As you headed back to the school building you suddenly remembered Kuroo.
“Oh shit, I wonder what happened to him?” You thought as you paused at your locker, “I don’t remember seeing him leave but he must have left shortly after the game. Maybe I should text him?”
You pulled your phone back out of your pocket and sent him a message asking if he was ok but he never replied.
“Ok, fine, whatever, why should I care about him anyway he doesn’t even like me like that.” You thought dismissively before grabbing your stuff to head home.
The next morning you met M/F like you usually did and headed to school together.
“So how did the match go between Aobajosai and Nekoma go yesterday?” She asked as you headed down the road.
“Aobajosai won.” You replied bluntly.
“Ouch.” She said, “how’s Kuroo taking it?”
“I dunno, I tried to text him after the game but he didn’t reply.” You replied with a shrug.
“That’s strange? Wouldn’t he want to have you around afterwards or at least talk about it?” She mused.
“No idea, but, I think I have a boyfriend in the making.” You replied with a smirk, giving her a devious side eyed glance.
“But you have Kuroo?” She said, confusion lacing her voice as her eyebrows furrowed.
“Do you know what he said?” You replied I suddenly with indignation, remembering Kuroo’s statement from a few days ago, “he said that he’s just, and I quote, ‘playing the part’.” You said, using air quotation marks around the part Kuroo had said to you.
“What?!” She said with surprise.
“I know right? Fucking, lanky ass bitch, what the fuck?” You mumbled with annoyance. “So the captain of the Aobajosai team showed an interest in me and we exchanged numbers and, boom, possible, maybe, cute as fuck-boyfriend.” You said proudly.
“Wow man, just like that?” She replied with awe, “you got a pic?”
“What’s with people wanting pics these days, oh my god, but yes, I do.” You said as you pulled your phone out to show her the picture from yesterday but as you pulled your phone out it buzzed – an incoming message from Oikawa popping up on the screen. “Oh hey! Speak of the devil.” You leered, “here he is.”
You unlocked your phone and clicked on the message, reading it out loud before handing your phone to M/F.
“Good morning, Kitty.” You read, “was just lying here thinking about you, just another lonely day for me, daydreaming about us. Sorry if I’m too forward I just can’t help but be honest.”
“Oh my fucking god, what a fuck boy, let me see that.” M/F said as she took your phone from you.
“Yeah and uh, feast your eyes on the picture attached, babe.” You said smuggly.
“He has abs.” She gasped, eyes popping out of her head as she nearly drooled on your phone.
“Of course he has fucking abs, he’s the captain of the volleyball team?!” You snorted.
“I’m gonna lick your phone right quick.” M/F said, still staring at the screen.
“Do not lick my phone, you ass.” You laughed, “stop drooling over my almost, no really, boyfriend.”
“And this bitch has been texting you these lines since yesterday?” She quizzed.
“Yep.” You replied proudly.
“I smell bullshit.”
“It’s not bullshit, you can see his texts right there.” You replied indignantly.
“No, I smell bullshit that he’s actually into you. These lines are so fake.” She said bluntly.
“Umm? thanks?” You retorted sarcastically with annoyance, “you’re just jealous that I have a hot guy after me and you don’t.”
“No, I’m worried he’s got an ulterior motive.” She replied.
“Well right now his only motive is to love me and I’m all for it especially when Kuroo bitch is being the fake one, fuck him, I can have a real boyfriend.” You said confidently.
“Ok~.” M/F sung with resignation, “I’ll be here to catch her when she falls.” She thought.
That day you didn’t see Kuroo once, it’s not like he was avoiding you, it’s just that either he wasn’t at school or he was in a completely different section of the school – well that’s what you told yourself- but to be honest you didn’t even care because Oikawa had been texting you on and off all day, flirting up a storm with you and it had consumed your mind.
“Who you texting? Kuroo?” Liisa asked in a bitchy tone as you finished the final class for that day. “You’ve been on your phone all day.”
“Oh have I?” You lied, knowing full well you had been preoccupied with it, “nope, not Kuroo.” You added deviously.
“Who is it then? Another guy?” She asked in a gossipy tone.
“Well.” You said mischievously, “the captain of the Aobajosai volleyball team and I have been texting since the match yesterday. And he seems super keen on me.”
“How the fuck do you get all these guys going for you?” Liisa snapped, “let me see a pic.”
You handed your phone to her and she looked at his photo.
“Fucking, bitch.” She seethed, “he’s so fucking hot.”
“Wait, Aobajosai?” Nora asked, “it’s not…” she reached out and took the phone from Liisa who handed it over in a rage. “Holy shit.” She gasped, “it is! It’s Toru Oikawa!”
“That’s him.” You replied smuggly, “wait? How do you know him?”
“I have a friend who goes to Aobajosai.” Nora replied, “he’s a pretty big name there, he’s also a model for volleyball magazines or something.” She added.
“You’re so fucking plain, why do these guys go for you?” Liisa snapped, “no offense, but still.”
“Ok, I take full offense but I know you’re drenched in jealousy so I’m gonna let it slide.” You thought as you smiled hollowly at her.
“So what about Kuroo? Have you dumped him yet?” Nora asked as she passed your phone back to you.
“Nah, not yet.” You replied flippantly. “Gonna string him out a little.” You added.
“Oooo that’s harsh, I like it.” Nora said slyly, “have him on his knees begging you to return but you just step on him instead as you walk over him to your new boyfriend.”
“I- Yep, ok,” you replied with a sweat dropped look, “ok, Nora has some serious issues but we’ll ignore that statement for now.”
“Well you’re fucking lucky.” Liisa said in a haughty voice, “you need to introduce us to your new man sometime.”
“With pleasure.” You replied smuggly. “We actually have a date this weekend so maybe we could meet up somewhere?”
“Ooo, yeah, I’m down.” Nora said excitedly.
“I’ll see.” Liisa snapped sharply, still salty about you getting another hot boyfriend, “might be busy.”
“Hoes mad.” You thought, cackling internally.
