“Noooooooooo.” You wailed internally as he approached the three of you.
“So, we want to know why you dumped Y/N.” Liisa asked Kuroo bluntly.
His narrow, hazel eyes, shifted from Liisa to you and you swallowed thickly.
“U-Uh, c-can we talk?… please?” You begged him softly, your eyes watering with fear.
He eyed you for a minute more then nodded.
“Yeah, ok.” He said as he stepped back, swinging an arm out to indicate for you to take the lead and head out a side door.
“We’ll be back in a minute, girls.” He added, giving Liisa and Nora a cunning look as he turned and followed you out the door.
“Kuroo, I’m so so so so sorry!” You wailed softly as the two of you stepped out into the bright daylight.
“What’s going on?” He asked curiously as he walked over and sat down on a bench, resting the volleyball on his lap and crossing his arms casually across it to listen to your story.
“I don’t even know where to start.” You said as you looked down at the ground and quickly wiped a tear from your eye.
“You were the girl who took a photo of me yesterday, yeah?” He asked in his low voice and you looked up at him.
He was smirking at you and your breath caught in your throat.
“Y-You remember me?” You asked, almost inaudibly.
“‘Corse I do.” He replied as he sat up and leaned back against the back of the bench, resting one arm out along the backboard. “So what’s going on?”
“Ok, this is gonna sound really stupid and weird but I may as well tell you because I’m screwed anyway so why not.” You said with a sigh. “I’m new here, just started yesterday, and I wanted to make some friends so I lied about having a boyfriend to try and fit in.”
“Ahh,” he hummed with amusement, “and you took my picture and told them we were dating.”
“Umm, yeah, but I didn’t know you went to this school, so when I found out who you were I then lied again and told them you had broken up with me so that it would end this whole thing. But I think they know I’m lying and so they bought me here to call me out.” You said, stubbing the toe of your shoe into the dry dirt. “I’m sorry I dragged you into this mess, they’re going to find out anyway and then completely expose me so I’ll be the laughing stock of the school but whatever, I’m sorry. I’ll go now.”
You turned to leave but all of a sudden Kuroo jumped up and grabbed your wrist, halting you in your path.
“Hey now, wait a second, you’re going to turn yourself in that easily?” He asked, still holding onto you.
“Well yeah, because they already think I’m lying so best I give up now.”
“Ah, but it’s only just starting.” He said coyly, his hazel eyes flashing with mischief, “tell them we’re dating, I’ll play along.”
“S-Sorry, what?” You asked as your mouth fell open. “Sorry, did I hear that right? You want to pretend we’re dating??”
“Yeah, why not? It sounds fun.” He said as he let go of your wrist and gave you a sexy smile, “I’ve always wanted a girlfriend.”
“Umm, but like… it’s just pretending so…”
“Ah! But we need to make it look legit, right?” He asked with a devious smirk, flicking the volleyball up on his index finger and spinning it while he stared you down.
“Ummmmm, I dunno if I like where this is going….” you replied hesitantly.
“Trust me.” He said with a wink as he flicked the ball up then caught it, “it’ll be fun.”
You studied his face for a bit then slowly nodded.
“Ok, if you’re ok with it?” You asked suspiciously.
“Totally.” He replied with a grin. “What’s your name?”
“Y/N.” You replied, “nice to meet you, Kuroo.” You said as you extended a hand out to him.
“Nice to meet you too, babe.” He said with a lopsided smile, taking your small hand in his and shaking it. “Looking forward to you being my girlfriend.”
“S-same.” You replied in a confused and shy voice.
This guy was pretty damn sexy.
“You can tell them we’ve gotten back together again now.” He said with a chuckle as he gestured back inside.
“O-oh, yeah, ok, thanks.” You said stiffly as you turned and walked back inside the gym.
Liisa and Nora were standing there with arms crossed and smug looks on their faces as you approached them.
“We’re ok again now.” You said to them with an apprehensive smile.
“Really?” Nora asked, disbelievingly.
“Mmhmm.” You hummed with a nod.
Kuroo strolled inside behind you and bent down to wrap an arm around your waist from behind, pulling your body into his.
“Have a good rest of your day, sexy, I’ll see you after school,” he rasped lowly in your ear as he nuzzled into your neck and immediately goosebumps broke out on your skin.
“K-K-Kurooooo?!” You screeched in surprise.
“Awww, c’mon now, babe, don’t be so cold. Call me by my first name.” He leered, enjoying this little game.
“F-Fine, umm…”
“Tetsuro.” He said bluntly.
“Y-Yeah, I know your name, dummy.” You stammered, trying to hide the embarrassment of not even knowing his first name.
Nora and Liisa just stood there in shock.
“Ok.” He chuckled, squeezing your body against his one last time before letting you go. “Love you.”
You whipped your head back and gave him a ‘are you serious?’ look and he let out a low chuckle.
“Catch ya, cutie.” He said with a wink before turning and heading back to the volleyball court.
“H-He actually is your boyfriend?!” Nora stammered in surprise.
“I honestly thought you were lying!” Liisa admitted, “how the hell did you get him?!”
“Umm…. luck?” You replied sheepishly as you looked over at him.
He smirked and winked at you from the corner of his eye and you whipped your head away with embarrassment.
“Umm, ok, let’s go now, ok?” You said quickly and walked around the girls, heading for the gym door as they followed meekly behind you.
……………………….
The rest of the afternoon had you in a light headed daze.
You were fake dating the captain of the volleyball team.
Captain.
HOT, FUCKING, CAPTAIN!
You couldn’t believe it.
As the final bell rang you prepared to walk home.
“Hey! What happened after you went back to class??” M/F asked as she ran up beside you, “did you tell them you broke up with him?”
“HEY GIRLFRIEND!” A loud voice called, interrupting your, almost, reply.
M/F and you looked back over your shoulders as Kuroo ran up to you both.
“Oh uh, M/F, this is my boyfriend, Kuroo Tetsuro.” You said sheepishly to her.
Her jaw dropped.
