coming, be prepared for Brian.” He said with a laugh, “he’s so over excited. All I could hear was him screaming in the background.” 

You giggled. 

“Our little one has the BEST uncles ever.” You said with a smile. 

Another 1/2hr and uncle Anthony and Brian entered the hospital. 

You knew that they had entered because you could hear Brian as he came down the hall. 

“Where IS he?!” You heard him ask the staff excitedly.

“Who?” The nurse asked back.

“The MOST beautiful baby in this hospital of course!” Brian replied with the most offended voice ever, like he felt personally attacked by the fact that they didn’t already know your Hiyoko was the most beautiful baby in the establishment. 

You then heard uncle Anthony jump into the conversation and ask for you and that’s when Brian entered your room with the biggest rainbow coloured blanket you had ever seen. 

“Oh my god?” You said with a laugh as he handed it to you.

“Where is my baby?” He squealed while flapping his arms, “where is he, where is he??” 

“He’s here Bri.” You said with shy excitement. 

Brian sashayed over to the hospital crib and did the most exaggerated gasp with melodramatic hand to mouth gesture you had ever seen; then promptly burst into tears.

“Brian? What’s wrong??” Your uncle asked as he ran over. 

“He’s perfect! He’s perfect!!” Brian wailed, “look at his little face! He is an ANGEL! Can I give him a snuggly-wuggle?” He said in a baby voice. 

“Of course!” You said with a little giggle.

Brian very gently picked up the little sleeping baby bundle and whimpered as he cradled him gently, mumble-singing a song by Beyoncé.

“Congratulations Y/N.” Uncle Anthony said softly as he walked up beside your bed and leaned over to give you a hug. 

“Thank you.” You said with a tear filled smile.

“Are you ok? Tell us the story.” He said pulling back from you. 

“Umm I…I don’t remember much of what happened?” You said, scrunching your eyebrows together. “I remember what happened at home and the ride in the ambulance then… umm…”

“Then she was trippin’ and told me she had 3 legs.” Hawks said with a laugh.

“I did?!” You said with surprise, not remembering anything you said while on the happy gas.

“Yep, and you friend zoned me.” Hawks added with a smug smile. 

“I did WHAT?” 

“Ooooo tea!”

“I’m sorry, did you say friend-zone?”

“Yeah she called me, ‘me’ and said I looked friendly so she wanted to be friends.” Hawks said with a bright smile. 

“Oo honey-bun you a savage in labour.” Brian said with a wry smile as he continued to cuddle Hiyoko.

“Can I have a hold?” Uncle Anthony asked softly as he held his arms out towards Brian and your bub.

“Uh, uh, boo-boo, it’s my turn now.” Brian said, pulling Hiyoko closer to himself protectively. 

Uncle Anthony looked dejected.

“It’s ok, uncle Anthony, it’s ok, you’ll have a turn soon.” You said as you reached out and patted his arm. 

“So, story! Tell us the story!” Uncle Anthony said, turning back to you. 

“Umm ok, so… my waters.. were they my waters?” You asked Hawks.

He nodded.

“Broke at like…”

“1am.” Hawks interjected.

“Thank you…” you said, then continued. “Then I was in pain under my ribs and the ambulance turned up at…”

“1:30am.” Hawsk added quickly. 

“Thank you.” You said again, then continued again. “And they put me in the ambulance… then… umm… noise?…. and then white light and someone spoke to me then I woke up and now I’m here.” You said with a confused look on your face.

“Hold up, Queen, white light did you say?” Brian asked. “Never go towards the white light! Stay in the rainbow, doll.” 

“Umm well I don’t know what happened?…” you said hesitantly, looking at Hawks.

Hawks had a strange look on his face and cleared his throat a few time before speaking. 

“The nurse…” he said softly, “said you were bleeding internally.” 

Brian gasped.

“And they forced me out…” Hawks added in a small voice. “You had passed out, the monitor was going crazy… I didn’t know what was happening, I was on the outside of the surgery doors… I saw them use the shock machine…” 

“The doctor did say I died…” you said in a small voice, the tension in the room becoming heavy. 

Hawks looked up at you again, tears pricking the corner of his sharp golden eyes. 

“I almost lost the most precious thing in the world to me.” He said in a wobbly voice.

This set you off and you burst into tears as Hawks got up and ran over to you again, hugging you over the bed rails.

You heard sobbing and looked over to see Brian bawling his eyes out. 

Uncle Anthony looked terrified, not knowing who to console first. 

Seeing that Hawks was with you he then opted to console his boyfriend, wrapping his strong arms around him while Brian still held Hiyoko. 

“It’s ok Bri, it’s ok.” He said gently.

“I WANT A BABY!” Brian wailed.

“Wait? What?” Uncle Anthony said with a surprise. “I thought you were crying about Y/N?”

“I was but then I’m also crying because this baby is so precious and I want one!” He wailed again. 

“Lord.” Uncle Anthony groaned.
