While the girls talked in the house, Butterfli3 and Praetorian walked and talked.
“So… what’s the plan? I know you want to get to the talking cloud thing but how can you guarantee that the cloud dude will be there?” Praetorian asked.
“He will. Especially if he thinks that he has caught me,” Butterfli3 replied.
“Caught? What do you mean, caught?” Praetorian asked.
“I’m going to let the guards capture me. They’ll take me to the top level to show off that they’ve finally detained the top player.”
“Ahhh, yeah this guy sounds like a real ego trip. I hate that… so what do you need from me then?” he asked.
“I need you to help me get in, then make it look like you’ve become overwhelmed and then ‘abandon’ me. That will make the guards think they have won.”
“Ok. I can do that. Are you sure you’ll be ok?” he asked jumping down onto the a smaller island.
“I’ll be fine. The guards are not strong. I had a chance to fight them all one by one and they are weak,” Butterfli3 said, jumping down after Praetorian.
“Ok. I’ll take your word for it then,” he said, walking to the next part down.
They continued to chat as they walked and finally they both stepped up onto the teleport platform.
“Level 45!” Butterfli3 called, and off they went.
It was a little harder to get to the building this time as the guards on that level were well and truly spooked by the happenings of late.
Rumours had spread, about the small group that had been sent to try and capture Butterfli3 and his team -that had never returned, and a small amount of people had heard that the top player was someone able to control the beasts on that level despite not being a beast tamer.
After going the long way around through the bush, Praetorian and Butterfli3 got to the outskirts of the wall and looked for the best way in.
The water tunnels they had used before were now guarded with 5 guards per tunnel and three guards patrolled the outside lines as well.
“They’re really kicking it up a notch aren’t they?” Praetorian whispered to Butterfli3 as they scoped it out.
“Yes. It’s a shame you can’t use your gun. It would have come in handy right now,” Butterfli3 said.
“Mmmm. All the more reason to take this syndicate down. That’s cheating. You can’t block the use of other people’s weapons,” he said angrily.
“Don’t worry. We’ll get him. We’ll have everything disbanded, let’s do this.”
Praetorian nodded and the two shook hands before Butterfli3 took the lead and they skirted closer to one of the corners of the brick fencing.
“If I scale the wall, can you follow?” Butterfli3 asked the bulky guard.
“Uh… If I’m being honest… no.”
“Mmm, ok. What if you make it look like you’re helping me get up over the wall and then you run away?” Butterfli3 asked.
“I can do that. But that’s not helping you very much, is it?” he asked.
“It will be plenty. I can easily jump that wall as my stats are quite high for agility but if I make it look like I’m struggling that will make them think they have a chance.”
“I see. That’s smart. Ok, when you’re ready.”
Butterfli3 crouched ready for a bit and waited, sensing where the guards were on the other side, then when he felt like it was the best time to make a move, he sprang forwards and ran to the wall.
Praetorian followed behind and quickly dropped to one knee and linked his fingers together so that Butterfli3 could step into the palm of his hands and then he could hoist him up- which he did quite easily. He was quite a muscular build and lifting lithe Butterfli3 was easy peasy.
The movement of the two, caught the attention of the guards at the tunnel nearby and they looked over to see the pair trying to breech the wall.
“Hey! Intruders!” one shouted, grabbing his sword and running for towards them.
“You ok?” Praetorian called as Butterfli3 jumped to the top of the wall and balanced on it.
“Yes! Go!” He called, dropping down on the other side and leaving Praetorian to turn and run back into the bush.
The guards split up and two went after Praetorian while the other 3 blew their whistles to attract attention while running back around to get inside the wall and find Butterfli3.
Guards on the inside were alerted to the intruder the second they heard the shouting and whistles but no one had seen Butterfli3 drop down and hide behind the hedge.
A few came running close but a shout from inside the building called them back and they ran there to check and see if he had gotten inside already.
There was pandemonium, as guards raced all over the place looking for the intruder, some guards fighting each other in the confusion, so Butterfli3 waited until he felt like everyone was at the height of their panic before making his move.
After waiting a bit, he finally crept out from behind the hedge and grabbed one of the guards nearby, holding the tip of his sword to the petrified soldiers neck.
“Don’t move,” he whispered in a deep voice as he held the man captive.
It only took another second before a different guard turned around and saw his comrade being held captive and shrieked, raising a gun at Butterfli3.
“Don’t shoot! Don’t shoot!” the guard begged his fellow guard- who had a massive case of the shakes and couldn’t keep the gun steady.
“Where is your leader?” Butterfli3 called loudly, attracting far more attention than he had hoped for and in a second he was mobbed by the guards.
He managed to dodge a number of them at first, then pretended to make a few mistakes and finally ended up being caught and detained by weak ropes that he could have easily broken through, but decided against it.
“Where do we put him? Guys?? WHERE DO WE PUT HIM?!” the guards holding Butterfli3 asked urgently- it was evident that they hadn’t even thought this part through.
“Dungeon!” One called.
“We can’t put him there! The holy one will be pissed if we put the top player down there, take him to the priests,” another called.
“Are the priests upstairs?” Another called.
“Yeah. Up. Take him up!”
The mob slowly moved Butterfli3 along to the stairs, then up to the main room that he had fought in last time.
