Number one: it will definitely help if you have some experience in the area (DON’T GO OUT THERE AND GIT SUM JUST BECAUSE I’VE TOLD YOU IT WILL HELP YOUR WRITING…good grief you’re going to give me a heart attack.)

Having said that…there are some freakin’ amazingly good smut writers out there that do neko!readers and vampire!readers (or characters) and I’m pretty sure they’ve never done it with a cat or vampire. (DEAR GOD, I HOPE NOT!)

What they have probably done though, is done their research in the area or have watched/read enough on the topic to be able to understand the content they’re writing. Very clever. Hats off to you!

So the take away from this part- READ AND TAKE NOTES on the good smut you come across.

CONSISTENTLY!

Please, like… I don’t even know how to stress this enough… be consistent.

I understand you get to writing a good lemon and half way through your mum calls you to hang the washing… like seriously?! Now Mum?! He’s just about to put his [redacted] into her [redacted]! And then you come back and you’re like… now… where were we? Oh that’s right! Slide it in brotha!

BUT

when you go back and read it, it’s gone from, ‘he toyed with the top of her panty line.’

To

‘He thrust into her and she came.’

Like hold up… where did the panties go?! Where was the sex part?! Who put a scratch on this disc!? (Last line is unrelated)

So try and make sure ALL the appropriate clothes are removed and the flow of the story makes sense.

If it’s too hard to name every piece of clothing that gets removed then just do what @smollestnerd did in their My Hero Academia- One Shots book

I read one smut story that had them going at it up against a wall and next minute she swallowed his [redacted]

I was hella confused. I thought they were right way up and his [redacted] was in her [redacted] but apparently NOW she had it in her mouth??? How long was he upside down for? Poor guy.

My favorite thing ever is the whole bra situation. Bras are magical in smut they disappear, reappear then disappear all in the same story! I would not be surprised if someone added that the bra was sentient and spoke to them while they were going at it.

Ok, now to the juicy uncensored bit.

Describing dicks and vagina’s

The trick to smut is you definitely don’t want giggles. So don’t use words that make you personally giggle.

Like for me the word ‘womanhood’ and ‘lady garden’ *cackling in background*

I just can’t…

so I don’t use those words in my smut.

You WANT people to be turned on reading them so if you yourself can get a little excited writing it then it’s DEFINITELY going to turn someone else on too.

I do try and use as many descriptive words as possible without actually saying the anatomical part. It leave it a little more sensual that way…

Example:

-: he pulled his boxers down, exposing his long, thick shaft.:-

Better than:

-: he pulled his boxers down, exposing his cock.:-

It still works but yeah… visuals guys visuals, tease it out a little.

Writing smut for our enby’s!

This is an area of writing I’ve only just delved into but I absolutely love it because it gives me new words to play with *heavy smirk* 

I will admit though, it’s very HARD (hahahah) to stay true to the neutrality of the gender (or lack thereof) so make sure you’re focused on what you’re doing. If, when you do write, you have a gender in mind and are concerned that you have accidentally put something in your NB smut that has accidentally gendered the reader, one way to avoid triggering someone is to state that the reader is going by the pronouns she/they or he/they (just depending on which gender you had in mind while writing) and this should clear up any misunderstandings just in case you accidentally slipped in a he or a she in the story.

I do state which assignment the enby reader is, just in case people want to know- so AFAB is Assigned Female at Birth and AMAB is Assigned Male at Birth for the very reason stated in the paragraph above although I do make sure I edit my NB smut in absolute silence so that I can really focus on the editing to make sure it is truly NB.
