“Please line up in front of your allocated kitchen benches,” Iida directed with choppy arm movements, calling order to himself.
“Camera one?” Momo asked into the headset on her head, adjusting the mouth piece.
“Ready!” Uraraka called into her headset, waving from camera one.
“Camera two?” Momo then asked, looking over at Hagakure who was operating camera two.
“Ready!” The invisible girl replied, her shirt moving in a way that showed she was waving her arm.
“We’re all ready,” Momo said to Iida, pulling her mouthpiece away from her mouth so that she could talk to him.
He nodded and pushed his glasses up onto his nose then looked sternly at each of the four groups who were competing in the cook off.
“Sero, Sato.” He addressed pair one. “Midoriya, Todoroki.” He addressed pair two. “Kirishima, Bakugou.” He addressed pair three. “Jirou, Kaminari. Cooks ready?” He asked pair four, waiting for their response.
“How did I get stuck with you?” Jirou gave Kaminari a side look and he beamed back at her.
“Because we’re gonna win this comp!” He said brightly, continued to smile up big- 100% confident in himself.
She shook her head and rolled her eyes. “This is going to be a disaster.” She mumbled to herself, crossing her arms across her chest.
“We will begin the countdown now,” Iida announced, holding his arm up in the air, “chefs, ready, 3!…2!…”
“1, you’re too slow!” Kaminari called as he grabbed for the packet of mac&cheese and ripped it open, promptly sending the cheese powder and dried macaroni pieces everywhere.
Bakugou was standing closest to Kaminari and got covered in the cheese powder and immediately exploded, blasting the electric blond sideways and startling the other members in the kitchen- who all stopped for a moment to see what had happened, before gathering themselves and focusing again.
“Midoriya. We cannot lose,” Todoroki said in his calm low voice to the greenette as he picked out the cups and measuring items.
“Yes!” Midoriya said quickly, grabbing for the scissors to cut the top of the mac&cheese packet, then tipped it into the saucepan.
“What else do we need to put in the pan?” Todoroki asked, taking the now empty packet from Midoriya and reading the ingredients list on the back.
Meanwhile, Sato and Sero seemed to be the most collected and had just added the dollop of butter to the packet mix, water, and milk.
Uraraka turned her camera from them to Jirou who was barely holding it together from within her cooking bag.
“Pffftt,” she spluttered, one hand over her mouth, snickering into her palm as Kaminari walked around aimlessly, punching the air with a ‘wheeey’ look on his face.
“It appears that Bakugou’s quirk has caused Kaminari to overload!” Iida said expertly, turning to the closest camera to explain Kaminari’s actions, “will he and Jirou be able to catch up?”
“B-Bakugou!” Kirishima gasped, looking on worriedly as Bakugou just randomly tipped water and milk with the mac&cheese sachet into the pan on the stove top.
“I know what I’m doing, shitty hair,” he uttered lowly, “don’t underestimate me.”
“But you didn’t even measure anything!” Kirishima replied with concern.
“I said to trust me, yeah?”
“Y-Yes?”
“So trust me,” Bakugou replied with a scowling smile, “we’re gonna win this competition. I didn’t come here to lose… especially to that nerd!” He pointed at Deku.
“T-Todoroki!” Midoriya said worriedly, “I t-think that might be too much butter?”
“It will make it more creamy,” Todoroki announced to the dubious Midoriya.
“What happened?” Kaminari asked as he came out of his overload.
“We’re behind now, jamming’ whey, thanks to you,” Jirou teased him, checking to make sure he was actually ok before bending to pick up pieces of the macaroni off the floor.
“Oh no!” Kaminari said, bending to pick up the macaroni as well, “how did this get here?! We need to catch up!”
“Wait… what are you going to do with th—ARGH?! NO! DON’T PUT IT IN THE PAN, IT’S BEEN ON THE FLOOR!” Jirou yelped, grabbing for Kaminari’s arm but failing to stop him in time.
“Oh! There’s still some powder in the bottom of the bag!” Kaminari said excitedly, dumping it into the pan along with the sad collection of dried macaroni, amid Jirou’s gasps of objection.
