“That can’t be right…” You said, almost lifelessly, like your whole life was now a lie. “I…I was so sure it was Todoroki…”
“Well you did remember what he looked like? You knew the description?” Your aunty pressed.
“Yeah, but that only because I go to school with him now. In the dream I keep having of what happened that day, I can’t remember what he looked like. All I can remember is his smile. And it was an amazing smile.” You said dreamily. “There’s no way it was Bakugou that gave me that ring as a child. It’s basically impossible!”
“Hmmmm, so why does he have the ring here, though?” Your aunty said with a raised eyebrow, pointing to the picture.
“I don’t knowwww.” You wailed. “But I’m going to find out once and for all.”
The next day at school you were on the warpath. Well…detective path, to be more precise, but you looked aggressive.
“Yooooo.” Mina greeted you, “you look like you’re about to stab someone.”
“I am.” You said purposefully. “I’m either going to stab someone OR I’m about to get stabbed in the heart, with some truth I don’t want to hear.”
“Girl, I do not understand you but I support you, so do your thang.” Mina said as she plopped down in her seat ready to start the school day.
You walked back to your seat and sat down, glancing back at the door occasionally to see if Bakugou had arrived yet.
Soon enough he sauntered in with his bag slung over his shoulder and dropped it by his desk as he sat down.
“Oi. Good morning, girlfriend.” He muttered as his backside hit the seat.
“Ok listen here, anger on a stick, we need to talk in first break so meet me in the equipment shed.” You said, spinning around in your seat to face him.
“Who says I need to do as you say?” He snapped, scowling at you.
“It’s important.” You said, narrowing your eyes at him.
“Tch, fine.” He grunted, settling back in his seat and closing his eyes while placing his arms up behind his head.
First break came and you got up from your seat and made a bee-line out the door, down to the equipment shed and waited for Bakugou.
You walked to the furtherest end inside the small shed and sat down on a pile of gym mats, waiting for him to arrive. It didn’t take long before his form blackened the doorway and you sharply told him to come inside.
“What’s so important?” He grunted as he sat down opposite you.
“Umm….” “oh shit I haven’t even thought about how to ask this question?!” “I have a question?”
There was silence from him as he studied your face. You looked a mixture of concerned and embarrassed and he didn’t quite know how to read that emotion.
“Yeah?” He said lowly. “What is it?”
“Umm…do you have any memory?”
“HA?! The fuck kind of question is that?!” He exploded.
“Shit, that was a stupid question.” “NO! I mean, does the word… ‘ring’ …bring anything to mind?”
Bakugou looked at you. “What’s she saying? Does she want me to propose?! What the fuck?!” He started to blush slightly.
You saw the blush before he turned his face to the side quickly.
“Umm, well I know what you’re talking about but I don’t want to bring it up just now…” He said.
Now it was your turn to feel that rush of blood to your face. “Wait, so he remembers the ring?! AND THE PROMISE?!” You thought, clearing your throat before continuing. “Y-you umm, so it was you?”
Bakugou looked back at you, slightly confused. “Was me, what??”
“That made the promise?”
“Stop messing around, Baka-go.” You fumed, you weren’t in the mood for games.
“OI! I’m not messing around.” He said sharply, standing up. “What exactly are you talking about???”
You paused. “Wait, so he doesn’t remember? What was he talking about before then? I’m confused?”
You both stared at each other silently. Suddenly the equipment door was pulled shut and locked.
“W-Wait!” You yelled, jumping up to run to the door to get whoever it was that locked it, to open it up.
Bakugou must have had the same idea and had started to turn towards the door as you jumped up, causing you to slam into his side, knocking him off balance as you tripped over his leg and fell onto him.
He had spun his top half and grabbed you as he fell backwards, cushioning your fall on his body as his back hit the mats.
“O-ouch.” You said, “that must have hurt?”
He grunted, slightly winded by the fall but ok, never the less.
You tried to push up off him but he still had his arms wrapped protectively around you.
“B-Bakugou, y-you can let go now…” you said, slightly embarrassed as your eyes adjusted to the darkness and you looked down at him.
He groaned and his hold on you lessened but you were kinda captivated by his eyes in the darkness and you didn’t move.
He tried to sit up and propped his torso up, dragging his arms back and leaning on his elbows, bringing his face up just inches from yours.
“Oi.” He said lowly as your faces came dangerously close to one another, your breathing hitched as you felt his hot breath on your neck and jaw. “Get off.”
“I c-can’t…” you replied.
His leg came up between yours and pressed firmly right between your legs, causing you to squeak a little as you jolted forward, your noses nearly touching.
You saw him glance at your lips, then suddenly the door was flung open.
Both you and Bakugou looked over to the door at the same time.
Todoroki was standing there, panting. “Y/N, found you, are you o—.”
You and Bakugou were in a very, erm, suggestive position. With you hovering over his body and he with his leg bent up between yours, leaning back slightly on his elbows.
“Todoroki! It’s not what it looks like!!” You screamed.
He just stared with his mouth ajar slightly.
You tried to jump off Bakugou but being vertically challenged you fell and twisted your ankle on the way down, knocking over a heavy duty broom and some buckets, sending them all crashing down on top of you.
“Y/N! Are you ok?” Todoroki called as he raced into the shed to help you up.
“Ah!” You hissed. “I…I think I’ve twisted my ankle…and bruised my arm…”
“Hold onto me.” Todoroki commanded, wrapping an arm around you, “I’ll take you to the nurses office.” He helped you up and held you protectively against himself.
