You nodded stiffly at him, scanning his face for any hint of emotion. There was none.
Kaminari turned his attention to Kakashi. “So you’re the teacher.” He asked relaxing his shoulder slightly.
Kakashi nodded. “I am.”
“Dude, teacher is a bit of a loose title, he’s the freakin’ 6th Hokage.” Karma said with a snort.
“Ok, whatever that means?” Kaminari replied. “Look I don’t mean to be rude but I need some guidance. I’m not here to join gangs or anything.”
Kakashi eyed Kaminari for a moment before he spoke. “What is your skill set?” He asked flatly.
“Uh? Umm what do you mean skill set?” Kaminari scratched his head.
“Quirk man, quirk.” Dabi interjected, taking his eyes off you momentarily to cue Kaminari then returning his gaze to you. His turquoise eyes burning into the side of your skull. “Why is he watching me so closely?”
Kaminari moved to take a seat and you followed. Unfortunately placing yourself directly opposite Dabi.
“Do I know you?” Dabi asked you suddenly, leaning forward and placing his chin on the backs of his interlaced fingers.
“Nope.” You said confidently. “Never seen you before in my life.”
Dabi silently looked over your face and mumbled something as he leaned back. You didn’t ask him to repeat his sentence, the last thing you wanted was a full blown conversation with this guy. You looked away to signal the end of the conversation.
Kaminari and Kakashi talked for a bit, a lot of the conversation you didn’t understand. You made a mental note to ask Kami about it later. Finally their animated conversation came to an end and Kami thanked him for his time, to which he bowed slightly and wished Kami all the best. You got up to leave and Dabi stood too. You glanced across to him shooting him a very annoyed look.
“See you again soon, babe.” He said with a wink.
You shuddered and grabbed onto Kami’s arm.
“You ok babe?” Kami asked once you were both safely out of the club.
“I really didn’t like that Dabi guy he was super creepy.” You muttered through gritted teeth. “He asked if he knew me?! As if I would know someone like him!” You scoffed.
“Ah, I wouldn’t worry about those guys, they look super tough but they’re actually pretty nice when it boils down to it.” Kaminari said with a warm smile and a shrug of his shoulders. “I don’t know that Dabi guy very well though he just kinda appeared in that group one day.”
You fell silent, thankful you would never see him again.[Next day]
“Here’s your coffee, sir.” You smiled at the young business man, handing him the takeaway cup.
“Do I get the girl with the coffee?” A familiar, sinister voice, said to your left. The hair on the back of your neck stood on end as you turned you head painfully slow to make eye contact with the owner.
Dabi’s cold turquoise eyes pierced your soul as your life seemed to be sucked out of you.
“What are you doing here?” You said numbly.
“Oh, to see you of course.” He said it so casually you almost laughed.
“I don’t think so.” You replied, laughing hollowly. “You need to leave.” You hissed.
“I don’t need to do anything.” He replied glaring at you, his casual tone turning dark real quick.
You clamped your mouth shut and continued your work while he stared you down. You made his drink and placed it on the counter avoiding eye contact and ignoring his farewell.
“I’ll see you real soon.” He added on the end as he made his way to the doors.
After work you texted Kami, he had told you he would be busy after school but was hoping to catch you up as you walked home. You texted him a short message about the encounter with Dabi and told him you were scared to walk home by yourself.
You sat at one of the empty tables inside the cafe waiting for Kaminari to reply. The minutes ticked by and the sun started setting. You were starting to worry about walking home in the dark and the fear of being alone in the dark trumped the fear of running into Dabi again.
You hoped seeing him once would be enough for one day and set out for home picking a brisk walking pace to make the journey shorter. You kept your wits about you just in case you ran into Dabi again but you had no idea what you would do if he did show up. No sooner had you thought it. He appeared from behind a building.
The way he stepped out as you approached made it obvious that he had been waiting for you. You froze. A wave of panic washing over you.
“Told you I’d see you again real soon.” He smirked.
“Leave me alone.” You growled, a mixture of panic and fear in your voice. You took a step back, toying with the idea of making a run for it. Your eyes flicked to the right, analyzing the best getaway route.
“I wouldn’t if I were you.” Dabi said threateningly, his arm outstretched, blue flames flickering in his palm.
Suddenly a surge of rage pulsed through you and without thinking you stepped forward and threw your arms out at him. Dabi was picked up and thrown a good 50 meters from where you stood.
You froze, bewildered. “What the hell was that?!”
Dabi got up slowly, grinning maliciously. “I knew it! I KNEW IT!” He cackled manically.
You stepped back in shock. None of this made sense. Dabi took a step towards you. “Y/N, you’re coming with me.” He said walking purposely towards you.
“NO!” You screamed and launched another attack at him. Throwing him back like a ragdoll.
Suddenly a flash of yellow shot between you and Dabi, you shrank back turning to see where the bolt had come from. Kaminari was standing a few feet behind you.
