You had a bit of a restless sleep that night, every time you woke up you felt that tightness in your chest come back but you tried your best to just push it aside and focus on something else…Like go over your lines for the play.
The next day at school the class had a rehearsal and there was a bit of extra happiness in the air as your classmates flitted about, getting some of the props and stage lights up.
Uraraka’s anti-gravity quirk was working wonders for getting the lights up to the beam across the top of the stage and you watched as Sero taped them in place before climbing down.
“Ok, Y/N! Let’s get you up in the tower and do a few scenes. Start with Act 2, Scene 1.” Momo dictated, looking at the script.
You nodded, walking around behind the tower prop and climbing the ladder to get to the makeshift landing that was set up, as the tower hadn’t been fully completed yet.
You cleared your throat.
“O Romeo, Romeo, wherefore art thou!” You hollered clearly and poetically.
“What the fuck, woman?! I’m right here! You don’t need to shout!” Bakugou yelled back at you from somewhere behind the stage.
“Learn your bloody lines, you haemorrhoid!” You bellowed back at him. “You’re ruining the play!”
“I’m making it better, we’ve been over this before!”
As you two continued to bicker and banter Kaminari, Sero and Jirou sat in the audience seats, watching on.
“Ahhh, this play is going to be amazing.” Kaminari sighed blissfully.
“It’s….definitely different.” Sero added hesitantly.
“It’s a train wreck, that’s what it is.” Jirou said in a deadpan voice.
Momo walked up to them and sat down next to Jirou.
“What do we do?” She sighed sadly. “The play will never come together at this rate.”
“Don’t worry, I’m the narrator remember!” Kaminari quipped, leaning forward in his seat to look at her. “I’ll have everything under control.” He added with a cheeky smile, a wink and a thumbs up.
“It’s like giving a toddler control” Jirou commented.
“A-are you meaning Me?” Or???” Kaminari asked, looking at Jirou.
She just turned her head painfully slowly and stared at him with a dead look in her eyes.
“You have absolutely no faith in me.” He said with a dramatic sigh.
Momo leaned forward and put her face in her hands, moaning pitifully as she rested her elbows on her knees.
…………..
The days counted down to the play and you had developed a new habit to curb the strange tightening feeling in your chest and pulsing heart rate- Flicking your hands.
Both Shouto and Katsuki had noticed this but neither of them had asked you about it as it just seemed to happen sporadically and for short bursts then you would stop and focus on something.
Two days out from the play you and Katsuki were due for a dress rehearsal.
Momo was in charge of outfits and she called you into the dressing room to show you the outfit she had designed and made for the play. She had taken your measurements earlier so that the dress would fit perfectly.
You walked in and gasped when you saw what she had made.
“Momo! It’s gorgeous!”
“Isn’t it?!” She squealed proudly, clapping her hands excitedly at your reaction. “Try it on!!”
You stripped down and she helped you into it, zipping it up at the back.
You looked up into the mirror in front of you and covered your mouth with your hands with silent delight.
“It’s amazing!” You finally said.
“I’m so glad you like it!!!” She said again with a giant smile. “Now, I just need to get Bakugou in here to put his on.”
“I’ll get him.” You said, turning and stepping out of the change room in your gown.
You walked down the hall to the stage area and entered.
“Oi! Aggressive firework! You’re up!” You called, locating Katsuki in the room, he had his back to you.
“Hah?!” He snapped spinning around to give you a piece of his mind but he stopped short when he saw you.
“What?” You replied casually, seeing his dumbfound expression.
“Nothing.” He snapped, a light blush dusting his cheeks as he turned his head to the side.
“Ok, well you need to get into your outfit.” You said.
He walked over to you, intending to walk past and out the door but you grabbed his arm and his head snapped over to you as he peered at you intently.
“What?!” He snapped
“You’re lying about the ‘nothing’ part.” You teased cheekily, using his own line against him.
You weren’t really excepting him to answer you but he did.
“Tch. Fine.” He mumbled, still with the blush as his eyes averted. “You look fucking amazing.”
Your heart fluttered and you let go of his arm as he walked past you and on down the hall.
………………
Finally Bakugou returned in his outfit and you almost had a nose bleed.
He had on a plain white shirt that was open at the front and cut in a ‘V’, showing off his decent set of pectoral muscles.
Parts of his collarbone were visible too and the sleeves were rolled up just enough to show off the lower portions of his biceps.
His pants were a tan brown colour and although the colour itself wasn’t amazing the way Momo had cut it, was.
Your eyes lingered on his body for just a split second too long and he smirked as he caught you checking him out.
He stalked towards you and wrapped an arm around your waist to your back, dipping you slightly as he pulled you into him.
“Juliet likes what she sees.” He said lowly as his crimson eyes smoldered with the pride of knowing you liked how he looked.
“That makes us even then.” You replied with a devious smirk.
He huffed in amusement and let you go.
“Ok let’s practice.” He grunted.
As he walked away you watched his perfect ass in motion.
“I wonder how Shouto would look in that outfit?”
You looked across to where Shouto was helping with some things and he caught you looking at him, taking the opportunity to come over.
“You look amazing, Y/N.” He complimented you.
“O-oh, thank you, Shouto.” You said shyly.
“OI! You coming, pizza roll?” Bakugou called from the stage.
“I…better go.” You said sympathetically to Shouto as you headed for the stage.
Surprisingly Bakugou was better at his lines this time, occasionally throwing in the odd swear word here and there but it was much improved from previous practices.
