“Hello?”
“Hello, is this Kirishima Eijirou?”
“Yes it is?”
“Hello, Kirishima, My name is Mr Setsun, I own the Serejuki public pool. I believe you had an interview here with us last week?”
“Oh!! Yes sir, I did,” Kirishima replied, sitting up from where he was slumped in the lounge chair.
“Well, I would just like to let you know that your application has been successful. Would you be able to start with us this coming Sunday?”
Kirishima nearly screamed with excitement.
“Yes! of course, sir. I definitely can.”
“Wonderful, we open at 9am on Sunday but would you be able to arrive at 8:30am so we can get you a uniform and have you sign some papers and get your name tag sorted?”
“Yes, sir! Definitely, sir!” the spikey red head replied enthusiastically.
“Great, do you have any questions?”
“No, sir. None, sir.”
“Ok, Kirishima. Congratulations again and I will see you Sunday,” the kindly man said before saying a fairwell and hanging up.
“I…I got the job!!” Kiri squealed internally, jumping up from the lounge and dropping his phone on the cushion, “mum! Mum! I got the job!” he hollered as he race out into the hallway.
……………………………
“So… what’cha gonna do these holidays?” Kaminari Denki asked his spikey blond hair friend, Bakugou Katsuki, as they sat at the local cafe, chillin’ together.
“Dunno.” Bakugou Katsuki replied with a grunt as he took another sip of his drink.
“Well, Mina and I are gonna try that new pool place out that’s just down the road.” He said as he shoved a chip in his mouth.
“Serejuki?” Bakugou asked, not with interest though. Just confirming the name.
“Yeah, that’s the one.” Kaminari replied. “Wanna come with?”
“Nah.” Bakugou replied curtly.
“Aww, c’mon man, it’ll be fun!”
“Nah, you two go.” Bakugou replied again.
“Dude. I don’t wanna go with just her. I don’t want it to look like we’re a couple. We’re just friends… and plus I wanna pick up while I’m there and that’s slack if I ditch her.”
“And so what? you want me to babysit her for you? No thanks.” Bakugou snorted with light distain.
“C’mon man, it’s not like that! Plus we’ll have so much more fun if we’re all together!” He said excitedly, pumping his fists up and down. “Y’know, Bakusquad unite!”
“Dude, can you not call it that?”
“But we’re your squad! You’re our leader!”
“I am not, you idiot.” Bakugou snorted. “Ok fine, I’ll come with you if you stop calling us the Bakusquad.”
“Deal, dude!” Kaminari replied with a giant grin.
…………..……………………..
Kirishima straightened his backpack as he walked up to the Serejuki pool entrance.
“H-hey, umm my name is Kirishima, I’m suppose to start today?” he said shyly to the girl as he stopped in front of the ticket window.
The cute, short haired brunette looked up and smiled. “Oh hey!” She said brightly, “my name is Ochako! I’ve been expecting you.”
“Oh ok.” Kirishima replied with a nervous smile.
“Come with me. I’ll take you to the boss.” She happily exited the back of the ticket booth and walked around to him.
The next half an hour saw Kirishima getting a uniform, a name tag, and a run down of the day’s events. He listened intently trying to take all the information in, in one go but it was a lot to digest.
“You’ll be working with me in the ticket booth today.” Ochako said. “It’s really easy, you’ll pick it up in no time.” She added with a smile.
“Ok.” Kirishima replied with a toothy grin.
He was starting to get excited about this new job. Ochako was really lovely and friendly and on top of that, super helpful, and he was feeling more relaxed already.
Ochako led him back out to the ticket booth and let them both inside.
“Ok, so all you need to do is say hello and welcome them to SPP—.”
“SPP?” Kirishima interjected.
“Serejuki Public Pool.” Ochako replied. “Then ask them how many tickets they would like. The ticket amounts are on this list here.” She pointed to a list beside the window. “Just punch the amount into the till and tell them how much it will be, then once they pay, give them their tickets from here.” She then pointed to the ticket machine. “And remember to thank them… then push this button to open the gate, here.”
“It’s uh… A lot to remember.” Kirishima said with a nervous chuckle.
“You’ll be fine, Kirishima.” She said reassuringly.
“Oh! Please call me Kiri.” Kirishima said.
“No worries, Kiri.” Ochako said. “Here, I’ll do the first one to show you. Then you can give it a try.”
A small family walked up to the booth and Ochako addressed the father politely and took payment, giving them the tickets before opening the gate.
“See?” She said. “Simple. Now you try.”
………….…………..
“Why are you so goddamn slow?” Bakugou grumbled as Kaminari took his time collecting his items from Bakugou’s mums car.
“Give him a hand, you useless child.” Bakugou’s mum said in exasperation.
Bakugou just seemed to be in an exceptionally bad mood today.
“Tch.” He clicked his tongue against his teeth and reached into the car to take Kaminari’s extra bag.
“Oh, thanks dude!” Kaminari said happily to the scowling Bakugou. “Ok. Let’s go… Thanks, Mitsuki, for driving us here.” The friendly blond ducked his head back into the car to thank Bakugou’s mum.
“You’re welcome, honey.” She said to the good looking boy. “Have fun!”
“We will!” Kaminari said as he pulled his head out and closed the car door.
“Are you done?” Bakugou huffed.
“Stop being such a sauerkraut.” Kaminari snorted. “Let’s have fun today!”
Bakugou rolled his eyes and followed Kaminari to the ticket gate.
“I’ll get it.” The scowling blond grunted as he stepped in front of Kaminari and up to the ticket window. “2 tickets.” Bakugou grunted, looking down to reach into his pocket.
“H-hello and welcome to SSPC… Wait SPC…S…P..P.” Kiri stammered.
Bakugou scowled when he heard the poor spikey redhead struggling with the greeting and looked up to make a snarky remark.
“What are y—.”
He stopped mid sentence as his eyes met Kirishima’s
“Umm hi.” Kiri said shyly with a light blush on his cheeks.
“Hey.” Bakugou said softly, still staring into the eyes of the spikey red head.
There was a moment of silence as neither party knew what to say, then Kaminari interrupted from behind the formerly grumpy blond.
“Yeah, uh, can we get two concession tickets please?” He asked.
