“Ok, we need a small dagger.” Butterfli3 said as he took the lead and dragged you with him, your hand still wrapped around his wrist.
He took you to the closest blacksmith store and entered. The owner of the store had a green cursor above his head so you knew he was a fellow player.
“Sir,” Butterfli3 addressed the blacksmith. “We need one of your dagger, nothing flashy, just lightweight, easy to use and store.”
“Certainly Butterfli3!” The blacksmith replied, walking around from his bench and taking the hooded top player to the dagger cabinet.
You let the two boys discuss daggers while you looked around the shop.
“Wow this is really cool!” You thought, looking at all the different types of knives, swords, chains and other weapons.
“Do you own this shop?” You asked the blacksmith as he picked a dagger out of the cabinet and handed it to Butterfli3 to test.
“Yes I do! I make all of the items here myself.” He replied proudly.
“This is really cool!” You told him, “you’re a blacksmith right? How did you become a blacksmith?”
“Well I started as a merchant and changed classes when I had gained enough experience.” He replied. “You need to be level 40 to change classes.”
“You started as a merchant?!” You asked excitedly, stepping out of the way as Butterfli3 tried different moves with the dagger.
“Here O/N, try this dagger, tell me if it’s comfortable and light enough for you to use.” Butterfli3 said to you as he held the dagger out to you.
“Umm…ok…” You said, taking it awkwardly in hand and waving it around like you were waving a flag.
The blacksmith and Butterfli3 just stared at you.
You looked at each of them before doing a few tentative fencing type lunges.
“Kill me now, I have no idea what I’m doing, what I DO know is I’m making the biggest fool of myself in front of two very capable people.”
The two perplexed spectators continued to watch you as you waved the dagger around like a gymnast with a ribbon.
“Yeah, this is fine.” You finally said nonchalantly as you handed the dagger back to Butterfli3.
“Uh…ok?” He replied, taking the dagger while watching you dubiously from under his hood. “Sir, we’ll take this one.” He said, turning to the blacksmith who was still quite concerned and worried about you handling a dagger.
“As long as you’ll be teaching her, Butterfli3, I have no concerns.” He said, eyeing you as he took the dagger back over to the counter and scanned it. “That will be 90 Mahi for the dagger.”
“I got it!” You said excitedly, putting your arm out to stop Butterfli3 who was about to pay for it.
You swiped your menu open and typed in the amount of Mahi you wished to withdraw and pulled a small pouch of coins out from what seemed like, your armpit.
“Where the heck did that come from?!” You thought as you handed the Mahi over.
You bent your head back down and raised your arm, looking to see where that pouch had come from.
“Uh…Miss?” The blacksmith asked just after he cleared his throat.
You looked back up at him.
“Yes? OH! Dagger, yes, thank you.” You said quickly, taking it from him and holding onto it awkwardly.
The blacksmith just looked so done by now and you and Butterfli3 left the shop, much to his relief.
“What a weird girl.” He thought as he shook his head and went back to work.
“O/N, lets stop in here for a second.” Butterfli3 said, point to a seamstress shop.
10 minutes later you and Butterfli3 emerged from the shop with you sporting a dagger pouch around your waist, made from some of the rats fur you had collected on your hunt yesterday.
“I feel like a pro!” You said happily, walking beside him. “Well….”
You eyed his very expensive looking Chain Whip Sword that was strapped to his hip.
“…maybe not pro…” You added. “Hey that reminds me, why did you pick that particular sword? It looks hard to use…”
“My quir…..uh, umm, I just find it easy to use…” he said, not looking at you.
“Was he going to say quirk? Is his quirk to be able to produce bendy swords from his hands? Or body?? That would make sense…”
You walked on in silence for a bit as you headed out of the city and across the fields to the forest nearby.
“There are a few monsters here that have higher EXP and will give you more Mahi, so you’ll be able to level up a bit faster.” Butterfli3 said as you both entered the tree line. “Use your dagger like a pin and make sure the tip is the first point of impact.” He added.
“Like popping a balloon?” You asked.
“Yes.” He replied, keeping an eye out for any monster attacks. “Here comes a viper O/N draw your dagger.”
He stepped back and reached one hand to his sword in case it might be needed.
You grabbed your dagger and looked in the direction he was looking and spotted a viper snake in the foliage of a nearby tree, it’s beady red eyes glaring as it looked at you, the red cursor showing ominously about its head.
“H-how do I attack it?” You called to Butterfli3 from over your shoulder as you raised your dagger with both hands and held it up in front of you, tip pointing directly at the snake.
“Step forward O/N,” Butterfli3 encouraged.
You took a shaky step forward and kept your dagger pointing at the snake.
The snake’s tongue flicked out of it’s mouth as it slid closer to you while raising its head.
“It’s engaged with you now O/N,” Butterfli3 narrated from behind you. “When it’s within striking range jump forward and jab it with the tip of your dagger.”
“O-okay…” You replied hesitantly as the snake got closer.
“No! O/N, don’t step back!” Butterfli3 called.
Instinctively you had taken a step back in fear.
“S-Sorry!” You called and stepped forward as a little scared squeak escaped your lips.
“That’s it O/N, jump now!” Butterfli3 called.
You lunged forward and jabbed the snake with the tip of your dagger just as it went to open it’s mouth to bite you. Suddenly it burst into a million crystals and evaporated.
“I DID IT!!” You hollered, jumping up and down.[VIPER DEFEATED!]
