“Congratulations!” Jinny said excitedly, “are you going out for dinner?”
“Of course, honeybunch!” Brian replied emphatically, “Beyoncé, if he doesn’t take me to ‘le meilleur’ for diner I’m going to cap his privileges.” He snapped his fingers then slammed has hand to his hip and tossed his head up in the air.
“Anthony better be on his game tonight,” Jasmine commented with a deep chuckle.
“Right?” Bri agreed with a flamboyant bounce on the heel of his foot that was holding all of his weight.
“Uh… Brian,” Soshi’s hesitant voice called as he emerged from the makeshift change room nearby, “is this what I’m supposed to be dressed in?”
Everyone looked over as he emerged and Jinny’s eyes nearly fell out of her head.
Soshi was in tight black jeans with a plain white tee but the way it pulled made his physique look amazing.
“Oh babey! You look amazing!” Brian squealed, “hold up, sugar, let me get you some bling!”
The effervescence male pranced over to a suitcase and grabbed out an orange watch and a fake tongue ring for the young student.
“Come, boo-boo, let’s get you shining~,” he sang, whisking Soshi away to put both items on.
“Oh! I’m gonna fix my wig a bit,” Jinny said, walking away to the mirror to fix it.
“Hey,” Chi grunted to Jasmine, “d-do you think I could have a tongue ring too… but not metal… because of my quirk.”
“Of course, hun,” Jasmine said, still going about her job of contouring his face to disguise him, “I have one here for you.”
“Cool,” he replied, letting her put on the finishing touches.
Soshi soon came back and grinned at Jinny.
“Hey, look at this,” he said proudly, poking his tongue out for Jinny to see.
“Oh! A tongue ring. That’s so hot, Soshi,” Jinny gushed.
He pulled his tongue back in and stood straighter, elated that he had impressed her.
Chi scowled from his chair as Soshi gave him a snide side glance. “I’m getting one too, so don’t think you’re so cool, Soshi.”
“Chisuki, honey,” Brian called to Chi, “come with me, let’s get you into your outfit.”
“Ok. All done,” Jasmine said to Chi, putting her artistry tools down.
Chi got off the stool and walked over to the change area then stepped inside so that he could get his new disguise gear on.
While the blond was changing, Brian helped Jinny fix her wig and her and Soshi then chatted while they waited for Chi to emerge.
“What is this shirt?” Chi said in a grumpy voice as he walked out, looking down at the front of his clothes.
On it was written ‘straight- only during work hours’.
“It’s perfect, honey,” Brian said with a smirk, “now let Jazzie-poo do the rest of her thang and you’re ready to go!”
Jasmine applied the tongue ring for Chi then he proudly showed it off to Jinny- who told him it looked hot as well, and they all got ready for the mission.
Thanking Brian and Jasmine for their expert help, they then left the debrief room and headed back to Hiyoko’s room so that he and Kana could walk them to Rarefind.
“Ready?” Hiyoko asked as Jinny opened the office door.
“Yep!” she replied brightly as she entered first, smiling when she saw Kana in the office as well, “hi Kana! I didn’t see you this morning.”
Hiyoko quickly relayed the message to Kana who then replied that he accidentally overslept and Jinny nodded sympathetically.
“I didn’t even recognize you!” Hiyoko said to her once her and Kana had finished their conversation, then he smiled at the boys as they entered after her, “well Jasmine and Brian have done a great job. You’re all well disguised.”
Jasmine had indeed done a great job with her make up, contouring their faces to make them look different and the clothes made them look like they were from a higher fashion end of town.
“Have you got your alias names ready?” Hiyoko asked, going over everything once more before taking them to Rarefind.
“Rana!” Jinny said, raising her hand with a grin.
“Sokin,” Soshi said.
“Genji,” Chisuki replied.
“Good,” Hiyoko nodded, “and backstory?”
“We’ve all chosen the same,” Jinny spoke for them all, “students on work placement from Kishona High.”
“Good,” Hiyoko nodded, “now remember we’re just gathering intel about the workers there. Who could be a target, who could be an accomplice etc… you must not give yourselves away so stay in character as much as possible. I have already told the manager of Rarefind what we are doing so he is the only one who knows your true mission. Kana and I will walk you some of the way to the shop and then you’ll walk the rest. We don’t want people to see you all being escorted by us otherwise it will arouse some suspicions.”
The students all nodded.
“Ok. Let’s go then,” Hiyoko said with a smile, “time to do some hero work!”
Goodbyes were said to Jasmine and Brian and then the small group left to go to Rarefind.
…………………………….
“Ok all, this is where we leave you. Good luck, and you finish work there at 3pm so we’ll meet you here shortly after,” Hiyoko said with a smile to the students who all nodded and kept walking the last bit to Rarefind.
“Do you think they will do well?” Kana signed to Hiyoko.
“I’m sure they’ll be fine,” he replied, “all they have to do is get to know the workers and gather information then leave.”
Kana nodded and the pair turned to head back to the agency.
…………………………….
“Here we go, boys! First real mission!” Jinny squealed, bouncing up and down a little between her two classmates as they reached the front doors to Rarefind.
The manager met them there and smiled as he opened the door for them.
“Welcome work placement students,” he greeted with a knowing smirk, “I have been expecting you.”
The trio nodded at him and entered the building eagerly.
“Please come with me so I can introduce you to the staff and then allocate your jobs for the day,” he said, leading them to the staff room where the other workers were so that he could make introductions.
Once in the staff room- Jinny, Soshi and Chi stated their alias names and that they were there on work placement- each student giving a different reason for having an interest in going into the jewelry or gem industry.
“Ok,” the manager said once each had let them stated themselves, “you three will shadow different people today and see what they do for work.”
“Smart,” Soshi thought, “that way we can talk to people and it won’t look as suspicious- us asking questions.”
“Any questions?” the manager asked.
Jinny, Soshi and Chi shook their heads.
