You bounded through the door that afternoon after Brian dropped you back home, squealing excitedly.
“I got the library job, Hawks!” You squealed as you ran in and jumped into his arms.
“Heyyy!” He replied with a chuckle as you barreled into him. “Well done! When do you start?”
“Next week on Monday!” You replied happily. “I’m really excited because I don’t have to talk to anyone and it’s expected for everyone to be shushed.”
“How did I not see that coming?” He said as he kissed you. “I’ll drop in on your first day.” He said with a cheeky smile.
“No don’t!” You replied, “you’re going to cause trouble, I know you.”
“Awww no fair.” He replied playfully. “Well I have more good news for you.”
“Really? What’s that?” You asked as he slid you down his front and placed you back on the ground.
“I’ve just spoken with the police commissioner and I’m having your dad tried at high court this coming Wednesday. I have enough evidence against him to put him away for good.” He said with a bright smile.
“Y-y-you……really?!” You said excitedly, immediately breaking down in tears.
“Baby? Baby it’s ok? Are you ok?” Hawks asked tenderly with confusion.
“I’m so happy!!” You wailed as you hugged him, “this is the best day ever! Does this mean I won’t be hunted down any more?!”
Hawks hugged you back then crouched down so he could look at your face and wipe your tears away.
“It’s the first step, my beautiful girl, we still have a little way to go and a few more people to take down but getting your dad jailed for what he did to you and your mum is vital for this to work.” He said as he tenderly kissed your lips, wiping more tears as the fell.
“Oh… I … I thought this was the end.” You said as you sniffed heavily.
“Not quite baby but we’ll get there, I promise.” He said as he hugged you again. “Stay strong, I won’t let anything bad happen to you but you still need to keep your guard up.” He warned.
“So do I get to be there when the judge sends him to jail?” You asked.
“Well… that’s the thing. We can’t take you in because if you attend as Y/N, but have this new haircut and colour you’ll blow your cover.” Hawks said regretfully. “I’ll be taking your mum, Brian and uncle Anthony in as witnesses; them, coupled with the psychologists reports, are sure to get him jailed for a very long time.”
“Yay!” You said excitedly, “I’d pay good money to watch Brian take him on.”
“I’ll give you a running commentary when I get back from court.” Hawks said with a laugh as he stood up.
Day of trial arrived and your man was looking sharp as he stepped out of the bedroom and into the lounge room in a suit.
“Oh!” You gasped as he tipped his glasses and smirked at you over the top of them.
“Like it baby?” He asked coyly as he pointed to his outfit.
“Mmhmm.” You hummed with a giant blush on your cheeks.
“If you’re good I’ll be your lawyer tonight for free.” He said with a wink.
“That doesn’t make sense.” You replied with a chuckle.
“Neither does you not taking me up on the offer.” He leered as he grabbed you around the waist and picked you up against his body.
You squealed and giggled in his arms as he kissed your lips then put you back down.
“Good luck.” You said positively, “get that asshole put away for good.”
“Oh that’s my one and only plan for today, baby.” Hawks replied with a smile. “I won’t be satisfied till he’s permanently behind bars.”
You smiled gratefully with tears in your eyes.
“Thank you so much.” You whispered.
It was a long day as you waited for Hawks to come home so you could ask him how it all went.
FINALLY the door opened and in Hawks walked, followed by uncle Anthony and Brian. You quickly turned on the couch and kneeled up, leaning over the backrest to see them.
Brian, as you could imagine, was chatting away excitedly as they entered and you tried to catch onto what he was talking about as he strutted into the house.
“…and then when Hawks started reading out that list!” Brian said in an overtly excited voice as he held a hand up then closed his fingers to his palm, “ooooooo honey his wig was SNATCHED! I swear I saw it fly all the way to mars.” He said with his very Brian laugh.
“I took great pleasure in reading out his list of offenses and pointing them out in the rules and regulations book.” Hawks said with a lopsided, self satisfied grin. “I’ve never seen anyone look so pissed, and he even tried to quirk the guard!” He added with a disbelieving laugh.
“What!?” You gasped, as you caught up to the conversation.
“Yeah!” Hawks said with a chuckle. “That was the nail on the coffin because he was caught in the act.”
You giggled and clapped your hands gleefully.
“Honey yo man is ah-MAYzing,” Brian said as he walked around the lounge and flopped down in the seat beside you, flicking one leg up and over the other. “Come and tell ’em boo-boo.” He said, indicating for Hawks to come and sit down so he could tell you the full story.
“Why is he boo-boo now?” Your uncle Anthony asked sullenly as he walked over and sat down on the other side of you so you were between the two men with Hawks sitting opposite.
You turned back around and slipped down into the seat, feeling safe and happy between your uncles.
“Because he is MVP today so he gets boo-boo.” Brian replied unapologetically to your uncle.
“I wanna be boo-boo.” You heard your uncle Anthony mumble under his breath as he sulked beside you.
“It’s really odd to see such a manly man sulking at not being called boo-boo.” You giggled internally.
“It’s ok uncle Anthony. I’ll call you boo-boo.” You whispered to him.
“It’s not the same.” He huffed and you giggled, patting his arm.
“Bri-Bri.” You said softly to the flamboyant rainbow to your right, “uncle Anthony is really sad.”
Brian glanced over at uncle Anthony and reached a hand across you to his knee.
“Sorry bunny fluff, I’ll give boo-boo back to you after Hawks has had a turn, we share in this house.” Brian said as he turned his attention back to Hawks.
Uncle Anthony cracked a small smile. He seemed happy with that reply and Hawks was free to retell the story of your dad being put away for good.
“It’s a lifetime sentence.” Hawks said at the end of his story, “it would have been shorter if he hadn’t quirked the guard but because he did, the judge extended his incarceration time.”
You smiled and sighed happily.
“Well, that’s him gone.” You said, “how was mum was she ok?” You asked, remembering she had been one of the witnesses.
“She did really well.” Uncle Anthony said from his spot on your left, “she stayed strong the whole time and told it how it was.” He said with a smile.
“Oh that’s wonderful.” You replied happily. “What an awesome day.”
Later that night in bed you asked Hawks what he planned to do next.
“Well, the next parts might be tricky, I have to get in touch with some villains to get someone else taken out.” He said bluntly. “It’s not a hit job, I’ll just let them know that they were about to be subjected to a spy infiltration, then give them the name of the person who was intending to see it happen.”
“Will that work?” You asked curiously.
“Well, it’s my only plan at the moment.” He replied, “we’ll just see how it plays out.”
