You continued to call out words of encouragement and cheered wildly whenever Dabi or the team scored a point.
It was getting close to halftime and Nekoma was only just holding their lead over Ubugawa. Dabi has been on court the whole time and was working up a sweat so you decided to go down to court side to give him your best pep talk before he started the second set… pep talk being to drag him off to a quiet corner so you two could make out.
“Woah Dabi,” you panted as his hands claimed every inch of your form, his lips and tongue delving into the most sensitive spots of your neck. “Easy boy, calm down.” You coo’d. “Wait until after the game.”
“No.” He growled as he pressed his very obvious bulge against your heat, his hands gripping into your hips as he nipped you just under your ear.
Your fingers gripped into his sweaty messy hair, small mewls and airy moans escaping your throat as his body claimed dominance over yours.
You didn’t care that he was sweaty, it only added to the hotness of the moment.
“You need to get back to your game!” You panted breathlessly, your body aching for more of him as your hungry lips found his.
“I’d give it up to have the afternoon alone with you.” He said lowly between heated kisses.
“Oh? Now that’s saying something?” You replied coyly as you kissed him passionately again. “You’d pick me over volleyball?”
Dabi smirked. “You have no idea what I’d give up for you, Y/N…”
Just then Kuroo’s voice interrupt.
“Hi, sorry to interrupt the arranging of faces but CAPTAIN you are needed on the bridge.” He said as he crossed his arms and tapped a foot impatiently.
“I’m dealing with a rogue subordinate, first mate.” Dabi replied, not looking at Kuroo as he went in for another kiss.
“She doesn’t look rogue to me, sir, get your ass back out here and help us win the game.” He replied with slight exasperation.
Dabi sighed. “Ok fine, I’m coming.”
He grabbed your hand and gave it a squeeze before walking off.
“I’ll be back to finish you off later.” He called casually over his shoulder as he strode off down the hall following Kuroo.
“Is there a sport involving sex? because you need to be a part of that one asap.” Kuroo teased, grabbing Dabi in a headlock as he got closer.
“Yeah it’s called an orgy but I just want Y/N to myself.” You heard Dabi reply.
You snorted and shook your head.
“God, I love that idiot so much.”
You reached for your pocket and fumbled with a small box that was concealed inside. Suddenly you felt quite nervous.
“Am I doing the right thing? Am I being too hasty?”
You shook your head again and walked back to the stairs, heading into the stands to watch your man finish the game.
The final set was a hot one with long drawn out duels but Dabi kept his cool and continued to hold his team together.
As the final buzzer sounded and the ball fell to the court on Ubugawa’s side the stands erupted into a thunderous cheer for Nekoma’s victory.
A number if the Nekoma high players burst into tears, it had been a hard game and all that stress was finally released in their victory over the other team. A hard team. The only team they had truly been afraid of.
Dabi grinned up at you the minute he was certain of Nekoma’s victory and threw you another peace sign before being crowded out by his boys.
They celebrated happily and you couldn’t have been prouder.
The ceremony that followed seemed to drag on and that little box in your pocket felt like it was on fire, your whole attention drawn to it and it alone.
After the winners had all received their awards and medals you went to find Dabi… and have a chat.
You approached him apprehensively and tugged on his sleeve.
He turned around when he felt you there and grabbed you into a big hug, kissing you firmly on the lips before excusing himself from the rest of his team.
“I have unfinished business to attend to.” He said with a smirk as he whisked you off.
“Dabi, woah!” You laughed as he pinned you up in the hallway wall. “I actually need to talk to you seriously … about us…”
He froze, his eyes searching yours for answers as he pulled back.
“Yeah?”
“Look, we’ve been together for almost a year now… and I really really like you…” You said, almost embarrassed at how open you were being. “And I… I want to make a promise with you…” You said as you produced the small box from your pocket.
Dabi looked down. It was a ring box.
“Fuck!” He almost yelled, stepping back. “You serious right now?”
You nodded.
He dropped to one knee and reached into the coat of his sports uniform, producing the exact same small ring box as what you had.
You gasped as he held it out.
“W-wait what?!” You squeaked.
“Babe,” he started as he stayed on one knee. “I know I’ve been making a lot of comments about marriage but I’m dead serious, and I want to prove that…”
“Wait…” you said, your hand covering your mouth before you removed it to the lid of the ring box. “Dabi I…”
You slowly popped the box open to show him inside and at the same time he did the same.
Both boxes had one chicken nugget inside.
The two of you were instantly thrown off guard before dissolving into laughter.
“Oh, my god! You’re such an ass, Dabi.” You cried with laughter.
“Like you’re any better?!” He cackled. “See, this is why I love you.”
He reached into his pocket and produced a beautiful [necklace, ring or bangle, whichever you prefer.] and held it out for you to see.
“What’s this?” You asked amid laughter as you closed the lid on your ring box.
“It’s a promise [necklace, ring or bracelet.]” he said softly, “when I saw you punching the shit out of that girl earlier I just knew you were the one. Y/N I want to marry you when we get older and I’m making that promise to you now. You have been there for me and I need you in my life. Will you accept my promise?”
He said it with such sincerity it melted you and you smiled tearfully.
“Of course, Dabi, I love you.”
He grinned and placed the promise [ring, necklace, bracelet] onto you. “Till chicken nuggets go mouldy.” He said with a smirk.
“Which is never so we good, boo.” You replied as you lunged at him for a kiss.
“Can we consummate this promise now?” He asked lowly with a glint in his eye.
“You’re hopeless you know that?” You sighed with a smirk.
