It was close to another hour before Tensei decided to check and see if the meeting was still in process.
“Seems to be a long court case.” He thought as he left his room and casually strolled down the hallway towards the study. “He must be fighting tooth and nail to get as much as he possibly can from those lowlifes… unless he’s also going after the father as well. He did tell me about what had happened…”
Nearing the closed study door, Tensei paused and listened. Upon hearing no noise from inside he knocked softly.
There was still no sound so he knocked a little louder, a frown pulling at his lips as he pressed his ear to the large wooden door.
“Tenya?” He called, “you in there?”
He reached for the handle of the door and tried to turn it but it was locked.
Something was definitely wrong.
“Shit.” Tensei mumbled, knocking louder and yanking on the door, “Tenya?!”
Immediately he fled the scene, bolting down the hallway back the way he had come and aiming for the stairs.
“Walter!” He hollered as he tore down the stairs, “get the keys for the study. The door is locked and Tenya is still in there but he’s not responding.”
Walter immediately stiff-maned into action, running as best he could for the security office where the spare keys were kept while Tensei ran outside and looked up at the study window.
“Window is closed. I’m hoping that means that no one has climbed the building and gotten in. They wouldn’t be able to get past the walls or dogs without being noticed anyway.”
Tensei was on high alert; fearing that his brother may have been knocked off by the associates of the people he was convicting of crimes towards Y/N.
Back inside the house you had just finished being fitted in a lovely (not by your standards) [colour] dress. You hated it with a passion but under much verbal protest you allowed it.
“This is for you, Iida, fuck you. I hope you get a nosebleed over it.” You seethed as one of the girls fixed the back of the dress, making you stand straight as she adjusted the straps while you stood on the fitting block.
Suddenly you heard Tensei yelling in the hall- something about Iida, and your heart sank.
“Wait.” You said to the girls who were attending you. “Stop.”
You put your hands out to stop them as you listened for more but Tensei had already run outside.
“Something’s wrong.” You said as you jumped off the fitting block and ran for the door, dress hiked up as you made your daring getaway.
“Miss! Wait! Please!” Two of the girls cried as you yanked the door open and ran out onto the landing.
You spotted Walter with keys in hand running for the stairs and ran down the hall to meeting him as he got to the top.
“What’s wrong? Where’s Iida?” You asked as you dropped the front of your dress long enough to ask him the questions.
“Study.” He wheezed. “Door locked. Not responding.”
“Shit.” You snapped, turning and running ahead of Walter. “WAIT! I don’t even know where the study is?” You shouted back to him.
“Ahead, ma’am.” Walter puffed, doubling over slightly as he pointed a shaky finger down the hall. “Big wooden door on right.”
You turned and yanked the front of the dress up again and ran, looking for the hallmark big door and stopped when you got to it.
“IIDA!” You shouted as you banged your fists on the door. “IIDA! ARE YOU THERE?”
Inside Iida was just starting to come too. He tried to move but seering pain in his injured arm rendered him immobile.
“Y/N.” He groaned in pain.
“THANK GOD.” You shouted back, “what are you doing?!”
Just then Walter arrived with the keys and started fumbling with them to find the one for the study door and Tensei came running back inside after his check to make sure there was no foul play from outside.
“Did he answer?” Tensei called as he ran towards you and Walter.
“Yes.” You shouted back, “he said something about his arm.”
“Pain?” Tensei called.
“Iida, is your arm sore?” You shouted at the closed door.
“Yes.” You heard him reply.
Finally Walter got the door open and you burst through.
Iida was lying on his back now, cradling his arm- still in the holding cast- as he gritted his teeth and scrunched his face up.
“What happened?” You asked as you crouched down beside him in your dress.
Iida paused, all of the pained expression from his face fading as he stared at you and looked down at your dress.
“You’re beautiful.” He said with soft earnestness.
“No, I’m not, this dress looks ridiculous.”
“No. I mean it.” He said with complete honesty.
“What happened?” Tensei asked as he walked over to the other side of Iida.
“I fainted.” Iida replied bluntly to his brother, immediately looking back at you again and just staring.
“Can you not look at me like that?!” You huffed with embarrassment, “it’s weird.”
“My apologies.” Iida said as Tensei helped him sit up. “You truly look breathtaking.”
“Stooooop.” You wailed, smacking your hands to your cheeks, “you’re not right in the head you must have hit it really hard.” You said, trying to explain why he was complimenting you so much.
“I assure you I only speak the truth. I am of sound mind.” Iida said as Tensei helped him stand.
“Tensei. Take him back to the doctor for more pain meds then get him to the physio.” You directed. “Do you have a psychologist here as well? Take him there too.” You teased with a smirk.
“Dr. Kawaiihead?” Tensei asked. “Yeah, I can make an appointment with him if you like he needs it?”
“Dude.” You deadpanned. “It was a JOKE. How many specialists do you have here?”
“Just the essentials,” Tensei replied with a wink.
“I doubt that.” You replied suspiciously. “Anyway, just get him help while I get out of this stupid dress.”
“Please don’t.” Iida begged, “please?”
Your heart spun and did a plié and you looked away.
“Guess I’m already in it.” You grumbled, trying to cover your happiness at how much he liked it on you, “should probably just leave it on until the end of today then I’m never getting back into it again.”
Iida smiled softly at you as Tensei escorted him from the room and off down to the doctor’s office, his head twisting back over his shoulder awkwardly so he could still look at you for as long as possible.
“Idiot.” You huffed internally, your heart a flutter at the way he was looking at you.
After he had properly left, you went back to the fitting room to let the girls there fuss over you.
