“You’re ok with me being here?” You asked softly, your back pressed your against the wall while he trapped you in with his arms.
“Of course I am?” He replied, somewhat surprised by your question. “What kinda question is that?” He laughed.
“N-no well…. you were about to hand me in and-.”
“You thought I was seriously gonna hand you in?” He asked, almost hurt by your accusation. “I couldn’t do that.”
“B-but that’s your job?” You replied.
“To hand innocent people over to a corrupt government?” He asked, the offendedness in his voice very apparent. “Please.” He scoffed, “they expect me to just do their bidding without asking questions? I don’t think so.”
“But I don’t understand?” You asked, knitting your eyebrows with confusion. “What’s your job then?”
“My job?” Hawks asked with a sexy half smirk as his eyes flicked from your eyes to your lips.
You blushed and bit your bottom lip.
“My job is to protect people I care about.” He said lowly as he leaned in closer to you. “I dance to the beat of my own drum.” He uttered in a low tone as his lips connected with yours, his tongue brushing across your bottom lip and causing you to squeak in embarrassment.
“Too much?” He asked with a small chuckle as he pulled back, then he smiled. “You’re safe here Y/N.” He said softly. “I won’t let them get you.”
You nodded.
“Go and have a shower if you like, relieve some of that tension.” He said gently as he kissed your lips lightly once more, “I’ll make us some food, you cool with chicken?”
You giggled at his unexpectedly funny question.
“Sure.” You said with a smile as you looked up at him.
“Ahhhh.” He said tenderly as he too one had off the wall and grabbed your chin in the palm of his hand, “that’s that smile I’ve been missing.”
You blushed again.
“Go on, make yourself at home.” He said as he let you go and stepped back.
You were confused, numb, you didn’t know what to feel.
Mechanically you turned and walked out into the living room and open plan kitchen, looking around.
“You like it?” Hawks asked as he came up behind you.
You nodded.
“Bathroom is over there chicken.” He said as he pointed towards a door. “And here’s your other bag and phone.” He added as he swung your bag off his shoulders and pulled your phone out of his pocket.
“HAWKS!” You gasped, “No, no, no now they’re going to track me to your place!” You wailed as you took your phone from his hand.
“I turned it off, chicken, it’s all good.” He said with a wink. “Don’t turn it on though,” he laughed, “I took it so they can’t use it to gleen information about you, or see our sexts.” He said casually as he put your bag down.
“S-Sexts! We never sexted!” You said in embarrassment, covering your mouth with your hands as he walked over to the kitchen and started pulling things out to make dinner.
“Not yet we haven’t.” He leered back at you with his head lolled over his shoulder.
You blushed furiously and looked down at the floor, not knowing what to say.
He chuckled deeply.
“Go have a shower baby I’ll have dinner ready when you come out.” He said with a wink.
You nodded and picked up your bag, scurrying to the bathroom and entering then flicking the lights on and closing the door as you spun and pressed your back up against it.
“I’m in his house, I’m in his house, I’m in his house oh my god don’t panic.”
You looked around the bathroom and saw a little handwritten sign hanging from one of the towels.
“Chicken’s towel.” It read.
“Wait… did he know he was going to bring me back here??”
You walked over and gingerly stripped off before hopping into the shower.
The water felt amazing and you looked at some of the products he had.
“So that’s why he smells so good.” You thought.
Just then a red feather landed on you and stuck to you immediately because of the water.
“HAWKS!” You screamed, “I SWEAR TO GOD IF THIS FEATHER IS RELAYING IMAGES!”
You heard him burst out laughing from outside the bathroom door.
“It’s not I promise!” He yelled back.
“THEN WHY IS IT IN HERE YOU PERVERT!”
“I needed a reason to come in!” He yelled cheekily, “Can I come in and get my feather?”
“NO!” You screeched.
“Awww.” He pouted, “ok I’ll just get your clothes.”
“I HAVE MY BAG HERE WITH MY CLOTHES IN IT!” You called back.
“Ah damn,” he grunted, “you’ve thought of every thing.”
You giggled.
Hawks heard you giggle and smiled to himself.
“At least that cheered her up a little bit.” He thought as he walked back to the kitchen to continue cooking. “Best I get changed too before she comes out. Usually I do wear just pants around the house and no top but I don’t want to scare her too much.”
He walked into his room and pulled out a black shirt and baggy jeans and deployed two feathers and send them behind himself to stick the quill end through the little hole in the zipper that was below each wing hole to unzip his hero costume.
After taking his hero outfit off he then put the shirt on and sent the same feathers to do up the zipper under each wing hole then put his jeans on and walked back out to the kitchen.
…………………….
You finished in the shower and dried yourself and got changed then walked out.
Hawks was already ready for you with dinner and was waiting on the lounge for you to come out.
He was leaning forward, reading something on the coffee table with his elbows resting on his knees.
He looked up when he heard you.
“Hey. Did you have a nice shower?” He asked with a small sexy lopsided smirk, rubbing his palms together idly.
“Y-y-yes, t-thanks.”
“OH MY FUCKING GOD I CANNOT LIVE IN THIS HOUSE WITH HIM I AM GOING TO END UP HAVING HIS CHILD FUCK ME DEAD!” Your brain screamed as you stared at him in awe.
“You hungry?” He asked as he stood up.
“For you, yes.”
“Yeah … I guess…” you replied softly.
“Come on,” he said with a chuckle, “let’s eat, I haven’t had chicken since lunchtime.”
You cracked a smile.
“You had a sign on my towel.” You commented to him as he passed you a plate and gestured towards the chicken he had cooked.
“Knew I was going to have a special guest for a while.” He replied as he picked up a piece of chicken and put it on his plate.
“You did?” You asked curiously.
“It’s about time I bought you up to speed on things Y/N.” He said as he jerked his head in the direction of the table for you two to sit down at.
“Up to speed?” You asked.
“Yeah.” He chuckled, “you’ve been in the slow lane.”
“Very fitting.” You commented as you sat down.
“I know who you are and I know all about your quirk.” He said as he sat opposite you and rested his arms on the table, those golden eyes peering intensely at you. “I’ve known for a while.”
You looked down in shame.
“There’s no need to regret not telling me, I understand the situation perfectly.” He commented gently, “we have both your mum and dad in custody.”
“We?” You asked, your head snapping up and eyes locking with his. “You’re working for them still. You’re taking me in aren’t you.” You said fearfully, “this is all a ploy to get my to trust you isn’t it!”
“Calm down you feisty chicken I’m not turning you in,” he said with a laugh, “let me explain… I’m glad we’ve got all night because it’s going to take a while.”