Meanwhile, Sato and Sero were well in the lead with their Mac and cheese looking perfect and Hagakure excitedly filmed them, squealing about how she was looking forward to trying some.
“Uh… Todoroki? Aren’t you supposed to stir it constantly when it’s cooking on the stove?” Uraraka asked from behind her camera, filming the two boys.
“It has a lot of butter. It will be fine.”
“I can smell something burning…” Momo said from behind Uraraka.
“I’ll check it,” Midoriya said, stopping his washing up of the dishes.
The minute he put the spoon into the mixture he knew it was in trouble and he froze up.
Todoroki was watching from the corner of his eye and saw Midoriya’s form stiffen.
“What is it, Midoriya?” he asked.
“Todoroki… it’s… a little stuck on the bottom of the pan…”
“Ha! Die you extras!” Bakugou cackled from beside them, grinning maliciously from ear to ear, “you can’t beat me!”
“Ours looks very good,” Kirishima said, but it’s not setting…”
“What? Give it here,” Bakugou snapped, snatching the spoon from Kirishima’s hand.
“I’m telling you…” Kirishima said, leaning in close to look as Bakugou stirred aggressively.
“Done!” Sato called proudly, raising his hand.
“Aaaaaah! It’s looks so good!” Uraraka praised.
“Nooooo,” Kaminari wailed from his place at the stove, “my three macaroni haven’t cooked yet!”
“You must plate up immediately, irrespective of what stage of cooking you are at,” Iida commanded, “we will now take the final product for taste testing with Y/N, Mina and Aoyama.”
“Arrgh!” Kaminari screeched while Jirou just crouched down on the floor and held her head in defeat.
…………………………..
“It smells good,” you said to Mina from where you, her and Aoyama sat in the next room- waiting expectantly.
“Oui,” Aoyama replied brightly, looking off into space.
“I don’t care if Kaminari’s looks good. I’m still not going to eat it,” you said suspiciously, “he’ll have dropped it on the floor. I can almost guarantee it.”
Mina hummed in agreement.
Just then there was a knock on the door and you all straightened in your seats.
“May I present!” Iida announced as Momo walked thorough the doors holding a tray with 4 dishes on it.
You looked down at them as they were placed in front of you, as Hagakure and Uraraka walked in to film your reactions.
The three of you glanced over them and pointed to the watery soup with a few pasta pieces floating in it.
“Is this one Kami and Jirou’s?” you asked Iida.
“Yes,” he nodded.
“Ok. No hate to Jirou but I’m not eating that… is the macaroni even cooked?,” you asked.
“Unknown,” Uraraka commented from behind the camera, zooming in on the the sad excuse for macaroni and cheese.
“Understandable. Kaminari, unfortunately, spilled most of the dry ingredients on the floor but proceeded to continue cooking anyway, so I suggested refraining from tasting that one,” Iida announced.
“Thank you for the warning,” you said, wrinkling your nose up.
“This one, presentation-wise, looks the most appealing… almost as appealing as myself,” Aoyama said, admiring his reflection in the side of the bowl closest to him.
“Yeah.” Mina agreed, “is this Sato and Sero’s?”
“Yes,” Momo nodded. “They did very well.”
“This one has black bits in it?” you commented, leaning forward to look into another bowl.
“Unfortunately, Todoroki and Midoriya’s,” Iida said.
“And… this…” Mina asked, looking into the last one… It looks ok? Maybe a little runny though?”
“Bakugou’s and Kirishima’s,” Momo said with a smile.
“Ok, time to taste test,” you announced, picking up a spoon and placing it into Sato and Sero’s bowl.
You had no doubt it was going to be amazing. Just the feel of the spoon entering the delicious cheesy goodness told you it was made to perfection. Your mouth was watering as you placed the laden spoon inside your mouth and closed your lips around it, dragging the contents off the curved metal as you slid it back out from between your lips- leaving the spoon clean.
Everyone waited and watched until you had finished the mouthful, your eyes fluttering closed as you savoured it.
“Amazing. 10/10. Perfection,” you stated, giving it a raving review as you put the spoon down on your plate and raised your hands in the air.
