Shoto had desperately tried to escape the meeting with Kyoka after finding out she was your half sister. He had gone home to pack a few items and was intending to make a run for it but Endeavor had locked the doors. A short fight had ensued but Endeavor had stood his ground and sent a few very strong flames at Shoto, charring his left leg and ankle. Defeated, he was forced to submit.
You had been in contact with him via text message but your half sister had just arrived and you had to go and meet her. You exchanged pleasantries with her trying desperately to mask the emotions you felt after Shoto’s mystery date had been revealed.
“Maybe I could talk her out of going?”
You, your Dad, Mrs Suru and Kyoka all sat around the dining table exchanging small talk as you snacked on biscuits and tea.
“Kyoka, you wanna hang out in my room?” You asked suddenly.
“Uh sure?” Kyoka replied cautiously.
You stood and beckoned her to follow you upstairs.
“Hey I’m gonna cut to the chase.” You said closing the door behind you as you ushered her into your room.
“What’s that?” She asked suspiciously, eyeing you closely.
“So… I know you have a meeting with a guy tonight. Endeavor’s son, Shoto, to be exact…I know it’s supposed to be an arranged marriage of sorts.” You stated directly. “I want you to call it off.”
“What?! Why?” She shot. “Wait…How do you even know about this? it’s supposed to be a very private arrangement because if word got out the press would go nuts!”
“Because Shoto is my boyfriend!” You glared at her. “He’s the one who told me about it.”
“And?” She scoffed. “You think I’m gonna call it off because you have a widdle crush on him??” She ridiculed you. “Listen, he’s hot- I’ve seen photos- he’s got a freakin’ amazing quirk AND he’s rich and well known. There is no way in HELL I’m calling it off.” She huffed, hands on her hips. “You can’t just order me around because we’re kinda related!”
“Yo, it’s not a “crush”” You made a flamboyant ‘air quotation mark’ movement for dramatic effect. “We’ve been dating for like.. almost 2 weeks now.”
Kyoka threw her head back and laughed. “Almost 2 weeks.” She laughed again. “Ooooo a 2 week old relationship, yeah you guys are definitely unbreakable. Y’all are soulmates.” She rolled her eyes. “Pah-leeze. Do yourself a favour and break it off now before you make a fool of yourself.”
“YOU’RE the one that should call it off before you make a fool of YOURSELF! He’s in love with ME, he wouldn’t choose some random over me!?” You said straightening a little.
“Are you sure he’s in love with you?” She shot back. “Has he ever told you he loved you?”
You blinked a few times then turned your face away from hers. “W-well…no… no he hasn’t actually said it to me yet.” You said quietly, wringing your hands together. “BUT!”
“BUT NOTHING!” She yelled in your face. “HE DOESN’T LOVE YOU, you’re just there to pass the time.” And with that she spun on her heels and opened the door. “Break up with him, save yourself from him doing it to you later tonight.” And with that she slammed the door and headed downstairs.[Saturday night – Todoroki household]
Shoto had been on house arrest for the rest of the day. He sulked around trying to think of a way of escape but his father had a close eye on him. He didn’t even bother to change his clothes. He wasn’t interested in making a good impression.
“I’ll discourage her as much as I possibly can.”
You had texted Shoto about the talk you had had with Kyoka and encouraged him to be as rude to her as possible. “Easy.” Thought Shoto. “No one can top my Y/N. I l-l-love….her.” He stopped pacing when he realized what he had just said internally. “Have I ever told her I love her?!” He furrowed his brow. “I don’t think I ever have!?” He freaked out and grabbed his phone to text her… “it should be in person though…”
He sighed. Pausing, he heard voices at the front door. He scowled and sat down on his bed in defiance. “I’m not going out there without a fight.”
In the next minute Endeavor flung the door open and marched in, grabbing Shoto by the collar and dragging him out. He struggled but it was no use.
He was pushed around the corner by Endeavor and forced into a bow. He gritted his teeth and stared angrily at the floor. When he was finally allowed to lift his head he kept the look of distain on his face. He didn’t care.
“Wow that’s an intense look?” Kyoka thought.
“Hi Shoto.” She gave him a bright smile.
“Call me by my last name.” Shoto growled. This statement earned him a solid smack on the back of the head by his fiery father.
“Don’t be rude.” Endeavor growled. “Why don’t you take Kyoka for a walk in the garden while I chat with Mrs Suru.” He grabbed Shoto by the shoulder threateningly.
Shoto scowled and turned to head towards the garden. “Come.” He commanded over his shoulder.
Kyoka followed meekly. “Man what is with this guy? He’s stone cold… but I can break him.” She smirked.
When they were out of earshot of the parents inside, Shoto turned to face her.
“Y/N told me about you.” He said bluntly.
“Man what is it with you two and being so blunt?!” She rolled her eyes and crossed her arms defensively. “I don’t care what she said to you, we’re going to get married so that’s that.”
“No we certainly are NOT getting married and I have brought you out here to formally reject the arrangement.” Shoto said, crossing his arms to match Kyoka.
“Shoto, What is your favourite food?” Kyoka asked suddenly after staring at Shoto intensely for a few minutes.
He gave her a confused look and remained silent before announcing his favourite dish.
“Cold soba.” He grunted.
“Oh really? I know an amazing cold soba restaurant just near here! It just recently opened up.” Kyoka said with a smile.
“Really?” Shoto asked, letting his guard down a little.
Suddenly Kyoka’s eye flashed a brilliant purple. Shoto felt strange, his heart started beating fast, he was sweating slightly, his pupils dilated. He had felt this sensation before… but only ever with you… what was going on??
