His gaze followed yours and then he looked back to you and reached for your hand under the table to squeeze it.
You looked at him.
“What’s wrong?” he asked very quietly.
“I don’t recognize the person sitting next to [mutual friend of yours and Deku],” you said to him in a whisper.
He looked back up at the guy, then back to you.
“Is it her plus one?” he asked, referring to the girl he was next to.
“No,” you shook your head, “she didn’t have a plus one.”
He looked back up, eyeing the guy. Then he saw a flash of something under the table and froze.
“Go,” he said quickly to you, “go to the bathrooms.”
Hearing the urgency in his voice you quickly got up and left the room, much to the confusion of the other guests, bridesmaids, and MC who was midway through their speech.
Deku turned to Bakugou who was beside him and give him a look.
“Which one?” Bakugou suddenly asked, clicking into hero mode.
Todoroki also caught wind of something being afoot and stood up.
“Middle table, fifth one down on the right,” Deku said in a serious voice as he stood up alongside Bakugou and Todoroki.
By now, it had become obvious that something was happening and the MC stopped talking and looked at the three serious heroes who were eyeing someone on the middle table.
The person of interest suddenly realized they had been discovered and hung their head, slipping something large into their pocket.
Deku and Bakugou started heading around the wedding table one way, while Todoroki headed the other and the foreign guest suddenly jumped up and ran, his chair falling over backwards and hitting the ground with a ‘bang’ as he tore for the doors of the reception building.
Todoroki was one step ahead of him and quickly stomped out a river of ice that reached the door before the intruder did and barricaded it- forcing the man to turn and run along the wall towards the kitchen doors.
Deku and Bakugou were almost there but just missed the guy as he flew through the swinging doors and into the busy kitchen with 3 heroes on his tail.
“Get back here, you fucking extra, do you want to die today?!” Bakugou hollered at the guy who was hell bent on getting away.
Yells and screams from people in the kitchen created a crazed atmosphere as all four men ran for the back door and outside.
The second the runaway male and the 3 heroes had gotten outside Bakugou used his quirk to propel himself though the air and slam into the back of the escapee- knocking him onto his face in a split second.
The minute he was down, Todoroki jumped on his legs and Deku grabbed for the item in the guys pocket.
“What is this?” Deku snapped, uncharacteristically angry as he yanked a camera from the guy’s pocket, “speak up!”
“I-I’m sorry!” the guy wheezed, grunting with pain as Bakugou laid his knee into the man’s spine, “I’m being paid. It wasn’t my idea.”
“Who paid you,” Deku demanded, “who are you working for?”
“I can’t say,” the guy panted.
“You will say,” Todoroki said in a low commanding voice as he held his flame hand over the side of the guys face and let his quirk activate a little.
“Ok! Ok!” The guy conceded fearfully, “I’m a journalist with ‘sneakpeek’.”
“Should have known,” Deku said with a slight scowl, “and you were taking pictures of our private wedding. You know we have protection for this, yes. You’ve broken the law by sneaking in to get pictures.”
“I’m sorry,” the guy said.
“You’re not fucking sorry. I’ll make SURE you’re sorry though, huh?! I’ll teach you to ruin Deku’s wedding!” Bakugou snapped, his threat being backed up by the sound of crackling explosions in his palm.
Deku turned the camera on and flicked through the pictures. This journalist had been there from the very beginning of the wedding and Deku felt angry at himself for not noticing sooner.
“I’m taking your camera for legal purposes,” he said in a dark voice.
“No, please! That’s an expensive camera!” the guy cried.
“Well, that will teach you for taking sneak pictures of a private occasion,” Todoroki said, still helping to pin the guy down.
As Deku flicked through the images, he noticed some of the shots of you were from low angles or up high, trying to get a shot of your cleavage so that whoever ended up with these pictures could write a fake story about you, claiming your dress was too low cut and untastful or whatever they wanted to say to try and slander your image.
“You’ll be hearing from my lawyer,” Deku said darkly to the guy, “kick him out, Bakugou and Todoroki.”
The two handsome groomsmen grabbed the guy by the shirt and got off him to hoist him up and march him to the gates while Deku checked the camera over for the guys ID. Everything was there, and he put the camera in his pocket and turned back to the building.
“Deku! What happened? Who was that guy?” The bridesmaids asked as they ran out to greet him after checking to see if the coast was clear.
“Just a paparazzi,” Deku said with forced smile, “I’m very sorry for alarming you all,” he added as he bowed to them.
“It’s fine, it’s fine. Is Y/N safe to come out now? She’s a little worried.”
“Oh! Yes, please bring her out. Tell her it’s safe now.”
The girls nodded and Deku entered the reception from the kitchen, apologizing to the kitchen staff as he made his way back through.
“Is everything ok?” The MC asked as Deku entered.
“Yes. I’m very sorry. That person was an uninvited guest so we needed to remove him,” Deku said with another bow.
“Oh! I see, good thing you spotted him,” the MC said, “I’ll tell everyone it’s ok. We were all a little worried for a second there.”
“Ah! I’m so sorry,” Deku said again, bowing multiple times, “there won’t be any more interruptions, I promise!”
The MC nodded and headed back to the microphone to calm everyone down and Deku walked back to the wedding table.
Just then you walked out with a worried expression on your face.
“Is he gone?” you asked.
“Yes,” Deku replied, “he was a journalist, sent here to get exclusive pictures but I have his camera and Bakugou and Todoroki are taking care of him…”
“Kicking him out?” you asked.
Deku nodded. “Yes. He’s gone.”
