You arrived home and called out to Kat to let the small angry dog know you were home.
Putting your bag down, you grabbed a drink before skulling it and putting the empty cup down in the sink.
“How’s your day been, Katty-pup?” You asked the irate fluff ball that was lying on Deku’s bed as you walked into the room.
He lazily lifted his head and just looked at you before letting it flop back down again.
You jumped up onto the bed and flopped down beside him.
“Hey you know… you’ve never given me even a little bit of affection back…it’s been 5 years, pup.” You said lowly to the dog.
Kat turned his head slightly and narrowed his eyes at you, his red orbs glinting.
You both looked at each other for the longest time then the small dog let out a huff and very slowly inched towards you on his tummy, his little wet nose coming within millimeters of your own nose.
You lay still, waiting.
He got close enough for your noses to touch and turned his head away before turning it back and giving you the politest little nose boop you had ever received.
He turned his head away, almost looking embarrassed.
You smiled and touched his little paw with your finger and he looked back at you startled, like you had offended his whole ancestory line by daring to touch his paw.
He pulled it away with indignation.
You giggled and sighed. “Thank you for the nose kiss Katty.” You said cheekily.
The small pup growled before moving away and flopping down again.
You chuckled and hopped up to get changed and chill out on the lounge.
After plopping down on the couch you flicked the tv on. You were about to change channels but the news was on and the current story caught your attention.
The story was half way through but you recognized the shop as the jewelery store you and Deku had visited a few days ago. The reporter continued her lines.
“……thankfully for her it was just the hero, Deku!
Japan’s favourite hero declined to make comment on the situation but we are assured it was all a misunderstanding. Back to you at the station.” She said, smiling brightly as she signed off and the shot cut back to the set at the news station.
“Wait what? What happened? Why was Deku at the jewelery store?? Was he going into the store? Or did he just happen to be passing by??”
You sat there in confusion for a bit, shaking your head before changing the channel.
“Why is he being so secretive lately?”
“Y/N? I’m home!” Deku called out as he entered. You had dozed off on the lounge and woke abruptly upon hearing his voice.
“Izu! You’re back!” You slurred out as you drowsily tried to hop off the lounge.
Deku walked in and caught you right before you fell, lifting you up against his chiseled body.
“Did you have a little nap?” He asked with a bright smile as he kissed your lips and put you back down.
“Mmhmm.” You hummed as you rubbed your eyes with the backs of your fingers.
“I’m glad, you worked hard today.” He said as he turned to walk back into the kitchen with you following. “I bought [favourite take away] for dinner tonight! Hope that’s ok?” He said as he presented it to you.
“Oh yummy!” You gasped, perking up immediately upon seeing food.
After getting plates and everything ready you sat down at the table to eat.
“Oh hey, I saw the news today?” You said as you swallowed your first mouthful of food. “What happened at the jewelery store?”
Deku nearly choked on his mouthful. “Oh! Umm I just..” he waved his hands erratically, a red blush creeping onto his cheeks.
“Were you passing by?” You asked, giving him an out.
“Yes! And the shop attendant fell down so I helped.” He said before shoving another mouthful of food into his mouth so that he couldn’t answer any more questions.
You bunched your brows together and hummed. “Ok.” You replied. Not exactly satisfied with his answer. “If you say so…”
“Oh! Also, our anniversary dinner is set for this weekend.” Deku added brightly as he finished the next mouthful.
“Oh awesome!” You replied, your slight annoyance fading as your eyes met his before looking back down again. “Hopefully once this dinner is done he’ll stop acting strange… I wonder what he has planned? He wouldn’t be going to..” you looked up at him from your food, eyes searching his face as he looked back at you curiously. “Propose?! Would he???”
“What’s wrong?” Deku asked upon seeing the blush across your cheeks.
“Oh nothing!” You replied hurriedly, looking back down to your plate. “I mean…it makes sense right? He was at the ring shop? There’s been a lot of talk about marriage from people’s questions… maybe he got the hint?!”
You glanced back up at him. “Well I’m not complaining! I’m 300% ready to become Mrs Midoriya! I mean, I don’t want him to feel pressured but I think it’s about time?”
Deku watched your facial expressions change as you mulled over your own thoughts.
“I wonder what she’s thinking about?” He thought curiously as he ate.
“Hello Todoroki?” Midoriya whispered into the office phone as he closed his door. “How is everything going for this weekend?”
“Fine, Midoriya, I have everything under control.” Todoroki’s velvety smooth voice replied him.
“O-oh…ok, I just need to pick up a ring!” Midoriya whispered harshly, “I didn’t get one when the incident happened at the jewelery store that day!”
“If you would like Midoriya, have a look online and if you see one that you like, or that you think miss Y/N will like I can send for it to be sent to the restaurant.” Todoroki offered.
“That would be really wonderful Todoroki!” Midoriya replied gratefully. “I will have a look now and let you know!”
After saying goodbye, Midoriya turned to the computer and typed in the jewelery store that he had visited twice now, looking through the myriad of rings.
“BUT WHICH ONE WOULD SHE LIKE?!” He panicked internally, clutching his head fervently.
To Midoriya they all looked the same. He wanted to give you something special.
“Oh! I wonder if they have gems?” He thought as he clicked through the pages. “What if I got her birthstone set in the proposal ring?”
He quickly opened a new tab and looked up your birth month and associated stone.
“Perfect.” He thought with a smile. [if you prefer a different type of ring then imagine that instead]
