Touched Chapter 70: Wrapping Up

Dabi took a hand from his pocket and placed it on Rei’s head gently as she continued to sob against his chest. Hawks could see the villain’s heart was being shattered into a million pieces at being reunited with his mum and he smiled softly.

“I can’t do anything to mend my friendship with Touya without his heart being softened by his mum.” Hawks thought as he looked away, “makes me homesick to see my own family again.” 

He hopped up and walked over to the window, looking out while Dabi and Rei talked for a little while. 

After they had chatted about the past and caught up on some things generally Hawks turned and gave Dabi a look.

“Looks like I have to go.” The ravenette grunted as he stepped back from his mum. 

“Will I see you again?” Rei asked gently.

“Dunno.” The turquoise eyed male replied as he shot a side glance at Hawks. “But it’s been good to see you again.” 

“I agree.” Rei said with a gentle smile. “Thank you for coming to see me.”

“Welcome.” Dabi grunted, looking away to stop himself from crying. 

Hawks walked over and handed Dabi the invisible serum again. He drank it and Hawks and Rei watched as the scarred hottie disappeared slowly. 

“Thank you for coming.” Rei said softly to the winged hero, with tears in her eyes. 

Hawks nodded with a small smile and he and the invisible Dabi left.

Once outside Hawks stopped in an alleyway nearby.

“I have the invisible serum here.” He said, reaching into his pocket

“I don’t want it yet.” Dabi grunted darkly, his voice straining slightly. 

“You ok, man?” Hawks asked.

“Fuck off.” He replied, sniffing slightly.

“There’s something about mums that pulls out the soft side in us.” Hawks thought tenderly as he waited for Dabi to compose himself. 

The winged hero leaned up against the wall and tucked his hands in his pockets, letting out a small sigh.

“Do you remember that time I told the in charge my quirk was acting up and shot a round of feathers at his ass… looked like a, fucking, badminton shuttlecock.” He said with a chuckle.

There was a long pause. 

“I got detention for a week for telling him they’ll come out by themselves if he crowed like a rooster.” 

Hawks burst out laughing.

“It was worth it though, right?” He said as he tilted his head back and looked up at the sky. “Man we did some crazy shit.” 

“Yeah.” Dabi grunted, “pass me the serum.” 

Hawks reached into his pocket and handed Dabi the small vile, waiting while he drank it. 

Slowly Dabi materialized again. 

“So I’ll see ya round.” Hawks said as he smiled at Dabi. 

“If I ever see you again it will be too soon.” Dabi replied with a smirk as he turned to leave. “I expect an invite to your stupid kid’s first birthday.” He added, glancing back over his shoulder at Hawks. 

“I’ll tell my kid to call you uncle staple.” Hawks called out. 

“Fuck you Keigo, that name is lame.” Dabi replied, holding his middle finger up overhead as he walked off and disappeared. 

“Well it’s as good as it’s gonna get at this stage.” Hawks thought as he smiled and flicked his wings, shooting straight up between the two buildings.

“WHAT DO YOU MEAN HE’S GONE?!” The president shouted at poor guard who had been elected to tell her that Hawks was no longer in his cell. 

“He’s not there anymore.” The guard replied, slightly confused at why she didn’t seem to understand.

“I know that, you IDIOT.” She snapped, “go and find him!” 

“Uh, w-where do we start looking?” He asked stupidly. 

“HIS HOME?!” She said sarcastically and loudly. “I DON’T CARE WHERE YOU CHECK, HE NEEDS TO BE FOUND!” 

“O-Ok.” The guard replied sheepishly as he scurried off.

At the same time this conversation was happening, Hawks had entered the police commissioner office.

“Hawks!” The high ranking officer said with surprise as the winged hero entered. “You look a little worse for wear, you ok?” 

“Just fine chief.” Hawks replied as he reached his hand out to shake the officers hand. 

“What can I do for you?” The commissioner asked. 

“Well, I have some pretty damning evidence against the president of the public safety comission.” Hawks said with a small smile. 

“Regarding??” 

“Character deformation, harassment, arrest without a warrant, intent to harm a quirk user for the sake of using their quirk for personal gain, illega-.”

“Woah, woah!” The police commissioner said with a chuckle. “You’re going to have to explain from the beginning. Come and sit down.” 

“I’d love to but would you mind sending a squad to my house now?… I mean, immediately.” Hawks said, his face growing serious. 

“Is everything ok Hawks?” The commissioner asked hesitantly. 

“No, I fear for my pregnant wife’s safety.” He replied, his golden brown eyes snapping the commissioner into action. 

The commissioner quickly grabbed for the phone and called a squad together. 

“Head to the address I tell you, NOW, and arrest EVERYONE THERE, UNDERSTOOD?!” He barked into the phone, looking back up at Hawks. 

Hawks nodded. 

The commissioner then gave Hawks’s address and sent the squadron on their mission before hanging up the phone. 

“Don’t worry,” the officer said reassuringly to the winged hero, “she’ll be ok.” 

Hawks nodded again.

“Thank you I appreciate it.” He said with a smile.

“Now.” The commissioner said, sitting down in his chair, “please explain the situation.”

“Gladly.” Hawks said brightly as he took a seat.

At home you awoke to the sound of someone knocking on the door. 

“Nooooooo please go away!” You groaned internally as you pulled the covers further up over your head, hoping they would just leave. 

There was another knock then a loud scuffle.

You pulled the covers back and listened as you heard someone yell: “POLICE, YOU’RE UNDER ARREST!” 

“Oh thank god!” 

There was a little more noise then slowly everything quietened down. 

You must have fallen back asleep again because the next thing you knew you awoke to find Hawks crawling onto the bed, gazing at you lovingly. 

“Keigo.” You mumbled happily as you stretched your legs out, “you’re back.” 

“I am.” He said with a smile as he leaned down and kissed your forehead. “And I have some good news.”

“What’s that?” You asked as you snuggled closer to him as he lay down beside you. 

“You, my baby girl, are cordially invited to the court date of the president of the public safety commission.” He said with a chuckle. “I’m getting her put away for good, and have the silent quirk registry disbanded.” 

“What?!” You gasped happily. “Really?!” 

“Yes really.” He said with a smile as he stroked your head lovingly. “You won’t have to hide anymore, our baby will have a happy life and we can live freely.”

“I-.” 

You burst into happy tears, sobbing into his shirt as he held you. 

“It’s all over now baby.” He said then he changed subjects, “we still need to go to the doctor and have this little one scanned.” He added as he tenderly placed a hand on your belly, “I can’t wait to meet our baby.”

You continued to sob happily as the two of you snuggled up together in the bed, a soft red wing covering you both.

“You nervous?” Hawks asked you as you both walked up to the doors of the gynecological doctors office.

“Yeah.” You said softly.

“Don’t be, I’m here.” He said as he took your hand and reached for the door to push it open.

You both entered and waited to be called for by the doctor. 

Finally he called you both into his office and got you up onto the examination bed there.

“So, we have a little hero in the making, do we?” The doctor asked happily as he indicated for you to pull your top up. 

He applied some lubricant on your tummy before placing the ultrasound probe on your belly. 

“Aaand there’s your little one.” He said as a little grey image came up on his computer screen.

“It’s like a little…a little.” 

“Chicken nugget!” Hawks said excitedly.
