Your head whipped in the direction of the voice and your eyes searched for the man who owned it.
You saw him running.
You’d hardly ever seen him run to be honest, and he jumped a row of chairs to make a shortcut through the departure lounge to get to you.
“Aizawa?!” you called, standing up, “what are you doing here?”
“Don’t go,” he said as he got to you, “please. Don’t go.”
“I need to,” you said, sudden emotion springing up in your voice, “I can’t do this anymore, Aizawa. It hurts too much. I can’t be around you. I can’t fake it any more.”
“Please. Give me a chance to explain,” he said, a little out of breath from his run.
You waited.
“That patrol, where I was affected by the quirk. I remembered everything I said to you. I remember the sadness in your eyes. I remember the painful look on your face when I said those things…”
“Yes…” you said, “you told me.”
“I never wanted to see you make those faces again. I told you before that if you’re with me it’s going to be hard because I’m a hero and heroes get targeted a lot. Things like this are not uncommon…”
“I know. And that’s why I’m leaving. I’m still in love with you, Aizawa,” you croaked out, “but you treat me like shit and I can’t handle it. Sue me for being soft. I don’t care. I need to get away from you.”
“I can’t let you leave. Please, don’t go. I’m the coward here. I’m the one who wasn’t strong enough to protect you.”
“What do you mean ‘not strong enough to protect me? Nothing bad has ever happened to me. You’ve always been there to save me,” you said, your bottom lip quivering.
“Give me another chance,” he said his bloodshot eyes begging you.
“I’ve given you so many chances,” you replied, now a little angry that he would come out with that.
“Let’s start over then. I can’t let you go. If I let you go I’ll regret it for the rest of my life.”
You bit into the inside of your cheek. Your mouth was starting to get littered with a lot of teeth marks.
“Please, Y/N… I thought it was hard having you near me. But it’s even harder to have you away from me. I need you.”
You hung your head.
“I don’t know…” you said sadly, “I’ve given you so many chances and you just throw them all back in my face.”
“I know I don’t deserve another chance. But I’m still in love with you and I’ll follow you to America if I have to,” he said, the earnestness in his voice making you cave.
“Aizawa…”
“Shouta. Please,” he said, “it’s no secret. I want everyone to know we are on first name basis.”
You hesitated.
“I’m still in love with you, Y/N. This whole time I’ve been in love with you,” he admitted.
“As have I,” you admitted in return.
“Please say you’ll be mine. Please don’t go…”
A tear slipped from your eye and then another one as you warred with yourself on what to do.
“Please,” he said again, his face contorting a little.
“You’ve been making all of these decisions about what’s best for me… but have you even considered my feelings?” you blurted out, hot tears suddenly flooding your cheeks, “when is it my turn to make my own decision?!”
“Now,” he said, “forgive my forwardness just now. The decision is yours. And your word will be final. What do you wish for your future, Y/N?”
Slowly you stepped towards him, which he very gratefully accepted and opened his arms to catch you as you fell into him.
You could feel his sigh of relief when you had let him hug you and he savored the feeling of you in his arms as you stood there, sobbing into him, in the busy departure lounge with random people watching on.
He bent his head and kissed you on the top of yours and when you felt it, you looked up at him, your lips touching then deepening into a heavy kiss as sudden applause rose from around you- your fellow travelers cheering for you and this random disheveled man, that some recognized, that had come racing in and made up with you.
As you broke from the kiss, you heard yet another unmistakable voice call out and you looked around Aizawa to who had yelled.
“Yaoyorozu?!” you called with surprise, “oh god?! And the whole class?! Hizashi? You’re here too?!”
Aizawa turned around with his arms still half around you and you stayed in them as you both stared at the entire class of 1-A led by Hizashi and Yaoyorozu.
“What are you all doing here?” you asked as they approached you.
“We’ve come to get our favorite teacher back,” Mina said brightly.
“Not you, Aizawa, we mean miss L/N,” Jirou quipped teasingly, making some of the students chuckle.
You smiled, then grinned, then laughed, the others chuckling along with you.
“Well thank you… I guess I’ll be coming back then,” you said, wiping a few stray tears from your eyes.
Just then your flight number was called and you looked over at the boarding gate as the hostesses unhooked the barrier rope.
All eyes followed to where you were looking then you looked back at them all.
“Well… let’s go. We have class now,” you said, earning yourself a lot of smiles from them all.
“Class, before we go,” Aizawa said in his stern teacher voice, “I would like to make an announcement…”
You looked at him as he slid his arm up to your shoulder and squeezed you into his side.
“Miss L/N and I…”
“Are dating,” you added on the end.
The girls of the class squealed and clapped, much to your delight, and many congratulations were given right there on the spot.
As you all headed back towards the front of the airport you heard about how they had all gotten there.
“When I told the class that Aizawa, had gone to get Miss L/N from the airport, they all insisted on coming… so Yaoyorozu called for two limousines…” Hizashi explained.
You smiled, now hand in hand with Aizawa, and he squeezed it and gave you a soft look.
“Y/N,” he said in a soft voice as the others moved on ahead a little, leaving you two walking at the back, “you just have this… pull… about you. I can never let you go.”
You smiled and accepted his lips as he bent his head and kissed you.
“Then don’t let go,” you replied, “No matter what happens… don’t let go.
