“FUCKING DIE!” You heard Bakugou seream over the roar of the incoming storm.
You looked up as he shot another explosion from his palms, this time aiming it at a tree that had been knocked over by the storm and was about to collapse on you both.
“KATSU!” You screamed in terror and shielded yourself again.
The insanely loud noises of the thunder, explosions and falling tree overwhelming your hearing.
“Please save me.” You whimpered.
Bakugou bent down and grabbed you into a bear hug, kneeling on the ground next to you.
“I know you’re scared but we need to get out of here.” He said lowly into your ear.
You looked up and nodded at him, he pulled you up to standing and held his hand out to you.
“Now RUN!” He yelled, pulling you as he took off down the track.
You followed him blindly, heartbeat pounding in your vision, a vice like grip on his hand.
“Fuck this is bad.” Bakugou scowled, glancing back at you to make sure you were ok. “The hail is coming.”
Another bolt of lightening struck yet another tree nearby and it came crashing down behind you as you both passed under it. The clap of thunder shaking the ground as you ran.
Everything was so loud you couldn’t hear your own screams.
“Shit if anything happens to her I’ll never forgive myself.” Bakugou yelled internally, his face still set in a permanent scowl.
Suddenly the heavens opened and hail rained from above, peppering you and Bakugou with grapes sized chunks of ice.
“FUCK YOU ICY HOT!” Bakugou screamed at the sky as he ran.
“Wait??… Is he cursing that classmate of his? What does Todoroki have to do with this??” You thought as you ran.
You were starting to get out of breath and your stamina was wearing thin.
“KATSU I CAN’T..”
“Fuck! She can’t stop now! It’s fucking dangerous out here!” Bakugou Panicked.
“DON’T YOU DARE FUCKING STOP!” He screamed back at you. “You can’t stop, well be killed, I can’t lose you, you
mean more than the world to me.” He screamed internally.
Another bolt of lightening struck the ground in front of you and the hail turned to heavy rain.
“FUCKING PICKACHU KNOCK OFF!” Bakugou roared at the now non existent lightening bolt, raising his hand in readiness for a fight.
“Who the hell is he yelling at now?!” You wondered, Bakugou’s random outbursts doing wonders to distract you.
Finally the end of the track appeared and you and Bakugou sprinted to the closet covering, collapsing down onto the wooden decking under the cover of the veranda.
“FUCK!” Bakugou screamed into the still raging storm.
Both of you well and truly soaked through.
“Babe….are you ok?” You rasped out through ragged breaths.
“Yeah.” He grunted, rolling his leg to the side to look at it.
You looked down.
It was only then that you saw what had happened to him. When the first tree had fallen he had used his quirk to obliterate it and smash it to pieces so that it wouldn’t fall on you but in doing so it created another problem.
Shards of wood had splintered off and had gone spraying out in all directions.
Bakugou had realized his mistake and had jumped in front of you to protect you from the wayward daggers of wood and had impaled himself down his right side in an attempt to block you from harm.
Most of the shards had pierced his leg and he looked like a pin cushion. 7 large pieces of wood were hanging out of his calf.
You took one look at it and turned the other way, vomiting. It was a gruesome sight.
“Woah!” Bakugou yelled when he saw you hurling your guts the other way. “What happened?! Are you hurt??”
“No!” You yelled back to him, refusing to look. “But YOU are hurt badly and I can’t look because it makes me sick. We need to get you help!”
You crawled to the veranda edge and peered around the side of the building, hoping to see someone, anyone, that you could call out to.
You caught sight of someone on their veranda and screamed out to them, calling to them to phone for the resort staff because Ground Zero needed help.
Just hearing the name ‘Ground Zero’ shocked the fellow resort-goer into action. Everyone knew Bakugou’s hero name and to be able to help a hero was well.. heroic.
Bakugou was less than impressed with all the fuss but he did allow the medical staff to take him back to the onsite infirmary for treatment.
You sat with him and clung to his arm, looking away and biting the inside of your cheek while the doctor removed the massive splinters from Bakugou’s leg and a few from his side.
There were a few choice words spoken from your husband but over all Bakugou was extremely brave and the doctor was amazed that he had been able to even run at all considering how deep some of the shards had gone.
“You will need to rest this leg and come back daily for a few days so I can change the dressings. One of the wounds is quite deep and will need to be packed.” The doctor said authoritatively. “That was a hell of a storm out there, you’re lucky you didn’t get hit by lightning.”
“Almost did… a few times.” Bakugou grumbled, highly unsatisfied with the doctors orders of rest.
“Glad you’re alive though Ground Zero.” The doctor said gently. “You’re one of my favourite up-coming heroes.”
You beamed at the doctor, proud as punch of your man.
Bakugou just scowled.
“True to form I see.” You smirked internally at your husband’s never changing personality.
The doctor let you go and you walked back to your villa, the storm had died down now to just gentle rain and you held the umbrella up for the two of you as you headed for your abode.
Bakugou took the umbrella from you and grumbled something about being the gentleman.
You smiled to yourself.
Inside the villa Bakugou grabbed you into a tight hug unexpectedly and buried his head into the crook of your neck.
“K-Katsu?” You stuttered, surprised by his sudden movement. “What’s wro-.”
“…I love you.” He whispered.
