After getting squirted with ink a fair few more times, you finally worked out that the water squirting slugs had blue markings on their underside, so you changed tactics to punting slugs with your toe to roll them over before stabbing them- to check if they were the ones you were after.
You knew this whole ritual looked a bit strange and it probably didn’t help that you’d yell ânope! This isnât the krusty krabâ when you kicked over a slug that didn’t have blue on the underside.
However, when you did manage to find a sea slug with blue on the underside you would yell âthis is Patrick starâ at the top of your lungs as you stabbed it merrily with a wide grin on your face.
And after farming about 20 sea slugs, you finally had enough water crystals collected and you left the rock pool area, covered in ink and water but content with your grinding efforts.
“Let’s not fish here again if that fox comes back, hey?” the fisherman said to his friend as he watched you leave for the day- the pair had watched your whole theatrics as you grinded solo for the water crystals. “The mental health bar is dangerously low on that one.”
…………………………………
“I got the water crystals! Start the car!” you hollered as you slammed the door open to Grid’s workshop, water and slug ink dripping from your fox onesie.
“Well done,” Grid stated plainly, “now you have to get the wind item.â
“Wind item?” you repeated in an almost defeated voice, your shoulders slumping down.
“Yep, need the water crystals AND wind to create the water aura bracelet. There are a few elements you need to combine to get the desired end product.”
“Ok, where do I get the wind item from?” you asked, wringing ink and water from your tail
“Hummingbirds. In the forest on this level. They’re little and cute, just need to catch about 50 of them and squish them,” he said nonchalantly.
“Squish them?!” you gasped. “I can’t squish them!â You added with a pitiful wail.
“Well, you can’t get your wind item then, can you?” he said, stopping what he was doing to look at you.
“This is for Butterfli3,” you said with dejected resolve, “If I have to squish hummingbirds to get wind for his bracelet, I’ll do it.”
…………………………………….
“Nooo0oo, I’m so sorry!!” you wailed as you squished yet another hummingbird in hand.
You watched as the crystals floated up into the sky before sighing and finding another bird to hunt and catch.
“That’s…” You squished another one. “30?”
You kept going, trying to make the situation emotionally lighter for yourself by chanting ‘he loves me, he loves me not’ every time you caught and defeated a hummingbird.
As you hit 50, you triumphantly yelled âhe loves meâ and turned to skip back towards town.
A few minutes later, you entered the workshop with a triumphant grin on your face and proudly stated that you now had the water crystals AND wind for the bracelet.
“Well done,” Grid said with a smile, “we’ll make the bracelet tomorrow. For now you need to go home to your man and maybe clean up a bit?” He laughed “You’re a mess!”
“I can’t be looking that bad, can I?” you asked as you stepped back and looked to the right to see yourself in the mirror on the wall.
Your onesie was now almost completely black from the sea slug ink and the tail and ears were droopy from the weight of the water.
You did indeed, look a mess.
“Uh, yeah, ok… best I call it a day. Iâll be back tomorrow.” You waved goodbye to Grid and left the shop.
……………………………
After making it to the teleport site, you transported back to level 22 and trudged the short walk home, water and ink dripping from you as you moseyed along.
“Hey hubby. I’m home!” you sang as you entered the house, looking down to make sure you weren’t dripping ink on the floor as you shut the door behind you.
“Welcome back darâargh!” Butterfli3 screeched when he saw you. “Sweetheart?! What happened to you? Are you ok?” Voice laced with concern as he rush over to your side.
“I’m fine, I promise!” you said with a laugh, “it looks worse than it is.”
“Take the onesie off and I’ll have it cleaned for you,” Butterfli3 said as he tried to unzip it at the back of it.
[DO YOU CONSENT TO THIS TOUCH?]Popped up again and you laughed.
“Boy they are really serious about consent in this game!”
You clicked yes and Butterfli3 unzipped you, helping you out of the onesie.
Oddly enough, you felt a little vulnerable standing there in your underwear but Butterfli3 didn’t seem fazed this time.
“Here, O/N, have my cloak,” he said, taking it off and handing it to you.
“Oh! No, that’s ok. I can just wear the rat onesie or village clothes,” you said, opening your menu.
“No, please, p-put my cloak on?” He shyly presented the cloak a little closer to you so that you would take it from him.
“Umm, ok?” You reached out and took it then slipped it on.
You didn’t thing that Tamaki was that much taller than you, but his cloak absolutely dwarfed you as you pulled it on and you held your arms out in front of yourself and stretched them out to try and push your fingertips out of the sleeve holes- but you couldn’t, so you pulled your elbows back in to your sides instead and flapped your hands to show just how much extra sleeve there was.
Tamaki was watching you with adoration at how small you looked in his outfit- as well as how cute your little antics were, and you flicked the hoodie up over your head to see if it made you look cool but instead it completely covered your face.
Tamaki heard you say something but it was muffled then you giggled and shuffled around a bit with your arms out in front- the extra sleeve length dangling from your fingertips.
“Look, Butterfli3. I’m a ghost!” you said like an excited child, bouncing a little as you flapped your arms around and made faux ‘oooo000’ noises to imitate a ghost.
“Oh no,” Butterfli3 chuckled, “a level 100 ghost has appeared! I need to defeat it!”
He grabbed you in a bear hug and spun you around as you squealed and laughed then he carried you over to the couch and collapsed onto it, pulling you down on top of him as he fell backwards.
You shrieked as your centre of gravity was disrupted and coughed slightly as your body landed heavily on his.
You reached a sleeve covered hand up and grabbed for the hoodie to lift it up so your could peek out from underneath and looked down at him.
“Did I defeat you?” you chuckled when you managed to lift the hoodie high enough to see him from underneath it.
“You stole my heart,” Butterfli3 replied softly, “I love you, O/N, you’re cute, funny, encouraging, loyal… I’m so lucky to be able to call you my girlfriend and wife.”
You leaned in and rubbed your nose against his before kissing him.
“I could say the same things about you too Butterfli3- you’re shy, bold, reserved, and a total badass. You’re everything.â
He kissed you back and smiled. “O/N, I want to marry you in real life one day. Please wait for me.â
“I don’t plan on going anywhere without you,” you replied as you lay your head down on his chest and snuggled into him, “I’m so glad I decided to play RFO.”
