Shoto’s gentle chuckle caressed your ears. “I took note of when you activated your quirk.. you said you could only maintain it for 20 seconds. The duel went beyond that. I knew when you had blacked because of the fear written on your face. Bakugo was about to throw an explosion at you so I threw up a wall of ice in between you both.”
“Ahh so that was that shhhick noise I heard.”
“Y/N you really should be more careful, you should have surrendered.” Shoto continued.
“WHAT?! And let that over inflated ego get an extra boost to his esteem?! I think not!” You retorted.
Shoto laughed.
His laugh could cure cancer. You felt it reverberate through his body and flow to yours. It made you feel instantly better.
“Shoto?” You mumbled shyly
“Yes Y/N?” He replied
“Thank you… I don’t want to know what would have happened had you not stepped in and saved me.” You mumbled into his chest.
All he did was squeeze you.
You reached the infirmary and recovery girl checked you over.
“She just needs rest now, her sight will return soon.” She said.
Shoto placed you gently on the bed and you were honestly sad to no longer be in his arms. You laid down on the bed and sighed.
“Is everything alright Y/N?” Shoto asked. He was refusing to leave your side.
“Yes! Sorry! I’m fine Shoto.” You replied with as much enthusiasm as you could muster.
“Just rest now.” He said softly placing a hand on yours. You jumped, not expecting such a gentle touch.
“Oh sorry Y/N did I scare you?” Shoto asked, slightly panicked.
“Oh no no, not at all sorry I’m just a little jumpy because I can’t se-” you paused as your vision started to come back.
Your newly focused eyes settled on Shoto who was leaning over your body, top button of uniform undone. His gorgeous heterochromic eyes gazing at you softly. There was a gentleness to them you hadn’t noticed before. He held your gaze and leaned forward a little. You blushed and looked away. “Oh can you see again Y/N?”
“Uhhhh yeah I’m good now.” You replied still averting your eyes.
“I’m glad.” He smiled
As he leaned back and sat up he winced slightly. You activated your quirk and scanned his body. He had a tear in his supraspinatus, one of the shoulder muscles.
You gasped and reached out to him.
“Shoto your shoulder! You’ve torn one of your muscles. Here let me fix it.” You steadied your gaze and focused directly at the tear.
Using a technique you had been practicing in support studies you knitted the muscle fibres back together. You released after a few seconds and flopped back on the pillow.
Shoto rotated his arm. There was no pain. His dumbfound expression made you giggle.
“How? What? When did you learn to do that?” For once in his life he was lost for words. “Wait Y/N, you should be resting! Don’t use your quirk for the rest of today!” He said, voice full of worry.
“Now we’re even.” You smiled weakly.
Today’s events had worn you out. You relaxed into the pillow and closed your eyes.
“I could die right now and I’d have no regrets.”
As you drifted into a peaceful sleep Shoto studied you. Watching you from the corner of his eye.
“I may not be good at expressing my emotions; I may come off as a little cold. But what I really want to tell you Y/N is that you are an important person to me and I want to protect you at all costs. I hope I can tell you this one day soon.”
Shoto’s words were barely audible. He chuckled softly and ran his fingers through his hair.
“I’m acting like a love struck fool thanks to you.”
He reached over and tenderly stroked your cheek. You smiled gently in your dream.

You had recovered nicely from your battle ordeal and things were going well with you and Shoto. You could have a decent conversation with him without stuttering like an idiot and he smiled more although he wasn’t the most open person you had had some deep and meaningfuls as of late.
He had told you about his family, his father, Endeavour, and how he got his scar. You swore you could see a softness in his eyes when he looked at you.
“Wishful thinking.” You had thought.
Once a week you trained together, your Dad kept sneaking peeks and teasing you from the sidelines. You didn’t mind though. Shoto never noticed.
“You’re getting really good now, Shoto.” You said panting.
You were in the middle of a sparring session and he was starting to get some good hits in. It was an exceptionally warm evening and you were both sweating up a storm in the hot dojo.
“Y/N.” Shoto asked through ragged breaths. “It’s really hot in here… would you mind if I removed my…” He looked away and blushed slightly. “My top?”
You blushed heavily. “Uh sure? That’s fine, make yourself comfortable. I umm…would you mind if I was just in my tank top? I have one on underneath my uniform.”
Shoto nodded.
You both bowed and backed up to remove your top layers.
Avoiding eye contact you undid the buttons of your uniform and opened it up. You shot a side glance at Shoto as you let your top fall to the floor. He had already taken his uniform top off and was lifting his undershirt up to pull it off over his head.
Your jaw hit the floor. He was shredded. Like, you knew he would have a good physique but THIS was a sight to behold.
His chiseled abs glistened with sweat and you couldn’t help but swallow thickly as your eyes travelled across his torso.
He tossed his shirt to the side and ran his fingers through his hair before looking over at you. You were still staring in awe.
He had frozen too and was taking you in as well.
All of a sudden you felt very self-conscious.
