There was a moment of stiff silence and you copied Aizawa’s position, crossing your own arms across your chest and waiting for him to say something else.
“I would ask about your schooling but I already know about it,” Aizawa commented, letting his arms go a little.
Your heart jumped and you quickly uncrossed your arms and scratched your nose to hide your sudden flusteredness.
“I uh… that was on my application and resume, yes?” you commented to him.
“Correct, but I also did my own research,” he added unashamedly, his unwavering gaze making your whole body act up.
“Aizawa, my heart is hurting right now there’s too much adrenaline in my system. Please stop making me feel this way,” you screamed internally, “oh. I see. Uh… yes, well I also looked you up… as well,” you admitted, grateful that the waiter had returned with drinks at that point.
“And what did you find about me?” he asked with bland curiosity.
“Umm. Not much, you keep a low profile,” you replied honestly.
“Good.”
“Why is it good? Is it because you’re trying to hide something?”
You leaned forward and took a sip of your drink then sat back.
“You were researching me,” Aizawa commented, his bloodshot eyes locking onto yours as he pulled his sleeve up and grabbed the hairtie.
“Uh… well, yeah…” you mumbled, keeping your eyes averted.
“Why?”
“I dunno… I wasn’t looking for anything in particular, I just… why? Why does it matter?” you asked, feeling put on the spot.
“There is no need to get defensive. This isn’t an interrogation,” he said as he pulled his hair up and into a bun, “I am merely asking the question. I do like that you are interested.”
You relaxed, but your heart rate was going double time now.
“Well same,” you said to him.
He nodded.
The waiter walked over with your meals then and placed them down on the table in front of you both and you adjusted your seat so that you could get to your bowl better.
As you slid the chair forward on the floor, your foot came in contact with Aizawa’s leg under the table and you apologizing quickly.
“I do not mind,” he replied in a deadpan voice, digging into his meal.
“Oh,” you replied, allowing your foot to remain touching him.
You started eating as well and noticed that he shifted his leg out a little so that there was a definite contact between your body parts.
“I’m not opposed to this contact,” you thought as you shifted your foot up and down his leg, rubbing it a little.
Aizawa didn’t react outwardly but you could tell he had felt your subtle nudge.
“Good food,” you commented after swallowing a mouthful.
“And company,” he stated.
Your heart glitched and your lips twitched.
“Is he flirting?”
You rubbed his leg again with your foot and chuckled a little.
“Yeah, I agree, company is good,” you smiled across at him, watching his sharp jaw clench as he chewed.
More small talk continued between mouthfuls and although it wasn’t full on conversation, you felt relaxed enough but Aizawa still hadn’t allowed you to dig too deep into his life- only keeping information very superficial.
After finishing dinner, Aizawa offered to walk you home.
“You know, you don’t need to overextend yourself like this. I can get home just fine by myself,” you said to him as he walked beside you.
“I’ve told you before, I need to be assured of your safety,” he replied.
“You talk like you’ve had a bad experience in the past,” you remarked, seeing if he would open up then.
“I’m a hero. Ive had a lot of bad experience and seen a lot of people get hurt,” he replied.
“Still not gonna open up, huh?” you thought.
As you approached your front gate you paused.
“If you’re not needing to run off to hero duty, you’re welcome to come up for a hot drink?” you offered, expecting that he would say no.
“If it’s not encroaching…” he replied, leaving his reply open ended.
“Oh shit?! He’s actually going to come up?”
“Not a trouble at all!” you said quickly, opening the gate and leading the way up to the front door of the building complex.
You opened the door and lead him up to your apartment.
“Do you mind if I take my jacket off?” he asked as you opened the door to your apartment.
“Not at all.” You shook your head. “Make yourself at home.”
While Aizawa took his jacket off and draped it over the lounge chair, you went to the kitchen and flicked the hot water jug on.
“Do you mind if I take my heels and stockings off, it’s warm in here,” you asked from where you were getting things from the cupboard.
“Make yourself at home. This is your place,” he replied as he sat down on the lounge and rested his head back against the headrest.
You nodded and quickly left the kitchen and headed to your room to take your stockings and heels off, emerging in just your teaching skirt and shirt.
Getting back to the kitchen, you quickly made two coffees and carried them over to Aizawa, who was still resting on the lounge.
“Thank you,” he said in his deep voice with his eyes still shut, as you put the cups down on the coffee table.
“Don’t feel obliged to stay if you’re tired,” you said gently, “I know you love your sleep.”
“When I am enjoying the company I am with, I will give up sleeping,” he said as he opened his eyes and looked at you.
You tried to suppress your happiness from his comment but failed and he smirked.
“I am glad I am saying things that make you happy.” He leaned forward and picked up his cup.
“Oh, you have,” you said, picking up your coffee and taking a sip.
There was silence for a second as you both enjoyed the taste then you rested back against the lounge and twisted your body then pulled your legs up and tucked them under you to face him- cupping them coffee mug in your hands.
“Thank you for coming up,” you said softly, “I feel safe and comfortable with you.”
“Likewise,” he replied as he put the coffee back on the table then turned to you.
Before you could register what was happening, your lips were pressed to his and his hand was cupping your jaw and ear.
Immediately, he deepened the kiss and your tongues touched and rolled together.
Reaching out with your right hand you put your cup of coffee down on the table and let Aizawa lie you back, his body between your legs, pushing your skirt all the way up.