“Can’t be that good can it?” Mina questioned with a grin as she grabbed her spoon and took a mouthful, followed by Aoyama.
“très magnifique!” Aoyama exclaimed.
“Mmmmm,” Mina hummed happily, leaning back in her chair and swinging her legs back and forth under the desk.
After you had all tasted Sato and Sero’s dish, you all picked up a new spoon and looked at Bakugou and Kirishima’s mac and cheese.
You poked it and pushed the macaroni around a bit, seeing the sauce wasn’t as thick as Sato and Sero’s.
“Too much water,” you announced, “the consistency is lacking.”
Both Mina and Aoyama agreed, but Mina tried a bit anyway.
“Yeah. It’s still good but not top tier,” she said from beside you, “8/10.”
“Visually is an 8/10 too,” you stated.
“I wonder if Midoriya used the cheese I gave him!” Aoyama said excitedly as Midoriya and Todoroki’s bowl was bought forward.
“It’s burnt!” you gasped when the smell hit your nostrils.
“No!” Mina gasped, leaning over the bowl.
Aoyama wailed dramatically and covered his face with his hands.
“That’s the correct reaction, Aoyama, thank you,” you said, looking at him then back to the bowl, “burnt! I feel like this should be minus points! It’s like burning a sacred dish!”
“-5/10,” you stated authoritatively.
“Harsh!” Mina said with a little disbelieving chuckle.
“Deserved,” you replied firmly.
“What about that dish? What are we rating that one?” Mina asked, pointing to the very sad looking soup with 3 macaroni floating in the middle of it.
“Ugh,” you sighed, “that one is -20/10.”
“I must object to the scoring system,” Iida interjected.
“Excuse me? Who is the mac and cheese expert here?” you asked authoritatively to him.
He pursed his lips and conceded quickly. “My apologies, Y/N, you are indeed the connoisseur… forgive me.”
“Yes. I am,” you said with a grin, “and this is the total score for the comp…”
You, Mina and Aoyama then spent another few minutes detailing the scores and came to the conclusions of each quite quickly and compiled the notes to then present to the cooks who were all waiting in the other room.
After walking out to them and standing for a second, you addressed them all.
“We, the judges,” you stated as you stood, cameras trained on you, Mina, and Aoyama, “find that…”
“Why does it sound like a criminal court case?” Kaminari asked with a worried look on his face.
“Because you’re going to be jailed for what you did to the mac and cheese,” Jirou teased with a smirk.
“Sato and Sero! Are the winners with a perfect score for presentation! Consistency! And favour!”
Everyone clapped and the pair walked up to Aoyama to receive their prizes
“The next up- for second place, are Bakugou and Kirishima! For their lovely attempt with just a little points shaved off for lack of sauce consistency.”
“I won’t lose to anyone! I demand a rematch!” Bakugou snapped, with Kirishima having to placate him heavily as he received both awards in hand then trying to give one to Bakugou.
“And… third… listen,” you said sadly, “you both MURDERED the mac and cheese. I can’t even bring myself to giving either of you a prize because it was so hideously terrible.”
“Apologies,” Todoroki said stoically with a bow.
“We are sorry for burning the mac and cheese,” Midoriya added sadly.
“And YOU!” You pointed at Kaminari. “You should be on your knees begging for forgiveness!”
“I’m sorry!” Kaminari wailed, dropping to the floor, “forgive me!”
“No,” you said with a smirk.
“Awwww,” he pouted, “I’ll make you another one as a peace offering?”
“Please don’t,” you said with a concerned look on your face, “anyway. That’s it. That’s the end. Bye…”
And very quickly you turned and disappeared, leaving everyone a little confused by your sudden departure as you walked back into the other room and shut the door.
“Where are they going?” Mina asked curiously.
“THE MAC AND CHEESE!” Aoyama gasped, noticing that Sato and Sero’s bowl of cheesy goodness was missing.
“THEIF!” Mina screeched, causing everyone to start hollering and yelling as they ran to the door and started yanking on the handle.
“STAND BACK YOU EXTRAS!” Bakugou shouted, holding his hand up- crackling pops of dynamite starting to glow in his palm.
