“Have I done the right thing? What if I’m not actually suited to being a hero? Should I ask to go back into support studies??” Your internal struggle continued as you strolled down the sidewalk on your way to UA.
Your thoughts were suddenly interrupted when you heard a cry of despair from behind you. Turning to see what or who had let out such a pitiful noise your eyes were met with an almost comical sight.
A girl about your age with short brown hair, wearing the same UA uniform as you, was standing looking up into the sky with a dejected look on her face. Following her gaze you saw a takeaway cup floating away. Before you realized what you were doing you dropped your bag and sprinted towards the girl and her ascending cup. Launching yourself into the air using a Jump kick you grabbed the takeaway cup mid air and hit the ground in the classic superhero landing stance.
The girl stood shocked. Wide eyed with mouth ajar.
You turned and flashed her a big smile with arm outstretched holding the cup out towards her
“Hi, umm …here. This is yours I presume?” You said while giving the back of your head a sheepish rub.
“….wow?!” Was all the girl could respond with.
You walked towards her and placed the cup in her hand.
“Was that your quirk that made it float?” You asked.
“Umm yes” she responded, staring at the cup not quite knowing what to make of the whole situation. Suddenly her vocabulary exploded. “THAT WAS SO AMAZING AND COOL! YOU MADE THAT JUMP LOOK EFFORTLESS! YOU SHOULD BE A HERO!”
Your heart skipped a beat at those words “..a hero.” That’s exactly what you wanted to be! To hear a stranger confirm your desires was the ultimate confidence boost.
“That’s umm.. that’s what I’m trying to be. I mean. What I want to be.” You mumbled shyly looking down.
“My name is Uraraka Ochaco by the way!” “But please call me Ochaco” Said the bubbly girl still fangirling over your cup rescue.
“Y/N” you replied. I’m “L/N” “F/N” but please call me “Y/N”
“Are you a student at UA?” Ochaco asked excitedly, noticing your uniform.
“Yes I am.” you replied “What class are you in?”
“Hero class 1-A” Ochaco replied punching the air enthusiastically
“NO WAY!” You screamed “I’m just transferring to that class today! I was in support studies but wanted to see if I had what it takes to become a hero.” Your confidence was slightly boosted by Ochaco’s words earlier.
“I’m so excited we’ll be in the same class.” Ochaco squealed; turning to continue waking down the sidewalk beside you. “We have a great class! You’ll fit in well”
The UA school gates loomed before you. You had seen them many times before, this was no biggie, but this time your heart was pounding in your chest.
“Breathe Y/N, breathe”
“This way!” Ochaco’s friendly voice snapped you out of your mental chant.
She led you to the doors of 1-A and pushed it open. You tailed her closely as she entered but slowed to a standstill the further you got into the room.
Quickly glancing around you took in all the students standing in the room.
Everyone was engaged in their own conversations except for one guy towards the back of the room who was quietly sitting at his desk. He had his eyes closed, arms crossed and head tilted forward while leaning back in his chair.
His hair was white on one side and a brilliant red on the other. Even with his head down you could see a burn mark across his left eye and cheekbone, the same side as the red hair. Even though he had a burn mark on his face it certainly didn’t detract from his looks!
“Cot dayum WHO is that?!” You thought, checking him out from a distance.
He had his sleeves rolled up and top button undone on his uniform, even from the small amount of skin he was showing you could tell he was cut as hell. On top of that his jawline was so sharp it could kill a man.
As you continued to ogle over this ridiculously handsome classmate you heard a voice in front of you.
“Are you from heaven? THANK YOU LORD FOR SENDING US THIS GODDESS.”
You jumped at the volume increase of the second part of the sentence and looked down … to about knee height.
There was a midget at your feet, drooling. His eyes were glued to your chest. Instinctively you kicked him, sending him flying across the room.
You crossed your arms in front of you and rubbed them against you slightly trying to remove the feeling his piercing gaze had left on your chest. Most classmates had stopped what they were doing by now and were looking at you. Feeling very self conscious you ran to Ochaco’s side.
She introduced you to 2 other classmates and you smiled politely, giving them your name and the reason why you had transferred. As you talked with them you felt someone’s eyes on you and you glanced to your left.
It was him, that good looking classmate. You inhaled sharply as your eyes met his.
He hadn’t moved from the position you first saw him in, the only change from before was his eyes were now open and locked on YOU.
You were captivated by his eyes! One brilliant turquoise blue one and one grey one. Trying your best not to stare you tore your gaze away from him and back on your new classmates.
“…. and then she landed in the coolest superman pose I have ever seen and didn’t even spill a drop!!!” Ochako said excitedly, she was retelling this morning’s happenings.
You blushed at her enthusiasm and rubbed the back of your neck.
“That IS Cool” the green haired boy named Midoriya stated, pumping his arms up and down.
“So what is your quirk then?” asked Iida, a tall studious looking guy
“Is it a power type??” Midoriya interjected. “Judging by Ochaco’s story it sounds like you used the power of your jump to retrieve the cup…” he rambled on almost incoherently, lost in thought.
“She did it all before I could release my quirk too!” Ochako exclaimed excitedly
“Wait… you can release the floating things??” You asked dumbfounded.
