Deku was so deep in thought, concentrating on the task at hand that he didn’t hear you open the door.
“Izu, can I just confirm this afternoon’s app-.”
Deku jumped, clicking furiously to close the tabs that were open but in his panic he accident clicked on one of the side ads.
“ARE YOU LOOKING FOR SEXY SINGLES IN YOUR AREA?” The computer ad asked at an obnoxiously loud volume.
“ARGH!!! NO!!” Deku yelled, fumbling with the mouse.
“Izu?”
“Y/N! It’s not what it sounds like!!” He wailed finally getting the ad to close down.
He let out a despairing sigh and hung his head.
You entered the office and closed the door behind you.
“Izu? Can we talk? You’ve been acting really strange lately?” You said a little sadly.
His eyes shot up and met yours.
“Y/N! I’m so so sorry!” He said, making his way around the desk over to you and scooping you up in his arms. “I just want to do something really special for our dinner and-.”
“I know, I know Izu, it just…feels weird that you’re being super secretive about everything but if it’s just for our dinner then I won’t pry.” You said, forcing a smile as you looked up at him.
He gently brushed some stray strands of hair from your eyes and tenderly cupped your cheek and chin in his hand, his emerald eyes sparkling as he leaned down and gave you the sweetest, love filled kiss you had ever received.
“I love you Y/N.” He whispered softly as he pulled away from the kiss, his loving gaze melting you from the inside out.
“I..I love you too, Izu.” You replied, giving him a genuine smile.
Over the next few days Deku tried his best to not be so suspicious, although he was making phone calls to Todoroki constantly and you had guessed by now that the suave duel haired hero must be helping Deku with the dinner plans.
You smiled as Deku answered yet another call from Todoroki and ran off into the bedroom so he could chat in private.
“This dinner is sure to be amazing with the hero Shouto helping Izu.”
…………………..
The night of the anniversary dinner had FINALLY arrived and you had taken your outfit into the spare room to get ready so you could surprise Izu with it when you walked out.
Deku was dressed and ready, waiting nervously in the lounge room for you to walk in. He was mentally going over everything that had been arranged for that night and was trying to put together a little speech for when he ‘popped’ the question.
“Dear Y/N….. no wait that sounds too formal. My one and only…no. I LOVE YOU. Hmmm no, shouldn’t shout…”
He was so deep in thought with his brows knitted together, standing there with his chin in his loosely curled fist that he didn’t see you enter. You had to clear your throat a few times to get his attention.
His head snapped up when he finally did hear your voice and his jaw fell open.
You smiled bashfully.
“How do I look?” You asked, spinning for him to see all of you.
“Y-you look amazing Y/N!” He exclaimed in awe. “I mean, you always look amazing but that colour really suits you!”
You giggled. “Thanks Izu, I can’t even begin to make comment on your outfit it’s just too …” you paused. “If I said I wanted to rip it off with my teeth and drag my tongue up your chest would that be too forward?” You cleared your throat. “You look too good to be true, that’s what.” You ended with. Your compliment causing him to blush furiously.
“Ohh.” He chuckled. “Thank you.”
Just then, the car that Todoroki had organized, arrived out front and the two of you exited the house. The driver alighted and opened the back door for you and helped you inside while Deku walked around and seated himself in the other side.
“So do you know where we’re going?” You asked Deku once you were both buckled in. “Or is this a surprise for you too?” You laughed.
“Todoroki has it all under control.” Deku replied with a chuckle, “but I’d like to think I at least know what’s going on.”
Before long you both arrived at the flashy waterside restaurant and the driver opened the doors, you were greeted with red carpet and personal wait staff which really blew your mind.
The waiter and waitress led you and Deku to an upstairs open air dining section that was cordoned off just for the two of you and there was a small band playing beautifully relaxing music for you both.
“Wow!” You mused. “Going all out?”
Deku smiled proudly. “Everything for you Y/N.”
The night progressed and Deku seemed to be getting more and more nervous as time went by, spilling things and stumbling over his words.
“Would Sir like to see the special desert menu?” The waiter asked Deku with a bright smile.
Deku started sweating bullets, it was getting closer to the time where he would be asking a very important question.
“Oh, y-yes please.” He replied in a nervous voice.
The band started playing a song as the waiter walked away after being told yes for dessert and Deku asked if you wanted to dance.
You said you weren’t very good but you’d love to give it a try. [If you’re good at dancing just pretend you’re me and cannot dance to save your life XD]
Deku stood and walked over to you, offering you a hand. You took it and stood, following him closer to the band that was still playing.
He smiled down at you, palms sweaty and shaking.
“Izu? are you ok?”
“Y-y-yes Y/N, I’m fine.” He replied in a shaky voice.
You both started to move and you could hear him trying to control his breathing.
Suddenly he stopped and looked around.
Before you could ask what was wrong he grabbed you close to him and dropped down, covering you with his arm.
A rift of lava shot over you both and you gasped.
Deku jumped up after the flow of lava had stopped and stood between you and the place from where the lava had come from.
The band members screamed and ran for cover so it was just the two of you left on the roof.
“DEKU!” An enraged voice called from the side of the building. “YOU BASTARD, I’LL MAKE YOU PAY!”
Suddenly a molten lava person slid up and over onto the roof of the building, swaying and gliding as he came forward.
“You.” Deku growled, activating his quirk as he stood ready to fight.
