“HELL YEAH!” One of the injured players called out enthusiastically, pumping their fist up and down as they watched Butterfli3 prepare for another attack while the Pterodactyl careered off course from the nest and banked hard, turning surprisingly quickly and heading back for another go at the lithe number one player.
“Here she comes again!” Migata called, making a seal with his hands and holding the charge as Pants approached Butterfli3.
“NOW! MIGATA!” Butterfli3 shouted, leaping to the side and rolling out of the way then jumping up and throwing his right arms up in the air.
You looked and saw that he had some kind of electrical conductor strapped to his wrist and as the Pterodactyl approached him, Migata discharged a surge of lightning, the shard making a straight line across to Butterfli3’s conductor and attaching to it, shocking the giant monster bird as it flew through it and past Butterfli3.
“It worked! It worked!” O/N screeched excitedly as she jumped up and down and clapped her hands together, “my Lightning Sphere worked!”
You looked back over your shoulder to see where Pants had gone and saw the health bar of the bird had taken a hit, bringing it down significantly.
“O/N! I’ll need to strap the Sphere to the end of my sword.” Butterfli3 called to her, “can you please make me some insulating gloves?!”
“I’m on it!” She shouted, opening up her inventory and pulling stuff out quickly to make some protective gloves so Butterfli3 wouldn’t get shocked.
As Pants circled, planning her next attack, Migata took a ‘defy’ potion from the group’s shared inventory and drank it, then stepped into the dome, readying himself for the next attack that he would coordinate with Butterfli3.
As he stepped inside the nest the black and blue portal from level 40 began to pulsate behind him and a roar could be heard clearly from within it.
“Migata! Close the portal!” O/N shouted.
“It’s supposed to just close on its own?” Migata called back as he turned around, “I don’t know how to close it!”
Just then a velociraptor poked its head through the cloud then stepped through, flexing its little claws and looking around.
“Oh shit.” O/N monotoned in fear.
“Fuck!” The player, she had been attending to, spat, as he quickly got up off the ground and held a hand out in a stop motion towards the dinosaur like in the Jurassic park movie.
Two more velociraptors stepped out from behind the first one, either side of the original one and the player stepped back and put his other hand up, pretending to hold them at bay.
“Chris Pratt, ain’t got nothing on me.” He yelled.
O/N’s mouth was on the floor as she stared at the 3 new dinosaurs who had just casually walking through the portal.
“Uhhh… GUYS?!” She shouted, aiming to grab the attention of Migata and Butterfli3 but Migata had already seen what had happened and had his hands pressed up against the inside of the dome.
Butterfli3 looked over and immediately opened his inventory, drank a ‘defy’ potion; then shot – at the speed of light, through the glitching barrier and grabbed O/N before turning and running towards the edge of the branch and flinging himself, and her, off the edge.
“Don’t worry, he’s fine!” Migata hollered at you as he kept his hands pressed to the inside of the dome, “he’ll be back… I hope?” He added, turning back towards the three velociraptors and trying to shoot some fire balls at them but the attacks just fizzled as they hit the inside of the dome; leaving the player on the outside to his own devices.
“So attacks work from the outside and can come in but attacks from the inside can’t go out…” Migata mused to himself, before shouting at the player outside the dome. “Teleport! Teleport!” He cried, trying to open his inventory to get another ‘defy’ potion; but it was too late.
Two of the velociraptors lunged at the player and bit into his neck and side, making his health bar deplete rapidly from green; to yellow; to red, then freeze and shatter, bursting into a million shards of shining crystals.
“Oh no.” Migata whispered sadly, slightly distressed that he hadn’t been able to help the player.
The velociraptors then looked up at Migata inside the dome and started to stalk towards him.
“Get back!” You shouted, “they’re from the same level as the defy potion! They can get through the dome!”
“I don’t know if they can?” Migata mused as he took a cautious step back anyway, followed by a much LARGER step when the first velociraptor poked its head through the wall of the dome and roared- its roar being replied by Pants who was now making her descent.
“Now I know how people feel when I use my quirk and poke my head through a wall!” Migata cried as he ran back a few steps to get his bearings and figure out a plan.
“Take out these three quickly, then prepare for Pants!” You shouted. “Best to take these out first!”
Migata heard you and called forth a trident type weapon, wielding it skillfully as he spun it in hand then turned and swung it around his body; using the momentum of his turn to strike it across the chest of all three velociraptors.
An almighty cacophony of noises erupted from the injured dinosaurs and two of them tried to lunge at Migata, who ducked and cast a weighted spell on them so that their movements were slowed down, allowing him to get back to a good position so that he could strike all three again with one swing.
The second strike to the chest of all three did more damage than the first strike and he turned on the last one; stabbing the end of the trident into its chest and making it explode into crystals.
A small notification popped up in the middle of your vision and you focused on it to see what it said.
[VELOCIRAPTOR DEFEATED!]EXP: 80 pts
MAHI: 100
“OH! That’s right I’m partied with Migata so I get half his experience points.” You thought as you watched the notification disappear.
Just then it popped up again as Migata eliminated the second velociraptor and again when he permanently removed the third.
“I have 240 EXP now!” You thought, the excitement quickly fading as Pants made her move and screeched loudly to signal her approach. “MIGATA!” You screamed, watching as he did some quick hand seals and dropped down onto one knee; his black cloak draping over his body as he held his hands up in front of his face, arms outstretched with wrists together and palms out towards the incoming monster.
“Time to freeze frame.” He called, shooting a ream of ice towards the ancient bird, making it change course at the last minute to avoid the solid mass of ice.
