Shoto’s house wasn’t too far from yours so you decided to walk it.
A) To walk off some of the nerves and
B) to kill time because let’s be honest it had been all you could think about from the moment he asked you over for dinner.
You checked your phone again as you rounded the corner just to make sure you were on the right track. “First house on the right.” You stopped in front of quite a large house that had a big iron fence across the front. You checked the address again just to be sure. “Yep! This is the place.” You were about to press the intercom when the speaker light lit up and a familiar voice came through the line.
“Hi Y/N! Please come in!” The chirpy voice of your boyfriend said invitingly.
The doors creaked as they opened slowly. You mumbled a ‘thank you.’ As your attention directed to the house. Shoto was already at the door waiting for you. “Someone’s keen?”
“Hi Shoto,” you said, walking up to him. A big grin on your face.
“Hello beautiful girl.” He replied, arms open for a hug. You gladly accepted and melted into his warm embrace. “Please come in!” He said ushering you inside. He led you to the kitchen where a beautiful aroma filled the air.
You breathed deeply. “Mmmm Shoto something smells good! What are you making?”
“I’m making [insert your favourite dish]” he replied, a coy smile pulling at his lips.
“THAT’S MY FAVOURITE DISH!” You replied, surprised.
“I know,” he winked at you. “You mentioned it once during lunch at school.” He returned his attention to the stove top.
You blinked. “I mentioned it ONCE and you remembered?” You said, shocked.
“I remember every little thing about you.” He said, glancing at you, a gentle look in his gorgeous mismatched eyes.
You blushed and took a seat at the kitchen bench watching Shoto work. He was in casual clothes. Something you hadn’t seen him in before. He had grey slacks on and a plain white tee. He busied himself getting things from around the room and your eyes followed him.
“Are you ok Y/N? I can feel your eyes on me.” Shoto stated suddenly.
“Can’t take my eyes off you,” You quipped slyly, using the line he had used the other day at lunch. He turned his face away from you, you were sure it was to hide a blush. He cleared his throat.
“Would you mind coming here a minute?” He asked, still with his head turned away from you.
“Of course!” You replied jumping up from your seat and strolling over to him. “What can I help you with?”
He reached an arm out towards you and pulled you into him, finally turning his head to gaze at you. His eyes were intense. Was it a look of lust?
He bent his head down and kissed you passionately. You returned the kiss and parted your lips to deepen the exchange. He placed both hands onto your hips and turned to pull you into him. You could feel his quirk activating, left side was getting hotter while the right side was getting colder. His lips started to cool yet his tongue was warming up. The changes in temperature were exciting, sending a shiver down your spine. Suddenly he stopped and pulled away leaving you confused and disappointed.
“Why did you stop? I liked that.” You asked reaching out for him.
“Y/N I’m so sorry, I… I’m…” Shoto backed away a bit. “I can’t seem to control my quirk when I get close to you… when I kiss you…it acts on its own and I don’t want to hurt you.”
You could see a small bit of frost on Shoto’s hand. You activated your quirk and checked him over. “His muscles are very tense… all of them are on edge.”
You reached out and took his right hand and tried to melt the frost with the heat of your hand. “I’m not scared Shoto. I know you would never hurt me. I think I know how to help control your quirk when you’re close to me but we can work on that later.” You winked.
Suddenly Shoto jumped past you to turn the stove off.
“Oops.” He scratched the back of his head with a slightly goofy smile. “Almost burned it.”
“Dinner was amazing Shoto! Where did you learn to cook like that?” You praised, more than impressed at Shoto’s cooking skills.
“My sister is a very good cook,” Shoto replied. “She taught me how to cook properly when she caught me making popcorn with my quirk.”
“How do you make popcorn with your quirk?” You laughed.
“I was taking one kernel at a time out of the popcorn bag and heating it in my left hand until it popped… then I’d eat it.” Shoto replied nonchalantly.
He watched you as you giggled, happy that you found it amusing.
“Speaking of your sister, where are your siblings tonight?” You looked around for effect.
“Ah Fuyumi, my sister, is away on business at the moment and my brother Natsuo is at college. I’m looking forward to making introductions.” Shoto grinned. “When they’re back in town I’ll be sure to have you over for another dinner.” He stood and took your plate over to the sink.
“Ready to study?” He asked turning around and leaning back against the counter top.
“Gah! He’s just so casual and sexy at the same time!” You fan-girled internally. “Let’s do this!” You shouted, doing a fist pump to the sky as you jumped up from your seat.
Shoto lunged forward and grabbed you around the waist, lifting you up. You giggled and squealed as he lifted you.
“You’re very light Y/N.” He said, spinning you around and placing you down. “I could carry you all day.” He smiled warmly at you and you pecked him on the cheek.
“Let’s study in your room, cutie!” You bounced down the hall looking in the rooms trying to find his one. Shoto followed behind you pulling at his fringe, trying to cover the blush across his cheeks.
