The King allowed you to put your clothes back on, and then you shared a small smile between each other before you left for the night, relaxed and elated that you had made such progress with the King.
As you drifted off to sleep later that night you suddenly remembered that you needed to deal with the women who had treated you badly a few days prior.
“I will see them tomorrow and if they show remorse for what they have done then I will deal with them kindly. But if they are still bitter towards me then it may not be a happy ending for them,” you thought as your heavy eyelids closed and your body gave itself to the subconscious.
……………………………………
The next morning, you got up and called for Hinata to join you on your mission to the maid’s quarters and he arrived quickly, curious to see why you wanted to go back down there, especially after your last ordeal.
“King Kageyama has allowed me to direct the punishment of those who wronged me,” you said to the orange haired attendant.
“He did?!” Hinata asked, still surprised with every new thing that the King did.
“Yes.” You nodded.
“Well… what would you like to do?” he then asked expectantly.
“I would like to go and see them,” you said.
“Is that a wise decision?” he asked, “I do not think they will want to see you again so soon…”
“Would you and captain Daichi accompany me?” you asked politely.
“Yes, of course, it would be an honour!” Hinata replied with a vigorous head nod, “heaven forbid anything should happen to you!”
You gave him a polite smile and put your head covering on to go and see the women again.
As you left your room, you asked him some more questions regarding the women and what had happened to them since the fight.
“They were given lashings, and put into confinement,” Hinata said sternly, “the guards did not take kindly to hearing what they had done to you.”
“The guards?” you asked with a curious head tilt, “but I do not know them personally? Why would they have acted protectively?”
“It is well known, Y/N. Your positive influence on King Kageyama, along with your beauty and perfect manners,” Hinata replied with a smile, “we are all ready to die for your sake. You are highly regarded here.”
You placed a hand to your lips to cover your smile. You hadn’t realized the extent of your influence in the kingdom.
As you got closer to the chambers, captain Daichi accompanied you, giving you a polite bow before falling in step beside you.
“We will be here to protect you, Y/N,” he said in a gentle yet firm voice, “I, personally, will not let any harm come to you.”
“Thank you captain,” you said with a polite smile and he blushed with happiness.
At the chambers, Shimizu came out to greet you and bowed low.
“Please allow me to apologize once more for the events that took place—,”
“Please,” you interrupted her with a hand raised modestly, “I do not blame anyone for the events that unfolded, although I would like to speak with the women who wronged me.”
“Yes, of course,” she replied, stepping to the side so she could lead you to where they were still being kept in confinement.
There were a few women in each stall and you quietly walked to the first one and let your presence be known.
The first two women in the first stall were: the bitchy one who instigated the fight by throwing the wet garment, and the one who had gouged her nails into your face.
Both women looked very beat up. The one who had scratched you was so weak she was unable to get up from where she was lying on the sandstone floor.
“Be gone with you,” the bitchy one croaked, “if you laugh at my demise I will see you in hell.”
“Even in your state you still find the energy to insult,” you berated her gently, “I came to see if you had changed your ways… but it appears you have not.”
The women on the floor looked up and you and then let her head fall back to the ground.
“If I find favour in your eyes, Y/N, please let me die. It would be the kindest gesture,” she said weakly.
“Bring her out,” you said to captain Daichi, pointing to where she was lying feebly on the floor.
He nodded and unchained the door then walked in and picked her weak form up in his strong arms and bought her out.
“Please see that she is seen to right away,” you said to him.
He nodded and called for the physician snd medial team to assist her.
Once she was taken away, you spoke to each of the other women in the other stalls and determined who was genuinely remorseful for how they treated you, and who was not, and if they tried to apologize for their actions you very quickly saw to it that they were treated by the medial staff.
But those who damned your very presence… you left to rot in their cells.
Hinata and captain Daichi were in awe of how gracefully and fairly you conducted yourself during the visitation of the women and commented to each other about how they would love for you to become the acting queen.
“I do not know how to convince the King to make her his queen. I know she has found favour in his eyes but as to making him take the next steps…” Hinata said, pondering this dilemma as they walked together after having escorted you back to your room.
“Hinata… I may just have an idea,” captain Daichi said as they walked back to the front of the palace.
“What is it?” Hinata asked excitedly.
“I will approach the King this evening,” Daichi said with a smile.
……………………………..
That evening you prepared yourself in case you were called to service the King. Truth be told, you were very much looking forward to seeing him again. You were starting to fall really hard for him.
While you were beautifying yourself, Daichi was approaching the doors to the King’s room.
“My King,” he called loudly as he approached the double doors.
“Come,” King Kageyama called to him.
He entered and dropped down onto one knee with head bowed.
“What is it, captain? More news?” King Kageyama asked as he dressed for the evening.
