“Umm, yeah? Ok. What are we shopping for?” you asked her.
“It’s a secret but I need you with me,” she said with a cheeky wink over her bright glasses, her rosy cheeks making her eyes sparkle even more.
“Ok… I’m suspicious… but in a good way,” you said with a smile.
“Good! Ok now you go and do your work and we can discuss this later,” she said with a happy little chuckle as she let you go and do your thing.
You were on a high that night at work.
Everything was finally coming together.
But you were worried that there was going to be repercussions. There were always repercussions.
“Everything is going good again so I have a feeling that that ONE bad thing is going to happen… what could it be though?”
That night, after work, you told Kenma about staying at Lolita’s place and also going shopping with her on the weekend and he nodded.
“She’s nice. I like her.”
“Yeah, same, she’s got fun aunty but also mum vibes all in one,” you said with a smile, “I know I don’t earn much but if I pay her $5 each week for having me it’s something at least… and then I have another $10 for myself.”
Kenma turned his head away from you so that you wouldn’t see his small smile.
“I like Y/N the way she is but she’s getting a little more responsible… she’s even thinking of paying board. I don’t even need to do that.”
You and Kenma spent some more time kissing and touching that night and you fell asleep with a smile on your face.
Life was good right now. Life was very good right now.
The next morning you were up early.
You didn’t want to get up when you had just woken up so you rolled out of bed and onto the floor so you could sneak into Kenma’s bed for a little bit.
Kenma, the cat, was sleeping at the end of your boyfriend’s bed so you had to shift him off, which he was most upset about but forgave you once he had settled on your bed over the spot where you had slept- seeing as it was the warmest spot.
Your man stirred as you crawled under his covers and then opened an eye as you popped your head up through the top, your body ontop of his.
“Morning!” you greeted brightly.
“Hi Y/N,” he whispered softly, his voice still asleep as he reached his arms around you and pulled you down onto him for a hug.
You snuggled down but had to shift aside as he re-arranged himself. You knew what it was that he was adjusting and he seemed to be really shy about it so you didn’t make mention.
He smelled so nice in the mornings, like a musky sleep smell and you pressed your nose into the side of his neck and inhaled.
“That tickles,” he said in a raspy voice as he crinkled his neck down to avoid any more potential tickles from you.
“I didn’t know you were ticklish!” you said with excitement, ” I wonder if I can make you laugh?”
“Don’t,” he warned, trying to push you away now.
“Awww, no, I want to hear you laugh!” you said, reaching down to poke him in the ribs.
He crunched sideways away from you and put his hand out to stop you but you were on the tickle war path now and had your target set and locked.
“Ittt’s TICKLE TIME!” you announced excitedly.
“No. It’s not. No! Y/N, don’t!” he begged, swiping his hand around frantically to block your attacks but you were an expert at tickle attacks and managed to get through everything he threw at you.
“You’re going to have to really increase your defense, Kozu!” you challenged him, “where’s your volleyball defense skills!”
“They are different! They won’t work in this situation,” he replied, throwing the blanket around erratically as he tried to escape from the bed now that he couldn’t escape your tickling.
“No! Don’t leave me!” you laughed, holding onto him to stop him from leaving.
He had left himself wide open for a second and you took the opportunity, making him let out a small giggle in the process.
“I got a laugh!” you gasped with delight.
“No!” he replied, struggling to get away from you.
He finally broke free and you let him go, wailing as he rolled and crawled away from you.
“Come baaaack, I’m lonely,” you pouted.
“I’m not coming back until you promise you won’t tickle me again,” he stated, staring at you through his sleep messed up fringe.
“Promise,” you said, opening your arms out to invite him in.
He crawled back over to you and you embraced him and sighed happily with a smile on your face.
“I love you, Kozu…” you said softly.
“I love you too, Y/N,” he replied, leaning in to kiss you on the forehead.
That weekend, you organized to meet with Lolita. Kenma was really happy that you were going with her. He hadn’t wanted to go so this was his perfect out and he planned to spend the day at home with the cat, just playing his PSP and chillin’.
“Hi Lolita!” you greeted the animal shelter receptionist politely as you bounced up to her at the shops. She gave you a warm smile, “so… what are we here for?” you asked.
“Ah! Well… I need to you find an outfit,” she said with a delighted twinkle in her eye.
“An outfit? For you?” you asked.
“No, sunshine, for you! For your prom!” she replied excitedly.
“Oh but… the clothes are expensive and I don’t have the money… I was actually thinking of telling Kenma that I couldn’t go and then maybe we could have just stayed home or something… I was going to use my dad’s money to buy the outfit but I don’t want anything to do with him so I definitely won’t be asking him for money,” you said, rambling away.
“No, honey, everyone deserves to go to their prom so I am more than happy to fund your outfit. Please let me do this one thing for you,” she said.
“But you’re already going to let me stay in your studio so this is too much that you’re doing for me!” you replied, “oh, and I’m going to pay board by the way… but I can only give you 5 dollars a week.”
