“Anything for my man.” You replied with a cheeky smile.
Shoto blushed slightly.
“Ooh… still got it.” You mused, seeing his blush.
“We’ll talk about that after school though.” Shoto said, collecting himself.
Just then the bell rang, signaling the end of lunch.
“Come, beautiful.” Shoto commanded gently, taking your hand. “Let’s go to class.”
You took his hand and let him lead you to the door and down the stairs.
“Wait! Shoto! We can’t be holding hands! What if people see us?!” You tried to pull your hand away but he wouldn’t let go.
“Let them see us.” He said, not looking at you. “I have my girl, nothing can stop me now.”
You blushed and glanced around at the students gawking at you and Shoto. He wasn’t fazed at all, he held his head high and kept marching towards the classroom, finally letting your hand go when you reached the door.
You quickly flashed Ochaco a thumbs up when you saw her to let her know everything was all good then took your seat.
You looked out the window smiling then looked back at your desk. You saw Shoto looking at you from the corner of your eye so you stole a glance in his direction. He was staring dreamily at you, his chin rested in his hand. You blushed and looked away quickly.
Aizawa-Sensei entered and brought the classrooms attention to the front. Everyone was focused on Aizawa… except Shoto, that is.
“Todoroki! Eyes up front thank you.” Aizawa barked.
“Oh forgive me Sensei I’m just captivated by my beautiful girlfriend.” Shoto stated confidently.
You could have died. You were flattered, sure, but SERIOUSLY?! Your face went beetroot red and you sank down in your chair covering your face. A huge grin being covered by your hands.
Shoto’s bold statement sent a rustle of whispers and wolf whistles through the students. You peaked through your fingers. He was still gazing at you lovingly.
“Omg stoopppppp.” Butterflies filled your stomach.
“OK keep it in your pants.” Aizawa said gruffly. That statement was enough to break Shoto’s concentration on you.
The rest of the afternoon went as smoothly as it could have gone, Shoto still determined to embarrass you with his overt flirtation. You kinda liked it though. You had missed him and you liked this new-found confidence.
He had insisted on walking home with you after school and you couldn’t have been happier. You chatted about random things, asked how his grandparents were doing and filled him in on things that had happened in his absence. It felt good to have him back.
As you neared your gate your Dad came out.
“Hey lovebirds!” He quipped happily.
“Oh please! Someone kill me now.” You rolled your eyes but smiled at his greeting.
Suddenly Shoto assumed a low bow position, his head lowered in respect to your father.
You looked at him surprised. “Shoto? What are you doi-.”
“HONOURED SIR, I MUST APOLOGIZE FOR MY CARELESSNESS TOWARDS YOUR DAUGHTER.” Shoto bellowed at your Dad.
“Uhhhh???” Your Dad was thoroughly confused. You hadn’t told him about the whole ‘3 weeks break’ thing.
“I WILL MAKE IT UP TO HER AND SOLEMNLY SWEAR IT WILL NEVER HAPPEN AGAIN!” Shoto was still in a low bow.
You were making faces at your dad, silently apologizing for Shoto’s odd behaviour. Your Dad was quick enough to understand that he should just ‘forgive’ Shoto and move along. So he did.
“Shoto,” your Dad said sternly, placing his hand in a ‘chop’ position on Shoto’s head. “I forgive you but you need to understand that….” he paused and his voice changed from stern to bewildered. “I have no idea what’s going on but I’m sure if you hurt my baby girl she will destroy you first; then I’ll come after you.” He belly laughed.
Shoto looked up, confused. You grabbed his hand and pulled him past your father before there were any other awkward exchanges.
“He didn’t know??” Shoto asked you, shocked.
“Yeah, uh, I didn’t know how to tell him? I was going to wait till you got back and then depending on what happened after you returned, then I was going to fill him in.” You smiled sheepishly and scratched the back of your head.
“Oh I see.” Shoto said thoughtfully. “Well it won’t EVER happen again, I promise.” He kissed your cheek.
You smiled and cleared your throat. “Hey umm, as much as I am enjoying us right now we need to talk about the elephant in the room.”
Shoto looked around. “What elephant?”
“No no,” You laughed. “it’s a figure of speech.” You had forgotten these types of comments went over his head. “I’m talking about Kyoka.”
“She doesn’t have an elephant mutation quirk?” Shoto was still rather confused.
“Forget the elephant.” You laughed. “Let’s talk Kyoka defeating.”
“Ah yes!” Shoto’s eyes lit up. “Ok well let me update you from where we left off that Sunday.”
You pushed yourself backwards and up, sitting on the kitchen counter and grabbed a snack bar. You opened it and offered Shoto a bite, which he gladly took. He was standing between your knees looking up at you.
“She turned up at my house shortly after you sent me that message about her quirk.” Shoto said between chews.
“That little….” your eyes narrowed menacingly.
“It’s OK, I was very cold to her.” Shoto winked.
“She tried again to get me to like her, it didn’t work but we need to actually scare her away.” Shoto furrowed his brow in thought. “I’m thinking we need to use your quirk somehow…”
“How though?” You questioned, tilting your head.
“What are the boundaries of your quirk Y/N? How much do you know about the use of your quirk? Shoto asked, taking another bite of your bar.
“Hmmm I… I don’t know?” You replied. “I can heal muscles using a high frequency?”
“Could you cause pain or a muscle tear?” Shoto asked trying to not make it look like he had been thinking along these lines for a while.
“You want me to tear a muscle???” You asked shocked.
