Two weeks had passed since the honeymoon and you were still busy setting up home and settling into your new job.
Your period was super late by now but you didn’t think anything of it, you had been busy, that was probably it… yeah, too much on. Your body must have been out of whack a bit.
One morning you came down stairs to a horribly strong smell.
“Ugh! What IS that???” You gagged as you entered the kitchen.
“It’s coffee.” Bakugou replied with a grunt. “You always have coffee in the morning??”
“Well I’ll pass today thank you.” You replied, pegging your nose with your fingers. “What did you do Katsu? Why does it smell like that?”
“Be fucked if I know?” He said, confused. “It smells normal to me??”
“Ok well I’m going outside on the deck because I can’t stand this smell.” You mumbled out, spinning on your heels and walking out the back, closing the door behind you.
The fresh morning air was lovely and clean and you took your hand from your nose and inhaled deeply.
Bakugou came out and sat down on the table with coffee and some toast and the smell of the toast wafted towards you.
Next minute you dove for the edge of the deck and hurled your guts up on the grass, vomiting profusely.
“Fuck!” Bakugou screamed with a mouth full of toast. “What the fuck is wrong with you??”
You hurled a bit more before calming down and standing up straight again.
“I don’t know.” You said weakly. “The smell of that toast made me nauseated.”
That doesn’t sound right.” Bakugou grunted, eyeing you suspiciously. “I’m taking you to the doctor.”
“Mr Ground Zero and Mrs Bakugou, what can I do for you today?” The kindly doctor said, shaking both your hands before gesturing you to sit then taking a seat himself.
“She’s not well doc.” Bakugou said stiffly, jerking his head towards you.
The doctor looked from Bakugou to you.
“What seems to be the problem?” He said softly.
“I uh, I don’t feel very good.” You said again, looking a little pale. “Certain smells seem to make me feel nauseated. There are so many smells here that are not agreeing with me.” You said, burying your nose in your sleeve.
The doctor tilted his head curiously and looked at you.
“Is it a quirk development??” Bakugou suddenly said, his eyes widening. “Doc is she getting a quirk??”
The doctor chuckled lightly.
“Oh… I don’t think so.” He said, reaching into a draw nearby and passing you, what looked like, a stick. “Mrs Bakugou, please take this stick and go to the bathroom. I want you to urinate on this end.” He said pointing to one end of the stick. “Then put this lid back on it and come back.”
He added a few more details about how to pee on it and how long to pee for, then sent you out.
“What is that?” Bakugou asked once you had left the room. “Is she going to be ok?”
The worry clearly evident in his voice.
The doctor chuckled and looked at Bakugou.
“You just had your honeymoon, correct?”
“Yeah but I don’t see how the fuck that relates to anything?”
“Did you have a good time?” The doctor asked with a smirk.
Bakugou looked at him dubiously.
“Yeah.” He said He said suspiciously.
“Well that’s good.” The Doctor said with a glint in his eye.
At that moment you entered the room again with the stick and handed it to the doctor before sitting again.
He looked at something on the stick then placed it down on the bench in front of you both.
“We just need to wait a little longer.” He said with a knowing nod.
“What is this thing?” You asked.
“It’s a pregnancy test.” He said calmly.
“PREGNANCY?!” You and Bakugou both yelled.
“Yes, pregnancy,” the doctor said matter of factly and looked at the stick again.
He beamed and looked up at you then Bakugou.
“Have a look.” He said, pointing to the stick.
You and Bakugou leaned forward.
“What are the two pink lines?” Bakugou asked.
“Well. The doctor said. “One pink line means you’re not pregnant and two means… you are. And this here, has two. Congratulations, you’re going to have a baby.”
Bakugou’s jaw dropped and you gasped as you clamped your hand to your mouth.
“Pregnant?!?! Baby?!? You were going to have a baby??? Bakugou Katsuki’s baby?! He was going to be a father?? You were going to be a mum?”
“We’re..” you breathed out, turning your head stiffly and staring at Bakugou.
“…Having a baby..” he said numbly, finishing your sentence, still not fully comprehending the situation.
“Mrs Bakugou you may feel a little ill for a few weeks, it’s called morning sickness but can happen anytime of the day. Don’t worry too much though it will pass.” The doctor said, smiled gently at you.
He then continued to talk on about other pregnancy related things but it was all just background noise to you as you stared at Bakugou, he was staring back at you too. Neither of you knowing what to do.
“But how did this happen?!?” Bakugou suddenly screeched still staring at you, stopping the doctor mid sentence.
The doctor deadpanned and looked at him.
“Sir, do I need to explain how babies are made to you?”
Bakugou looked at the doctor and scowled slightly, falling silent instantly.
He definitely knew how this had happened, that was a stupid question on his part. He just wasn’t thinking.
You both left the doctors office a few minutes later, looking like you had been slapped with a dead fish, walking numbly to his car.
“Are… are you mad?” You whispered as he sat down in the drivers seat beside you.
You were staring at your balled up hands in your lap.
“Mad?! No of course I’m not fucking mad! I’m just… shocked.” He said honestly.
“Same.” You whispered back. “Are we ready for a baby?”
Tears welled up in your eyes. You were staring to get a bit overwhelmed.
Bakugou looked over and saw the distress on your face. “Hey! Hey look at me.” He said sharply, reaching out to take your hand.
“We’re a team yeah? Fucking soulmates. I’m in this till the end and I can’t wait to be a dad.” He said confidently. “So you look after that precious baby growing in your belly and I’ll take care of all of us, you got that? There’s no need to be scared.” He said, leaning across and kissing you on the lips as tears of relief flooded down your face.
“I love you.” You sniffed, trying your best to smile.
“I fucking love you more, ok? You’re gonna be a fucking awesome mum.” He said as he started the car and pulled out of the driveway.
Driving you and himself and the little baby in your belly, home.
