“Yeah actually, I’ve never seen you two hold hands or anything either.” Jirou said as she looked at you suspiciously.
“It’s still reeeeeaaaally early days for us.” You said with a nervous laugh. “Give us a break!”
Jirou cocked an unamused eyebrow at you. “Still don’t buy it.” She added dryly.
You sighed dramatically. “FIIIINE! Hey, hot headed prickle,” you called to Bakugou.
He turned and shot you a dirty look.
“These girls want proof we’re dating.” You said with a ‘so-what-we-gonna-do-about-it’ look on your face.
“I fucking told you we’re dating, yeah?” Bakugou snapped at Mina and Jirou.
“Yeah, we heard you.” Jirou said bluntly. “But where’s the affection?”
Bakugou’s scowl deepened. “Oi, walking disaster…Come here.” He said, looking at you with his sharp crimson eyes.
“What’s he gonna do. I told him no kissing. I hope no kissing! I’m gonna slap him if he tries to kiss me.”
Hesitantly you approached him.
“Gimme your hand………Babe,” he said lowly.
To everyone else it sounded sweet but you were so close you could literally feel the effort he had to put into getting that word ‘babe’ out without gagging.
You thrust your hand out like as if to give him a handshake.
He took your hand roughly and maneuvered it so you were holding hands like a couple would.
“There.” He snapped at Jirou. “Happy now?”
“Mmmmm, I guess.” She said, not particularly impressed with his display.
“Wahhhh!! I wanted a kiss!” Mina pouted.
“Oh god, she actually ships it.” You cringed.
Just then Todoroki walked in and you yanked your hand away.
“Uh, thanks……babythatwasniceseeya!” You rambled quickly, running your words together so that they would be indistinguishable as you dropped your head and power-walked to your desk then sat down.
Bakugou sat down in his chair behind you and you heard him whisper to you. “Oi. What was that about?”
You didn’t reply and just kept looking down at your desk.
After a few seconds, you hesitantly glanced up and over to Todoroki just to see if he was looking at you and you saw that he was, indeed, watching you, so you looked away quickly.
“Class is starting now, find your seats before I lose what little patience I have left.” Aizawa said from the front, just suddenly appearing there as if he materialized from thin air.
“How does he do that?!”
“We’re doing sports practice with your quirks today.” He said in the most bored tone you had ever heard. “Soccer (or football? For the Europeans)”
There was a mixture of groans and whoops of excitement throughout the class. The groans coming from those who were not particularly good at sports- you, being one of them. [If you’re good at sports then just pretend you’re not.]
“OK! Get changed into your sports uniform and get out onto the field. Another teacher will be there, I’m going to sleep.” He said and promptly walked out of the room.
“What? Man that was quick.” You laughed internally at how desperately your home room teacher just wanted to take a goddamn nap.
………….
Soccer with quirks was an interesting ordeal. Some quirks were perfect for soccer, some were not and Bakugou got red carded in the first 5 seconds for trying to blast anyone who came near the round white and black thing in the middle of the field.
He sat the rest of the game out.
You did spectacularly…terrible. As usual. And even face planted right in front of Todoroki. Which was just splendid.
He helped you up, like the gentleman he was, so that was a silver lining to your smack down, I guess.
At the end of the sports class the teacher in charge commissioned you and Todoroki to pack the soccer ball and goal nets away so after getting tangled in one and nearly cutting the circulation off your pinky finger you finally got the net down and folded it as best you could.
If you could even call it ‘folding’
You walked into the shed right behind Todoroki and put the net down next to where he put his.
“Hey uh, I know we haven’t spoken much.” You said to him, wanting to make conversation but not knowing how. “But apparently our families know each other…”
“Y/N. Seriously?! That’s the opening line you’re going for?!”
“Yes, I know.” He replied in a soft monotone voice. “I asked about you.”
Your heart jumped in your chest. “Y-you asked about me?” You stuttered as he turned to face you, his beautiful heterochromic eyes flashing in the dim light that was flooding in from the shed door- capturing his blue eye and making it sparkle.
You were mesmerized.
“Yes.” He nodded. “I feel like we’ve met before.”
Your heart skipped a beat. He was gorgeous! You couldn’t take your eyes off him.
“S-s-same here…” You replied. “Do umm, do you think we maybe met…when we were little…?”
Your voice trailed off. You felt like you were asking too many leading questions but you had a burning question that you needed answered and you almost reached your hand to your chest to clutch the ring on the chain that was hidden there under your uniform.
Todoroki opened his mouth to say something but just as he was about to speak you saw a shadow fall across him and he looked past you to the door.
You turned around to see who it was and Bakugou was standing there.
“What are you doing with my girlfriend.” He seethed at Todoroki.
“Last time I checked, she didn’t have your name on her.” Todoroki said back coolly. “I can talk to her if I want, and she is free to talk to me too.”
Bakugou growled and stalked into the sports shed, grabbing you by the arm and dragging you out.
“Let go of me, you bitter melon.” You barked.
“You can’t be alone with him in a shed! What’s that gonna look like?!” Bakugou snapped back at you.
“Who cares!” You retorted. “This is all fake anyway it’s just stupid!”
“Oi!” He hissed. “Keep your voice down.”
“WHY?!” You yelled.
“You have the hots for icyhot don’t you!” Bakugou snapped at you, changing subjects quickly.
“I-I do not!” You snorted, stammering with embarrassment.
“Then why are you wasting time talking to him?” Bakugou replied, crossing his arms and raising an eyebrow.
“You’re just jealous KatSOOKIE.” You huffed.
“Ha! As if!” He replied, spinning on his heels and marching off. “I’m walking you home today too so don’t fucking move until I’m there with you.” He called back over his shoulder.
You just stared at him as he walked off, hands shoved deeply into his pockets.
“What the fuck, kind of a mess is my life right now!?”
