You looked at Bakugou then back to Shouto.
“Wait…I’m so confused….I don’t remember having the ring then losing it though, I just remember a boy giving it to me and saying—.”
“Y/N…when we get older, will you marry me?” Shouto said softly, interjecting and proving that he knew the line.
Your mouth fell open.
“T-that’s what the boy said.” You whispered as your sparkling eyes met his.
He nodded softly as he gazed at you.
“Fucking, big deal.” Bakugou interjected. “It doesn’t mean anything now because you’re my girl.”
“Listen! I’m not your girl! You don’t own me! This fake dating thing is only going to go on until my grandma…” your words faltered and you pursed your lips together. “And plus Shouto knows we’re faking so there.” You said.
Bakugou’s eyes shot open.
“Since when did fucking, icyhot kn—.”
“Since I told him, ok?!” You snapped, getting more and more frustrated with this situation.
You turned to walk between the two boys but Shouto put his arm out to stop you.
“Y/N, I—.”
“NO! SHOUTO! You lied to me…why did you lie to me?!” You shot at him, hot, angry tears spilling down your cheeks. “You told me you didn’t give me the ring but you obviously did…”
You pushed his hand aside and stormed past, breaking into a run and heading for the girls toilets.
Your heart ached, for so many reasons.
One) the adrenaline of Bakugou finding out that he had been at the wedding and had given you the ring.
Two) the way he had boxed you in like that and had literally just confessed his feelings (in his own weird tsundere way), was hot as hell and not gonna lie, you were hella turned on by his dominance and confidence.
Side note: Was he gonna kiss you?!
And 3) Shouto had lied to you! Your trustworthy prince had shattered his perfect image. Why would he have done that?
So many mixed emotions spilled forth and you didn’t know how you were going to look them in the eye for the rest of that day.
“You know what? I’m done with today. I’m out bitches, I’m going home.”
And with that, you snuck out of the bathroom, grabbed your bag from the lockers and ran home.
………….
“Y/N! You had better have a good reason for being home this early!” Your mum yelled as you entered the house.
You had texted her that you were coming home early and had promptly ignored all of her following texts after you had sent your first one.
“This reason, is the god of all reasons!” You called back, trying to keep up your cheerful facade.
Your mum rounded the corner and took one look at you and sighed, her face showing her concern. She knew something was wrong.
“Ok, who do I need to murder?” She asked with a sympathetic smile. “What happened Pee Wee?”
Just the way she softened and used your nickname made you fall apart and you burst into tears.
She walked over and hugged you. “Are you ok?” She asked softly, patting your head.
“Noooo.” You wailed. “I’m terrible at decisions and right now I think I want two husbands.”
“What the heck, child?” She replied with a laugh. “I thought this was serious?”
“It is!” You wailed again. “Why can’t I have two boyfriends?!”
“Y/N! You’re not making sense?”
You tearfully told her about what had happened in the stairwell and how all the new information had overwhelmed you.
“It’s just too much now, I don’t know what to do?” You sighed, wiping your eyes.
“Ahhh it’s tough being beautiful hey?” [Mahirup maging pogi- for my filo readers lol] Your mum said with a chuckle.
“But that’s what I don’t get?! I’m a potato?! Why they fight over potato? Potato fight? Non comprende!” You said, making weird hand gestures.
“Potato kink?” Your mum offered.
You deadpanned. “Ok, that’s the weirdest thing I’ve ever heard you say. But still, what do I do?!”
“I don’t know, Hun.” Your mum replied with a sigh, “but don’t apply for a polygamic wedding because it won’t work.”
“Ugh, fine, rain on my parade.” You said with an eye roll as you moped up stairs to your room.
……………
“Y/N!! There’s someone here to see you!” Your mum called out later that evening.
“I’m watching my anime husband be amazing for 10 minutes, can they come back later?!” You called back to her.
“His name is Shouto Todoroki.” She yelled back.
You screamed then yelled an apology and came flying down the stairs.
It was indeed a very lowkey flustered looking Shouto Todoroki, standing awkwardly at the door twisting his bag strap nervously in his hand.
“H-hello Y/N, pardon my intrusion but there’s something I need to apologize for.” He said softly as he hung his head.
“Uh, c-come in?” You stammered, showing him into the lounge area.
He nodded and followed you, sitting stiffly down on one of the seats.
“Oh! Water! Drink? Drink! Do you want anything to drink?” You asked, fumbling for words.
“Oh, no thank you, I’m fine.” He said, still semi avoiding eye contact.
“Umm, ok so what’s up?” You asked, sitting down in a seat adjacent to him.
“Y/N, I feel terrible that I lied to you, that was wrong.” He said, “I only told you that it wasn’t me because I thought it would get in the way of your promise to your grandma. I know how much you love her and I didn’t want to interfere… but then when I heard Bakugou confessing…” he blushed and looked away. “I knew I needed to tell you, and Y/N…” he added, looking back into your eyes. “If you will have me, I intend to stay true to that promise that I made to you on that day.”
Your heart skipped a beat and tripped on its untied shoelaces then fell face first into your guts.
“Did Shouto just propose to me?!”
“Uhh, umm wow. Ok, this has been a big day with a lot of information to process so thank you for apologizing and explaining and for umm…the promise… I just, I can’t make any decisions right now…”
“I completely understand, Y/N, and this is certainly not the right time for me to be pushing for an answer so all I want to say is that I will be here for you no matter what.”
You smiled and relaxed.
“Thanks Shouto.”
“You’re always welcome, Y/N.” He replied with a soft smile.
