“Shhhhh!!” You hushed as you raced up to her, elated that you got to shush someone.
“What in tarnation?!” The old guy yelped in his old man voice, being woken abruptly from his sound sleep in the armchair. “Be quiet this is a library!”
“Exactly!” You whispered in a hushed tone.
“Name.” Hawks growled lowly as he held her tight.
“Fuck you. I’m not telling you my name.” She growled back as she was walked to the front of the library, followed by you.
“Come with me baby I need you.” Hawks whispered over his shoulder to you. “Sir, my apologies but I need A/N for the rest of today, she successfully coordinated a citizens arrest and she will need to fill out paperwork at the police office.” Hawks said authoritatively you Mr Bofa who had come out of his office and was looking most confused by the whole thing.
“Oh sure Hawks, anything for a hero.” He said as you left to go with your winged hero.
“Do I really need to fill out paperwork?” You asked Hawks curiously.
“Nope.” He replied, “I’m taking this matter into my own hands but I’ll need your help.”
………………….
After getting you and this mysterious woman back to your place Hawks tied her hands behind her back and sat her down in one of the lounge room chairs.
“What happened?” Hawks whispered in your ear as he backed up to you.
“S-she said my name, my real name,” you whispered back fearfully, “I.. it caught me off guard and I let my cover slip a bit by accident but then I quickly touched her with my quirk and made her doubt what she had heard then I rang you.” You said.
“I’m impressed baby, well done.” Hawks praised in a hushed tone, “that was very quick thinking.”
“Thanks.” You said softly as he kissed you.
He then turned his attention back on the woman who was glaring at you both from her seat.
“You’re working for the 2IC.” Hawks said matter of factly to her.
“Go to hell Hawks.” She snapped.
“Hell? You mean your home town?” He replied smuggly. “Come now, I wouldn’t be so smart mouthed if I were you.” He said as he reached behind him and plucked out a blade feather.
You gasped.
“H-Hawks, p-please…” you said fearfully as he spun the blade in his hand, wielding like an expert.
“Don’t you think we should dispose of her like I did the others?” Hawks said casually over his shoulder to you.
The ladies eyes widened as she realized the two agents that hadn’t returned had been killed by Hawks, and the look on your face proved to her that the winged hero wasn’t messing around.
“Fine,” she said quickly, she then gave her name and details about how she had been sent to scope you out and see if you were really the Y/N they were after, then voicing that she had made a mistake because you were A/N.
Hawks gave you a sly look as if to say ‘it worked’ and handed his blade feather to you.
“Well looks like you have made a mistake but if I ever find you or anyone else snooping around me or my wife again you’ll wake up back in your hometown of hell, do you understand?”Hawks asked as he walked over and untied her.
She nodded rapidly.
“Go.” He said sharply as he pointed to the front door.
She got up and ran for the front door, leaving immediately.
Hawks came up behind you and hugged you around the waist while you held his blade feather in hand.
“You look hot holding that.” He said lowly as he kissed your earlobe.
“W-were you going to hurt her?” You asked fearfully as you looked at him over your shoulder.
“Nah, of course not.” He said with a smile. “I had a few options.” He added as he calmly took his blade feather from your hand.
You turned around and hugged him.
“If she had remembered you as Y/N I would have handed her over to the police for them to hold her as evidence for the next step in my plan now that your dad is behind bars.” He said casually as leaned his blade feather up against the wall. “But since she is convinced she got the wrong person I’ve used her as a decoy so she’ll go back and tell them you’re not Y/N.” He said proudly. “That should keep them off our backs for a bit.”
You smiled as you squeezed him.
“Plus I planted a feather on her so I’ll have ears on her when she gets back to the head quarters.” He said with a chuckle.
You giggled and shook your head.
“You think of everything Hawks.”
“Gotta be one step ahead.” He said, tapping his head with his finger. “I’m just proud of you for using your quirk so quickly, well done.” He praised again as he kissed your lips.
“Thanks.” You replied bashfully, accepting his kiss.
“I was in the middle of heading into enemy territory before you rang.” Hawks said matter of factly to you, “I managed to find the League of Villains hide out and was about to make contact with them to find out which one the 2IC was in contact with but then you were more important. I’ll stay home with you today then try to make contact tomorrow.”
“Ok, thank you.” You replied gratefully.
………………………..
[2IC’s Office]“Boss!” The woman, who had tried to nab you, called as she entered his office. “It’s definitely not Y/N, her name is A/N and Hawks is very protective of her.” She said as she sat down in a chair there.
The 2IC grit his teeth.
“Damn it.” He growled, “you’re sure?”
“Positive.” She said with a nod of her head. “I had doubts at first but now I’m sure.”
The 2IC looked at her closely.
“Stand up.” He said gruffly.
She stood up.
“Turn around.” He ordered.
She did so.
He walked around his office desk and plucked the red feather Hawks had planted, from her hip pocket and stomped on it, snapping the feather’s spine and ruffling the plumes.
“Get this fucking thing out of my sight.” He barked to one of the other guys who was in the office.
The poor agent scurried to his feet and took the mangled feather, racing out the door with it.
Back at home Hawks scrunched his nose in annoyance, he had been listening in on the conversation at the 2IC’s office and was pleased with how the conversation had been going so far, until they had found his feather and contact had been lost.
“Seems as though Y/N’s quick thinking fooled them but we’re not out of the woods yet, she’ll need to be careful.” He thought as he reached an arm around you and pulled you into his side, kissing the top of your head.
Little did he know that back at the 2IC’s office the 2IC himself was redoubling his efforts.
“If Hawks is being protective then he’s HIDING something! I KNOW it’s her and I’m going to prove it.” He growled.
“How you gonna do that boss?” One of the agents asked.
“I’m going to talk to her father and get him to tell us about a scar or other marking that I can use to identify her.” the 2IC said.
“But he got taken in and jailed for criminal quirk offenses.” The agent replied.
“I’ll just talk to the warden and get him to let me talk to him for a minute.” The 2IC said, “simple.”
“Ahhhh good one.” The agent replied with a smirk.
……………………….
The next day you were back at work, still on guard and ready to use your quirk at any given moment.
Hawks had given you one of his feathers to keep in your pocket just in case you needed him too.
He was still on a mission to make contact with the league so he could expose the 2IC’s plan and hopefully get the in charge killed.
“After I’ve got the 2IC removed from the picture my last step is to abolish the silent registry, then Y/N and I can live a free life.” Hawks thought as he took to the sky, heading to the hideout he had found yesterday.
