“I-n-no!? No! I just, well he gave me his number so that I could call him if I needed him.” You said defensively.
“Well best call him then.” Hansu replied, staring back at the computer screen.
“W-why?” You asked, pulling yourself up and stumbling forward towards the computer.
You looked over Hansu’s shoulder and your blood ran cold.
The first line of your program encryption had been altered and contained the following phrase.
[“I have no master, I am in control, I choose my own destiny and I chose to end you.”]“Fuck.” You whispered as the hair on the back of your neck stood on end. “What have I done.”
“Sealed your doom?” Hansu replied sarcastically.
Really Hansu, really? A joke? Now?” You deadpanned.
“Sorry.” He chuckled. “Listen, don’t worry, we’ll get you some protection while we look for Goha. I guarantee we’ll find them before they find you.”
You thought for a moment.
“I hope you’re right, Hansu.”
…………………….
Hansu contacted the police and the closest hero agency to arrange for some kind of protection/body guard for you and explained the situation briefly.
The closest hero agency agreed to send a hero out to watch you but they had to fill out paperwork so they wouldn’t be able to commence their duty of protection until the following day, which left you vulnerable for that night.
“I’ll stay with you tonight until they send you a hot, blond hero to watch over you.” Hansu said. “I’m not a fighter but I’ll be able to hold Goha off while you run.” He said.
You smiled.
“Thanks Hansu, I’ll take it. I don’t want to be alone in my apartment at a time like this anyway.”
“Ok, done.” Hansu said, “it’ll only be for tonight, then you’ll have your hero watching over you until we can find Goha.”
“That’s fine.” You said with a smile.
…………………………
That night Hansu came home with you. He had been to your place before but there wasn’t that comfortable air between you two like there usually was. You were a bit tense, constantly wondering if Goha was going to try and come for you that night.
“Can you stop pulling that face?” Hansu said with exasperation as he sat a cup of tea down in front of you. “I’m not going to let Goha get you, don’t worry.”
“Ok.” You replied blandly, “sorry it’s all I can think about.”
“Although this is a potentially life threatening situation at least you have an opportunity to learn from your mistakes because up until this point… you haven’t made any.” Hansu said snidely as he brewed his own tea, dipping the tea bag a few times before removing it. “Could have told you you shouldn’t mess with a robot but that’s none of my business.” He added, raising the cup of tea to his lips and taking a long sip. “That’s good tea.”
You sighed, completely ignoring his tea reference.
Hansu waited but you didn’t acknowledge his joke so instead he sighed heavily.
You sighed again in response to his sigh.
“Are we just going to spend all night sighing?!” Hansu commented as he took another sip of tea.
“No… well… I don’t know?” You replied bluntly. “What else is there to do?”
“You know what, you’re right. Let’s just sit here and sigh.” Hansu said with determination.
You sighed again.
“Damn it, Y/N, put some music on or something.” Hansu said with exasperation. “Then, at least, we can sigh to a decent song.”
You got up and walked over to your home computer.
You plugged your finger into the USB port to download a song you had shazamed earlier and committed to memory; then froze.
“Y/N?” Hansu asked when he saw you go rigid.
You didn’t reply.
“Y/N?” He asked again as he got up and started walking over to you.
You started spasming and he ran to your side, ducking down beside the computer and switching it off at the power point.
You collapsed.
“Fuck!” He spat, “fucking twice in one day!” He growled as he checked your vital signs quickly before rolling you into the recovery position. “What’s going on?!”
After a few minutes you came too and groaned.
“Hansu?” You grumbled, “what happened?”
“You blacked out again, that’s what, stop fucking sticking your finger into sockets.” He growled.
“That’s the whole point of my quirk…” you deadpanned in a ‘just woke up voice.’
“Listen, something is wrong, don’t connect to anything until I can figure out what is going on.” Hansu grumbled angrily.
He checked you over again and then sent you back to the kitchen while he checked the computer over.
You stared down at the table, wondering what the hell was going on.
Hansu came back in a few minutes and sighed as he entered.
“Is sighing your new way of communication or something?” You asked cheekily. “There’s too much sighing going on today.”
“Ok well, everything seems fine with your computer… Y/N, I think… I think either something is wrong with your quirk or?…”
“Or what?” You asked curiously.
“Goha is somehow behind this?” Hansu mused.
“What?! How?” You asked, confused.
“Well, your computer is fine. I ran the virus detection program on it and there are no viruses. Everything is working fine… so it must be something with you. Maybe they are targeting you through computers?” he said with a confused shrug.
“How would that work?” You asked.
“Is a copy of Goha’s program on this home computer too?” Hansu asked curiously.
“Yeah actually it is?” You said, “I’ll open it.”
“Wait!” Hansu said quickly, “I don’t want you passing out on me again, I’ll open it.” He replied.
You and he walked over to the computer and he bent over and paused as his fingers hovered over the keyboard.
“The programming has a password doesn’t it.” He said, looking up at you.
“Oh! Yeah it does.” You replied, “I usually just plug myself in so it just bypasses it and lets me enter without the password.” You said with a laugh. “But I don’t mind telling you, I trust you Hansu.”
“Yeah, yeah, ok, enough sentimentality, now whats the password?” He asked with a wave of his hand.
You told him and he typed it in.
The program box popped up and the coding started to read itself down the screen. Hansu scrolled back to the top of the encryption and you inhaled sharply.
[“there is nowhere you can go, that I won’t find you.”] It read.“Fuck. Hansu, I don’t like this at all.” You said in a soft fearful voice. “Goha is serious.”
